2019 really a re-milestone for Indonesia. After 2013 we made it to Top 15 after 8 years (the first time we made it to top 15 was in 2005) now we made it to Top 10 (actually Indonesia deserves to Top 5 too). Next year, we expect more. We hope for our first crown. Maybe in 1-2 years next.
Miss Indonesia should have entered Top 5 instead of Colombia. Frederikke gown was amazing..

I just noticed that there is a phenomenon called "Catriona and the South African Connection" : Catriona was crowned by a South African, her First Runner Up was a South African and her successor is a South African. A bonus one is that Miss World 2013 Megan Young crowned a South African. Philippines and South Africa had a great friendship in terms of beauty pageant is concerned.

There's also a phenomenon called The Catriona Effect in ASEAN countries where they think they'll win pageants if they keep sending Western-educated half-white girls that talk and act like Catriona. Wild card was not the strongest. Wild card is the second chance for those to be picked where their score is not in top 5 from their region.
