    Your new level of consistency is astounding and enlightening. I love the way you mangle Derek around in the past few episodes and carry analogies around that cross over from one video to the next. I watched your old volume video with Ross and how he kept injecting himself with more serum, and you've gone quite a ways. Judging by you doing constant beats for one year, I can imagine you doing vids with more ease to the same level if you do this for a while. I learn so much by seeing what you see through your point of view. Even among other musicians like Andrew Huang, Adam Neely, Ben Levin, you consistently make excellent music and examples to humorously show other folks hungry for the good stuff.
    Even your most recent stream with Joe is unparalleled with live humor. You take production to a new level and I hope you continue to make it.

    TBT i once found his video in the internet when i was a beginner and i found that "you suck at producing" and felt anger, after experiencing it myself this channel is so comforting

    - Quantize 100% and then Re add human errors via grooves
    - MPC swing grooves are good the first number means the the timing the second number means the intensity of the groove

    Thanks for these videos Fumbernelly, every time I watch them I learn something new about Ableton but also about myself. Like how do I make my drums a little bit crispier, why are my claps so loud, and why am I erect? All these questions and more, and you provide the answers.

    i think this one helped me out the most. i was always wondering how ppl got these crazy swung double and triple kick patterns without makin it sound like a computer did it
    this is like using a computer to do the opposite of what its supposed to do . perfectly quantized straight beats sound lke assssss

    What drum samples do you use ? I'm starting to produce lo fi / chill stuff but my drums sound not as close as good as yours do

    • @dffgffffffdddddddddd
      @dffgffffffdddddddddd 6 років тому +4

      Well, look at the name of his snare sample, "CastelluzzoSnare". Now, pay attention to the "Castelluzo" part.
      It seems that this dude has a soundcloud at soundcloud.com/castelluzzo

    • @mrdmt974

      Check his early video on drums, her gives a link to his sample pack there.

    • @AfferbeckBeats
      @AfferbeckBeats 6 років тому +1

      If you're using a kit that uses Sampler, try the Shaper settings under the Filter/Global tab. It makes drums punchy and crunchy as hell. Soft and Hard are the only real usable settings, and Hard gets over the top real quick. Makes hi hats sound awesome in particular.

    I wouldn't say syncopation is caused by humans being imperfect but rather intentionally as a stylistic device

    • @AfferbeckBeats
      @AfferbeckBeats 6 років тому +3

      Yeah, definitely when playing with a certain feel. But even great drummers will have slight variation in their timing making no two bars perfectly identical, and that really adds to the human feel, vs electronic styles of music where it really is identical throughout the entire song.

    Let's dedicate a minute of silence for all the Uighur drummers who were abducted by the chinese government in order to harvest their organs and DNA to make groove libraries. We would not have been able to reverse engineer humans in this way if it wasn't for their sacfrifice. Plus uncle Joe would not have had his kidney replaced in time, so he could disturb underbelly's childhood and make him the good boy he is, god forbid.
