      The purpose of the locking mechanism is so that you don’t have to constantly adjust them. So if you are doing that then you have the wrong set because you are literally doing the very thing they were designed for you NOT to have to do. Almost as if you are intentionally looking to break them. That is called user error, not a manufacturer issue. Learn how to use them properly instead of searching for something to complain about.

      @@speakupken I've left them locked at the same height for months and they still broke with almost no contact for me also. It's still a great headphone imo, but that's points off.

    Haven't watched yet, heading to work. so I'll just put my impressions owning both.
    NTH100 is built much stronger other than reports of the locking mechanism breaking.
    K361 is a little more flimsy feeling but seems to have less issues.
    Sound wise, NTH100 is much more laid back. Less bass, less treble. Seeming almost like a warm-mid focused headphone, but it has some peaks at 4-5k which gives it a slight grainy or harsh edge to vocals and cymbals. It ends up sounding "lower resolution" to my ear
    K361 is closer to harman tuning, but also sounds a little less warm, more of a sub bass emphasis with some treble emphasis, but not V shaped.
    I wanted to like the Rode, but it's hard to recommend

    Curious that more people don't mention the cable noise of the RODE, any impacts or scrapes against the cable seem to resonate in the chassis really loudly to me, to the extent that I can't enjoy them unless I'm completely still. Happens for both sides as well so shouldn't just be an issue with my unit, but for a pair of headphones designed for professional work it feels like a pretty big flaw to me.

    I wish you could also do a search for the best pads for these akgs. They sure deserve it. Some of the best in their price range, i bet they sold (and sell) pretty nicely. OG ones are a bit shallow and get sweaty and sticky pretty easily. Not the most confortable. With proper earpads - that don't mess with the sond profile that much - these headphones could improve significantly as confort is their weakest point.

I play guitar through high end effects and headphones quite a bit and the warmer treble and more forward mids are much better for monitoring guitar. Equalizing matters much more than an expensive headphone. As long as one has a decent midrange headphone (and sometimes even budget headphone like these) they can change the sound and improve it greatly. Even on Tidal and Qobuzz, hi res music on my midrange headphones can sound like rubbish on many songs. On spotify free with equalizing they sound fantastic. But the lack of skipping ruins the experience. UA-cam free is just a bad experience overall. Wondering if you would know if there is an equalizer one can use for streaming on Tidal Free or Amazon Prime Free music on ios phone? UA-cam doesn't operate in the background well on a phone. It's a hassle. And Spotify free doesn't skip songs. The problem with Tidal and Amazon on ios and iphone is the challenge of how to equalize them.

      @eisas1306 2 роки тому +1

      It does change the timbre and diffusion of the sound when wearing glasses. It becomes problematic, because when the k361 is fully sealed, the presentation of the sound is a bit "pulled back" from the ears(fyi this doesn't affect the soundstage, it's just the presentation). So when you pull that back even further with glasses frames, you get weird diffusion. Technically speaking, many headphones will do this with glasses, but some are worse than others.

    Frequency Response comparison graph is kinda hard to read. Axis labels are small and fuzzy, and the use of red and green is not ideal for folks with colorblindness. The lines themselves are a little thin and thus hard to see, especially against a black background, and especially if the monitor you're using isn't at full brightness or is viewed in a bright room. I'd like to find some headphone that could provide as good spacial perception/awareness (ability of accurately localize footsteps and like been able to know something flew over me from the back to front / right in game with planes ...) as those previous logitech were able to do, but also with better base which i'd like to enjoy some time (not my most important criteria ). The trick to getting the sound you want without sacrificing sound quality is by taking an already great headphone, and just tuning it to your preference. That, plus a DAC/Amp would be good. @@joelstoppa They're not bad per-se, I just think they're massively overpriced in todays climate. Especially the on-ears (i.e. HD25, HD26). I think Sennheiser's best offering for a reasonable price is something like the HD560S. A lot of people also swear by the HD6XX, but I'm personally not a fan of the darker tonality and lackluster technical ability (narrow staging, three-blob imaging, etc.).
      I am noticing a trend though, and that's seemingly closed-back. You hit diminishing returns at about $100-$150 for those. I'd recommend a Takstar Pro 82, Shure SRH440A, or Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro.
