3D Mixed Media Art - True Colors

For my first piece as a member of Shawn Petite's Creative Team I wanted to see if I could use Shawn's stencils and collage paks to create a 3D mixed media piece! Inspired by Shawn's product range I had a very clear idea of what it was that I wanted to do and as soon as I started looking through her wonderful collection my idea very quickly became reality.
The piece is inspired by the lyrics of one of my favorite songs, True Colors, written by Tom Kelly and Billy Steinberg. The piece shows the courageous journey from a place of sorrow to a place of fulfilment as it is only by stepping into our greatness, by allowing our true colors to show we can really soar and flourish. This journey is depicted by the butterflies growing in color, size and strength and eventually lifting away from the main body of work. I found so much joy in creating this piece and I hope you will too.
