Thanks for all the kind words folks! This amp was a lot of fun to test. Check it out here: 🛒 Thomann - bit.ly/3QMWRmu 🛒 Guitar Center - guitar-center.pxf.io/y2oXyV 🛒 Artist Guitars - bit.ly/3QNzY2w 🛒 Amazon Ca - amzn.to/3SKY5RQ 🛒 Amazon DE - amzn.to/3sKrJvW (affiliate links)
I agree. Especially, if it’s a simple channel switch. I know when I purchased my katana, I had to purchase the GA - FC controller for $100 more. Although I can kind of understand paying more in addition for a foot switch like that, since it has more functionality, it still kind of stinks to have to do that.
For me - it's having an effects loop in such an affordable and portable package - with a "proper" valve pre-amp stage. I much prefer an effects loop over a built-in reverb, with the footswitch as a major bonus. I'm seriously considering one of the higher-gain versions of this.
These are a screaming deal, and they're so affordable that you can buy the entire series. Having the EFX loop is preferable as I can choose what effects to run through the amp. This punches well above its price point.
You are correct, that amp punches well above its weight. Love the guitar too, for some reason it reminds me of a range ZZ Top were using a few years ago. Have you tried any of the Hotone mini amps? They go alright.
Sounds nice! I liked the clean and off clean/low gain sounds. Higher gain sounded a little harsh compared to the real thing, but FOR the $ it's GREAT value! Nice 1 Shane! TRY all of them thru that Marshall 212 box mate! THAT would thump!
Joyo is delivering a lot of amp for the money. And they have loads of other genre specific amps, too. Fun video, Shane! These tiny things are easy on the back!
These Joyo amps are nice. Great value in all honesty. Get a cheap cab and throw in a nice celestron V30 or a Swamp thang and have a nice tone monster rig for the money..
I bought one of these about 12 months ago as I'd planned on using it in the living room with a 2x12. I ended up bringing the Katana in and the Jackmans still sitting in the box LOL
Its a great sounding little amp. Along with digital reverb, i would love it if they would include a 3 band eq on each chanel. It would be a simple upgrade to include, and would open up a lot more options.
I like that the headphone output issnt right next to the speaker out, theres far to many amps out there with side by side ports just waiting to fry your cans! 😢😂
Another cool amp from Joyo!! For me, I’ve always been a combo player and these series of Joyo amps are a great sounding, affordable introduction to the amp and cab world. I pose a question for anyone in the comments; what cab would you recommend for these Joyo heads and any other 20 watt head? I’d looking for something starting on the more affordable side of the spectrum. Thank you all for your input and Shane for the great video!😎😎🎸🎸🤙🏾
Would there be a way to run this to the Joyo IR box if I needed to go direct? Thanks for showing clean and the chicken style licks. I do country and rock gigs, and hearing it do something besides shred rocks. Great video. I’ve subscribed.
These are amazing amps. I used to own quite a few Marshalls and this sounds as close to my best Marshalls as any amp I’ve used. I run a delay/reverb pedal and noise gate in the effects loops. Just superb. My favorite tone is using the clean channel with the gain up to 3:00 or more. It cleans up great and is a great overdrive tone. Very touch responsive as well. These sound great in a large cabinet but are best with 8 ohms - more power than 16. I agree, it’s a set and forget amp and I don’t miss 3 band EQ’s. I have gigged with this thru a 1x12 in a 5 piece rock band with no issues. You can even run the effects loop into a higher powered amp return (like a Katana) and get these great tones with more volume. Rumors are that the clean is the same across the range, but I’m not sure about that. So for less than the cost of many effects pedals, go buy one of these. Thanks for the great review.
It sounds cool. Looks great and is crazy portable. But it sounds a little small...no worries cause I'll buy one just to keep it as a spare backup if I crap out at a gig! Put it in my toolbox! Thanks!
SORRY SHANE ! -ive heard back on my old Headphones - Bloody massive difference mate- New Headphones not as good for picking frequencies up- let that be a warning to others - change your headphones and dont skimp on that LOL-also i thinkingof going to order 2 of these or 1 tweed and aJackman ii -runing in tandem - I got a 2x12 Celestion 65 Creameback Cab and 212 Celestion V TypeCab -how do you think these speakers would suit Shane?-many thanks Sir

Every amp company should give you the foot switch, instead of a separate purchase, sounds surprisingly good, thanks Shane
They're crazy easy to make... but yeah they should.

I’ve wanted one of those for a few years. Glad I waited for for version 2!

Paradise by the BanTamP lights. Sounds great. Love mine. With the effects loop, I spend hours just dialing in sounds.

Until seeing you hold one up in the video, I thought these things were a little bigger. Great little box to have on hand in case your main amp dies.
Superb playing Shane, what a little beauty, soooo compact and versatile. The future is in this type of stuff. Great review. Cheers ✌️🎸
Informative, concise review, as usual. Thank you, for your commitment to excellence.

That little amp sounds incredible! Hadn’t thought about using one as a backup before, but it would be perfect for that. 🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸

Just wondering if you prefer this or the joyo bantamp tweed for a clean to srv style tone. Great video❤
Thanks Shane, I saw a previous video with the original amp. This sounds AMAZING.
0:55 i sensed a little "brothers in arms" vibe there, nice
Sounds nice!
I liked the clean and off clean/low gain sounds.

Nice 1 Shane!
TRY all of them thru that Marshall 212 box mate! THAT would thump!
Ive had one of these, through a Zilla 212 cab. sounded fantastic, and the bluetooth feature is very handy.
I'm learning & being able to play along with your favorite tunes on the Bluetooth connectivity is a nice feature as well
Sounds great Shane, and all that in a Lunchbox!!, 2 channels and nice and 20 watts and worth giving it a Try 🤘🎸🤠
Joyo is delivering a lot of amp for the money. And they have loads of other genre specific amps, too. Fun video, Shane! These tiny things are easy on the back!
that sounds great. looking forward to hearing the mesa inspired one.
It's on the way :)
@@intheblues soon?
Can’t wait to hear the shootout between the models! I’d love one of these but how to choose which model??
It's on the way, stay tuned :)
the bluetooth is just excellent for play over a backing track, it just so convenient to just connect it to my phone and start playing something

Agreed about the reverb, imagine a 40watt with reverb. I would love to see these as a combo too, but with a 12inch speaker
Really good sounding amp, but I was paying more attention to that Maybury guitar. That's a beautiful guitar with great tones.🎸🎶
Thanks, Sean. That guitar is such a great axe! Cheers mate.
Super cool Demo Shane, your always awesome
I've got the Zombie version and it's amazing - really works both clean and dirty and my pedals never sounded better
That's things dangerous!!! Thx. Shane.
Going to be a very interesting review of 2023 gear later on...

Nice touch and playing!
This is a complete package. I need a backup amplifier as well to my Vox.
This thing sounds amazing! Great review!

The Randall RG8 is a good affordable cabinet, I use mine with a Hotone nano amp.
The Harley Benton cabs.

I run mine into to orange pedalbaby and it's incredible, eq pedal in the loop too
Love the simplicity. Forget a reverb feature ,just add your own
Some of these are on sale arm on the cyber week 🎉

Blu Oyster Cult vibes🤘🏻
some nice runs in thar boss
I have one of these and a Bluejay. Mounted right on my pedal board. Who needs a 70 pound amplifier anymore? Not I.
Sweet little amp head, the only problem is there's too many great choices now to be able to pic a favourite! 😂

A key point how loud is it? Can it keep up with loud drums and still be clean?
What cabinet did you use?
how much is a spare tube for this? Sounds good to me.
I wonder if these better than valvestates.
Which cabinet you have used for this video please?
for beginners looking to get into blues style playing would you prefer this amp or the tweedy?
The Tweedy would be my pick for straight up blues for sure.
I love the dirty channel $269 at Artist guitars for a valve is very interesting
All the Marshall you need without selling your soul .
The heck with askin the wife I'm buying one
