@@nj7541 If true that she got the fans vote,,, How is that even sad?… That just shows how well she did, how admired she was, or how impressive she stood out that the worlds fans took to her. She’s from a small country, 7 million. Doubtful her home fans would have the numbers to overcome some of the big countries fans (like Philippines, Vietnam, Great Britain, France, Brazil, etc) in voting for their own girls, thus it had to be the combination of many foreign fans who adored her enough to get her the win… That’s very good.
@@nj7541 It’s not sad , in the opposite it’s huge ! When fans vote for her, it means the majority of people around the world who see differently and vote for her ! Think about vote is not free ! It costs lots of money 💰 $$$$$ ! Laos is a small and poor country, but got the biggest number of votes from people around the world … MU Organization must get lots of money from people who vote for her !!!! ( I was wondering how much money she got from that …?!?!? )
Correction: The longest _ongoing_ streak has ended. The USA had 22 placements from 1977 to 1998. That's 22 years, 10 years longer than the Philippines. Meanwhile, Venezuela placed from 1983 to 2003. That's 21 years. Philippines is ranked 3rd with the longest streak in Miss Universe, from 2010 to 2021 (12 years), just behind USA and Venezuela. Right now though, the longest _ongoing_ streak is _still_ 12. How? Because Miss USA has been placing from 2011 to 2022. Had Miss USA 2010 placed, their ongoing streak would've been 13 as of today.
@@grayleonhardt8631 Correction: @user-ux5ze3gy6w said the "COUNTRY's longest streak," you should definitely read before you correct someone. You are hilarious.

My admiration and applause to Miss. Universe competition this year it is more interesting then previous years. I like the way they show brief background of each person who were selected for 16 finalists, love the way they present themselves about their idea, interests, and inspiration to make the world better by joining this contest, in their home country background, with all their lovely speaking accents. This amazing change of the show I believe come with Khun Ann Jakkhaphong...Cheer from Thailand!
Yes .. and what i realised they don't choose or want someone who is physically beautiful or having good body or have lavishing or shining cloth... Or fron powerhouse country or etc ... They want a good kind hearted speaker as a miss universe who can reach to people talk to them and ofcourse force for the good .. people hated this year's decision and insulted MU because their favourite countries didn't win and commented bad things choosing unworthy countries but for me i think all the countries in top 16 really deserving.... All the women who participated are worthy ❤️☺️
LOOOOVED the Top 16. This Top 16 showed us that MU is not anymore about having the winning formula. It's about how you show you need MU to bring your cause forward
For transparency, they should release all contestant interviews. If the closed door interview made those who didn't perform in the semifinals enter top 16, then we should hear how they answered the interviews. If they were able to inspire the judges, they can inspire more people.

Everyone is so unhappy that Philippine didn’t make it or that other favorite contestants that was mostly featured on the media. The top 16 was definitely a surprise, but if you look at their platform and what they stand for it was really good. That was the theme this year, they stated that it doesn’t matter about your culture or background, it’s what you bring to the table…women empowerment and how you stand for your platform. It takes more than just a pretty face and strong walk to get to the top.
You can see that the deligates that entered the first cut are dedicated and passionate about their advocacies. Besides, I also noticed that the new era of Miss Universe is looking for a good ambassador of the organization
@@williamcleary1102 If there's one candidate who can atone for Celeste Cortesi's unplacement and help the Philippines get back to placing in Miss Universe, it's Pauline Amelinckx.
I agree, yes Phillipines is beautiful but she did not impress me too much this year, it felt like she didn't have a strong platform and her costume did not have much effort
This is the strong Top 16 so far! They have strong advocacies and great communication skills, they exude a Global Ambassador kind-of aura to me which makes them all qualified to be Miss Universe!
I'd love to see the old version of the MU top 16 call (under IMG) specially for these past few years, when there was a simple Q&A session for each contestant as it could help the selection committee to give a score by seeing how well they communicate directly before deciding on the top 5 instead from a record. Also about the selection committee, it could be biased due to most of the judges are from USA or the America continent (8 out of 10 judges) unlike last year's selection committee. We love to see more variety of judges from different continents for upcoming MU ❤️
South East Asia which is undoubtedly the biggest market for Miss Universe is totally shut out I think this would hurt the brand specially in Thailand where they’re going to commercialize Miss Universe
I dont think judges are bias top 16 all deserved to be there and the top 5 performed really well. Being in the top 16 was already well selected smart women because they were all interviewed already. Top 16 competes who did the best poise pasarela being confident how they carry them selves on the stage! Top 5 compete for who asnwer the question well all the way to top 3!
Yes I prefer the format of 16, 10, 5. I want Top 5 to give countries a chance to shine. Please bring back the glam of Miss Universe and at the same time, empowering women. It will be fun if you show the preliminary and final scores on the final telecast. I love this years production by the way. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Listening to the candidates, they definitely have a platform they have been and currently involved and advocating. The problem I see with Bb. Pilipinas Universe is the lack of a platform or any activity they are passionate getting involved. Beauty is not everything and the Philippines relies on this criteria. Presentation is everything from the time of arrival and complemented by intelligence and platform.
bea gomez had pretty unique advocacies that she had been working on before she joined MUPH, hence her top 5 finish in MU. celeste and her team certainly didn't take cues from that. they just banked on her looks and pasarela, and pretty much ignored her comm skills and advocacies. never heard one from her during MUPH, hence the org had to force one on her after her coronation

After all knowing it was fan votes that got her a spot in top 16 is sad
@@nj7541 Hi. So how do you know it was fan votes for her? Did they reveal that somewhere?
@@lamusiquefanatique Anne revealed it on her live
( I was wondering how much money she got from that …?!?!? )

A sad day for the Philippines, the country's longest streak in Miss Universe has ended. 12 years (2010-2021). Still, you made us proud Celeste! ❤️

This is the strong Top 16 so far! They have strong advocacies and great communication skills, they exude a Global Ambassador kind-of aura to me which makes them all qualified to be Miss Universe!
Congratulations to Miss Laos !
The Asian girls this year were boring, the only 3 remarkable asian ladies were, India, Laos and Thailand
South East Asia which is undoubtedly the biggest market for Miss Universe is totally shut out I think this would hurt the brand specially in Thailand where they’re going to commercialize Miss Universe
I agree with last part judges should come from diffirent countries.
I think we should stop calling the org or judges biased when we don't see our favourites being selected.

So glad they didn't make it to the semifinal Philippines has been overrated last few years or had connections between the organization to get a pass
bea gomez had pretty unique advocacies that she had been working on before she joined MUPH, hence her top 5 finish in MU. celeste and her team certainly didn't take cues from that. they just banked on her looks and pasarela, and pretty much ignored her comm skills and advocacies. never heard one from her during MUPH, hence the org had to force one on her after her coronation
