I had knee replacement was given a walker and sent home. While using walker to walk ten ft to bathroom fell and fractured knee cap. Had second surgery 36 hours latter. Also had a tear in tendon. After 3 weeks x rays showed a3rd surgery in next month. I pray this works because it will be last on my knee
Hey are you ok
I pray for healing to wherever you are bro.. God be with you
Мы из России с тобой, а как известно с нами бог!
Выздоравливайте❤
Do you gotta pay for all that?
Damn sounds real painful
This video helps me understand the mechanism of a patella dislocation and how lucky I was not to tear any tendons and ligaments when I dislocated my patella falling off a skateboard. I literally saw the patella moving laterally as I fell. Now, I understand what the patella moved out off. Thank you for making such a good explanatory video
We are so glad it was helpful for your understanding and that your injury was not worse. Thank you for your kind words.
Did you get a swelling on your knee after that injury? Did it hurt alot and did you walk normal after that? Happend to me like 4 days ago, my patella got discolated for 2/3 seconds and got back alone. I got a big swelling and cant walk normal. My orthopedic check it and said that its nothing serious, didnt do mri.
@@Nodihz87 my injury was more serious. I relocated the patella by pulling it back to the centre while my friend straightened my leg. However, I tore the medial quadriceps, the patella tendon sheath and ACL. I was on crutches for almost 3 months. Recovery took another 3.
@@khorweesiongu good now
@@Nodihz87 You should try and get an x-ray and mri for it. That happened to me from running when I was little and since I was 9 with me now being 18, I haven't been able to run or jog because it will dislocate. I pray you don't have this condition or if you do then you can catch it early.
I want to see how far cry characters will heal themselves in this situation
First aid spray and ur good
Snap you finger back in place then you good
Thats what i did i grabbed it and put it back
W comment
You just straighten your leg and you can continue your day
I have dislocation of knee cap(patella) with knock knees or bow legs as a teenager it is disturbing me mentally too!
Please consult to dr. Sanjay srivastava at apollo medics hospital in lucknow he'll treat your injury well.
I had this happen once. Worst pain I've ever felt
What more to me. Ever since I was 10 years old my both knee dislocates multiple times already 😢😢
@@Zgdx_Athenaare u going to get surgery?
Same
It happened to me 4 times in 3 years
I have had 8 knee cap dislocations and 4 shoulder dislocations since December of last year.
My sis dislocated her knee cap. Now, she's been diagnosed with partial MPFL tear. The doc told us that she would be alright with physiotherapy. He was correct. She's actually doing well. I'm asking this just for clarification. Can someone with partial ligament tear undergo this surgery? I don't want her to undergo the level of pain she had to endure when she dislocated her knee cap. She was in a lot of pain😢. Her MRI also stated tht there's a possibility for pallatofemoral instability. I'm just worried about my sister.
Your sister is lucky to have you. In general, MPFL injuries can, (in the majority of circumstance), be treated without surgery. If the patella dislocation was minimal, without additional injury, or if the patient has a normal patellar height when injured, surgery may not be needed. Physical therapy is important to strengthen the stabilizing muscles around the knee. We hope she continues to heal well.
my body becomes cold when i watch your shorts for some reason
Haha you are a
so funny
We recommend a cozy blanket when watching
Thx that helped 😢🎉😂
I literally just had this happen to me. The pain was horrible, but i managed to actually relocate my kneecap. It hurts somewhat but I can walk ok
We hope you're doing ok!
Marvelous is an understatement 👍
Thank you!
My report says near complete tear of mpfl. Am i cooked? Do i need surgery?
A near-complete tear of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) can sound concerning, but whether or not you’ll need surgery depends on a few factors, including the severity of the tear, your overall knee stability, your activity level, and your doctor’s assessment.
The MPFL helps keep your kneecap (patella) in place and prevents it from dislocating. When it’s torn, your knee might feel unstable, and you could be at risk for further dislocations. However, not everyone with an MPFL tear needs surgery.
In some cases, non-surgical treatments like physical therapy, bracing, and activity modifications can be enough to restore knee stability and function, especially if the tear isn’t causing major instability. However, if your knee continues to dislocate, feels unstable, or if you’re very active (like in sports), surgery may be recommended to reconstruct the ligament.
It’s important to follow up with your doctor or an orthopedic specialist to discuss the specifics of your injury and determine the best course of action.
So nice information
Thank you
The injured person must take a good period of time
Isn't tibial tubercle osteotomy typically needed to make sure the Knee cap doesn't slide out again leading to the same problem?
Great question, our full video on this topic includes information on Tibial Tubercle Osteotomies ua-cam.com/video/BAIsXjeLmA8/v-deo.html
but for more context: Tibial tubercle osteotomy (TTO) can be performed to correct patellar instability, especially when there's a significant malalignment or abnormal positioning of the patella. However, it is not always required in cases of medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction.
MPFL reconstruction is primarily used to restore the medial stabilizing ligament of the patella, which can help prevent the kneecap from sliding out of place (dislocating). TTO may be considered in addition to MPFL reconstruction if there are other contributing factors to patellar instability, such as an increased Q-angle (which measures the alignment of the quadriceps relative to the patella) or a high-riding patella (patella alta).
So, while a TTO can be beneficial in specific cases to ensure the patella stays in place, it is not typically required for every MPFL reconstruction. The decision to perform a TTO depends on the individual patient's anatomy and the extent of their patellar instability.
@@healthdecide : Thanks. You’re awesome. Question: a person with a TT/TG distance that measured at 20 can still have a highly successful MPFL surgery without the TTO surgery, correct? This isn’t medical advice, this is just a hypothetical question.
@@cjzanders5430 Yes, a person with a tibial tubercle to trochlear groove (TT-TG) distance of 20 mm can still have a highly successful medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction without undergoing a tibial tubercle osteotomy (TTO).
The TT-TG distance is a measurement used to assess patellar alignment and the risk of patellar instability. A TT-TG distance greater than 20 mm is often associated with lateral patellar maltracking or instability, but it doesn't necessarily mean that a TTO is required for all patients.
MPFL reconstruction alone can be successful in stabilizing the patella if the main issue is ligamentous laxity or previous injury to the MPFL. If other factors, such as trochlear dysplasia, patellar height, or an excessive Q-angle, are not contributing significantly to instability, MPFL reconstruction can provide good outcomes without the need for TTO.
Ultimately, the decision to perform TTO in addition to MPFL reconstruction depends on a comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s specific anatomical and clinical factors. An orthopedic surgeon will consider these factors to determine the best surgical approach for achieving optimal knee stability and preventing future dislocations.

I had dislocated it last night and a docter put it back but now I'm scared it will happen again so I can't get down from my bed WORST PAIN I'VE EVER FELT I just pray it heals and I don't need surgery I'm 14 btw
I'm 16 I dislocated my knee 2 weeks ago.
Bro can you tell me what happened after! Like did u have a surgery or something alike ? Cuz I am having the same problem as you
if it happens once, unfortunately it may happen again. the first time i did it, it was left out for 4 hours before the fixed it. they had to put me under general anesthesia just to put it back into place, then it snapped out and back into place about a month-ish later. I went about a full year without another dislocation and then i stepped out of my car (yes that's all it took) and it went out again. I'm awaiting on another MRI but my orthopedic surgeon did suggest we may need to do this MPFL reconstruction. if it keeps happening, please see a surgeon, if not even just to get some advice on physio or how to help it. if surgery means it will stop happening and I can gain some confidence in my knee again, i will more than likely do it even tho I am absolutely TERRIFIED. it's about a 6-month recovery time. now that it's been 1.5 year with 3 dislocations on my left knee, i think my right knee is getting bad too.. in the last week or two there has been a lot of pain suddenly in that knee and it feels like it's also unstable and being pulled out. if surgery will help, it may be the best route. because a lot of the time, it will continue to happen. knee ligaments are like leather, unfortunately. once they're stretched, they don't really shrink back up to how the should be like the rubber-band type ligaments in the ankles or wrists. speak with a physician always, and explore your options.
EDIT: this was not meant to scare anyone. it's something i wish would have been explained to me so I would've been less shocked by the second major dislocation (the most recent, technically the 3rd). it is the worst pain i have ever experienced and i live with a very painful chronic, progressive disability. it is unbelievably painful and i do not want it to happen ever again. the nightmares that came after were unbearable too. i hope your situation is better than mine, but always be prepared. wear your brace for as long as you feel you need it. it won't impede your healing to continue to wear it for stability.
@@yaya3403That's interesting to know. I have the same condition but it dislocates in both knees every couple weeks or so which has gone on for 9 years. Currently doing physio. Would you recommend a brace for it?
@@Lakktttt personally i do find that a brace helps.

What is it about ligaments that always tears permanently 😢
Such crude work
I had my MPFL surgery 16 months ago. Got my legs stronger and was almost ready to get back to mma.
However, 3 days ago my knee dislocated from stretching, just a simple pigeon pose stretch is all it took. So sad. Now I don’t what to do
I’m really sorry to hear about your knee dislocating. It’s frustrating, especially after working so hard to get back to strength. Here’s what you can do:
1. Consult Your Surgeon or Specialist: Reach out to your orthopedic surgeon or the specialist who performed your MPFL surgery. They can evaluate the current state of your knee and determine if there’s any damage or if the dislocation is related to the surgery.
2. Rehabilitation and Strengthening: You might need to revisit physical therapy to address the current issue and strengthen the surrounding muscles to provide better support for the knee. Your therapist can also help you with techniques to prevent future dislocations.
3. Avoid High-Risk Activities: Until you get a clear assessment and guidance from your healthcare provider, it’s wise to avoid activities that put a lot of stress on your knee, like MMA or high-impact sports.
4. Recovery and Support: Make sure to follow any recommendations for rest, ice, and possibly bracing to support the knee as it heals.
Stay positive and work closely with your healthcare team to get back on track. Your dedication to rehabilitation and strength training will be key in your recovery process.

Had this happen to me in football practice a couple days ago, worst pain ever felt, my knee is so swollen that i cant bend it. Luckily didnt tear anything.
So glad you didn't tear anything and hope you're feeling better soon!
If it doesnt tear, does it heal back naturally? I dislocated my kneecap almost 1 month ago and i cant fully close my knee or put any weight on it while bent. I use a patella supported kneepad but im scared of having to use it forever. I need an answer pleasee
Same bro Same condition as yours
In some cases it can, but if you still have pain we definitely recommend seeing a knee specialist to make sure there is no significant damage to the bone or to the cartilage and tendons of the knee. Repairing and strengthening the cartilage and ligaments is a preventative measure to restabilize the knee. When patellar dislocation is congenital, the joint can only be repaired through surgery.
@@healthdecide Thanks a Ton! From what i feel, my knee is healing slowly each week with the pain being less and less. But my knee doesnt quite look like my other knee. Will my knee look different after its healed hopefully?
@@muhammadmubashirmubashir5654 wishing you the fastest recovery my friend.
I can speak from personal experience since I dislocated mine two years ago. If you don’t tear it it’s entirely possible to recover within a month or two with good physical therapy. I tore mine when I was working out, slipped, and ended up having my knee go inwards and it dislocated. I was lucky, or crazy enough, to pop it back in myself and get to my room with the help of my mother. Took me about a month and a half to fully recover and week after the injury itself to stop using a leg brace and switched to a knee brace. I never had to wear it all the time but whenever I expected to be active or work out (something I started doing about two weeks post injury). You’ll be fine if you don’t mess around to much with the leg and take it slow the first few weeks and do your Physical therapy at a good doctors office. I even figured out that I’m incredibly susceptible to knee dislocations because my knee cap is malformed and the muscles can’t latch onto it very well. Didn’t stop me from rehabilitation and it hasn’t stopped me since.
Wow so interesting keep sharing
Thank you!

My knee also dislocated about 2 weeks but it hurts when i bend it

What is the success rate of mpfl reconstruction? I am about to get my mpfl surgery done by next month.
how did it go? this was discussed with my ortho surgeon recently but i have to wait for my next MRI To find out if i should consider it. I'm so scared.
@@yaya3403 I had an MPFL reconstruction almost 5 years ago, after years with an unstable knee and recurrent dislocations. Recovery and rehab was tough, but I'm so glad that I decided to have it done. I would have had several more dislocations by now if I hadn't
We hope your surgery and recovery is going well. The success rate of medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction is generally high, with studies reporting success rates ranging from 80% to 95%. Success is typically defined by a reduction in patellar dislocations, improved knee stability, and patient-reported satisfaction.
Several factors can influence the success of MPFL reconstruction, including:
Surgical Technique: Proper surgical technique is crucial for aligning the patella and reconstructing the ligament correctly.
Patient-Specific Anatomy: Individual variations in knee anatomy, such as trochlear dysplasia or patellar height, can affect outcomes.
Rehabilitation and Recovery: Adherence to a structured rehabilitation program and allowing sufficient time for healing are essential for optimal results.
Overall, most patients experience a significant improvement in knee stability and a reduction in episodes of patellar dislocation after MPFL reconstruction.

A slight rupture in this ligament requires this surgery?
No, one dislocation or minor tear usally does not require surgery. This surgery may be indicated after multiple dislocations or other factors like anatomical issues that may lead to more frequent dislocations.
I dislocated my patella with my own hand - knee was sore, I was wiggling the bone GENTLY and it slid right out. Thankfully it went right back in again but it wasn’t fun. Found out a few years later I have hEDS.
Thank God for science!!!
Is that repair good for sports does it weaken anything else. I was told I tore mine and that it will just heal on its own with immobilization but I don’t believe because Alberta’s healthcare system made me wait 8 hours for an x-ray where it slid back in place
It depends, in a good number of cases the MPFL can heal on its own without the need for an operation and therefore some people with a MPFL tear can return to normal activities with the help of exercises and physiotherapy. But if you have recurrent dislocations, surgery may be necessary.
Once it’s happens once it stretches out making it easier to dislocate. This is my 6th one and I’m ready for a treatment but wanna know the same thing. Can I still play sports after?? Or will it affect it.
