I love to see someone wearing a bright pop of colour, especially during our cold and sometimes dreary winters. If I see a woman who stands out, I will always compliment her. It usually makes them smile, and that lifts my mood.
That’s such a lovely habit! A little pop of color really does brighten up the winter blues, and your compliments spread even more warmth-what a beautiful way to lift others up! 😊
My wild card is a coat. In November, just before my birthday I went shopping with my husband for a black coat. I tried on a few,but nothing was quite right and then he came over with something and said 'This is you. You must try it on'. Oh no, no no. There's no way I am going to wear a bright but deep teal coat. Reader, I tried it on and fell in love. The perfect coat, the perfect fit and the perfect colour. I looked fabulous, but it was too expensive, double my budget and more than I've ever spent on any item of clothing. My lovely man insisted I had to have it and bought it for me as a combined birthday/christmas present. I have worn it twice and felt a million dollars. Now I need to get past the mindset that it's just for best and far too good for every day wear. So - a wild card and a pop of colour over my usual black in one item. I shall wear it tomorrow!
I absolutely love that you have someone who picked a spectacular coat that makes you feel so good. How wonderful! An occasional super-splurge is a special thing.
What an incredible story-and what a thoughtful husband! That teal coat sounds like a true treasure, not just for its beauty but for the confidence and joy it brings you. You absolutely deserve to feel like a million dollars every day, so wear it with pride! It’s too fabulous to stay in the closet. 😊
Great advice! At Longwood Gardens over Christmas my cousin and I saw a woman with a beautiful pale pink long puffy coat on - perfect for the very cold temps but not the drab and dreary black puffer coat almost every other woman was wearing - she stood out like a beautiful flower in the midst of winter! It wouldn't work for me, but it was so, so right for her. Having said that, I do like myself in black and camel in the winter and was surprised that I did, so I'll wear them as long as they still make me happy, because I'm confident in them - "A happy girl is a pretty girl," attributed to Audrey Hepburn, I believe 😀!
Mary, thank you for sharing that story about the woman in the pink puffy coat and how it made you feel! And keep wearing black and camel if it makes you happy - I love that Audrey Hepburn quote, too! 💕
One of my wildcards is a lime green rain slicker with white polkadots.. I get more compliments on it than anything else I wear and I love it. Great ideas!
My wild card is my leopard footwear. I have loafers, ankle boots and high heels. A pair for all seasons and occasions. Every time I wear them I feel like a rock star and people notice and compliment them. A definite confidence booster.
My wildcard was a charcoal grey sweater with a colorful hummingbird on it. I haven't worn it yet this season, but I intend to. Thanks for these helpful tips.
I have never owned a red coat I bought me a winter coat and it happened to be red and it looks like a cardinal red I bought it and I loved it but the winter coat is a real heavy thick coat made for Arctic air and it just keeps me warm when I go out I don't feel no cold but it is red and then I bought a red hat to match it and I look like a red bird when I go out😄

Last season I purchased a pink winter coat. I LOVE it. So tired of black.
I love that! 💕
My winter coat is Robin’s Egg blue and is a great contrast to black and navy
I got a winter coat in a fern green w/ a suede texture.
That sounds beautiful!
That coat sounds gorgeous to wear with black or navy! 💙

Good advice! I have gotten into neutrals the last couple of years. Im going to try the wild card idea by purchasing a few color ideas. Thanks!😊
