I regularly have to take the 4-6 hr train from Montreal to Toronto. I get the tickets on sale so its usually only 10-20$ extra for business class where you get honestly similar treatment instead of more basic services. Menu explained over the speaker in french and English than and again to each guest. Included fancy multicourse meals, snacks drinks including paired Ontario and Québec wines. I usually get pretty tispy by the time im in Toronto.
Inside jokes on long trips a real thing, so are nicknames if enough french passengers are there. Once my nickname was Electron. The joke was my presence drained everyones phone batteries so everyone in my section was sharing one C-type charger. Eventually the claim became my cane was a lightning rod (im blind and dont walk well lol.) By the end of our 6 hours together I think they felt like they were accidentally insulting me and felt awkward but also obligated to keep going lol

I did this trip on the non-luxurious Amtrak, and the scenery on the ride is incredible and the mooning on the river is very fun with everyone on the train cheering🤠

For that price tag I thought that it felt a bit cheap to have you eat your meals on the tray table at your seat. Having a real dining car with nice table linen would make it so much more luxurious. We just came back from a train excursion in Alaska and while it was only half a day, we had a double decker car with the upper seating pretty much like the Rocky Mountaineer, except they had the bar at the front of that train and on the lower level was the dining room.

I used to commute from Philly to NYC 3x a week with Amtrak back when it was 55 each way last min cheaper if you bought in advance. One time 25 years ago we took the car train thing from Virginia to Florida it was quite the experience. I love you guys going on adventures together, may I suggest you guys go to the east coast and charter a cat with crew, tax write off!!!
