You looked stunning with short hair and even prettier now with long hair. I also had to cut a pixie because I really KILLED my hair with too many colors, so thanks for this video I needed it
this is the buzz cut update I needed! I keep trimming my mullet and wondering if I’m negatively impacting my growth, cuz like you said, everyone tells you not to :)
Your sides filled in so nice. My sides are still wispy because the top layers are short and haven’t read the bottom of my ears yet so it looks so wispy around my ears. I hate it. I can’t wait to get the layers back to ear length so it kind of fills that area in. ❤️
this was the most real buzzcut video. I HATE mine so much and am just waiting for my hair to grow out too i just made it to 3 months, wish me luck. Definitely took away feeling like a female for me and thats what bothers me the most.
You are so beautiful, this video really helped me, i am on my 5 month of growth now, and I want to just let it do its thing. :) but i was curious about how long it’s gonna be when it hits the one year mark
Babe!!! I hope you see this! How did you grow it out to a blunt bob?? Help!!! I just did the shave due to horrible hair damage and want to grow it out like you did. What did you do?? Did you let it all grow out and ONLY trim the neckline and sides at the same time or just the neckline for awhile only???❤️
Congrats!! Welcome to the family ahaha... To answer your question, after I first cut it (I used a 2 guard), I just let it be for about 2.5-3 months before I trimmed it. I only used scissors at my neckline, and let my sideburns and other parts of my hair be. I continued trimming the back (into a straight line) once a month, with the hair there getting thicker as the top layers grew long enough to reach the part I was cutting. When my sideburns and sides grew to my chin, I started trimming them too. I kept doing this until March, which is when I cut all of the bottom (back and sides) to right below my ear. This meant that the back was slightly shaved again at the very neckline, and then cut bluntly around where my ears are. From there, I just let it grow, and only have to trim it once since then to even out some of the bottom and top layers. My biggest tip is to keep the neckline cut, then join the sides when they reach that length, and then continue cutting it until the top layers of your hair pretty much reach the same length. Then you can let it grow all that you want! Sorry this was so long haha, I know that I would've wanted an in depth explanation too.
@@sylviamarie9170 also sorry one more question when was your hair finally all one length? Was that in one year only as well? Or do you think I could still grow it with layers and it look okay?
@@siaw6487 hah sorry, don't think that I trust myself with anyone else's hair!! When I stopped cutting it march of 2018, it was still kind of layered, with the top layer shorter than the bottom. I didn't end up trimming it to entirely all the same length until that December, but that's just because I liked the layer look and didn't have any problem with it. So it doesn't necessarily need to be completely the same length to look like a bob, but it needs to be pretty close so that the layers don't look too crazy
@@sylviamarie9170 did you trim the back yourself Sylvia and if so how did you do it?? ❤️ thanks so much for your help. I'm feeling ugly this morning. I keep wearing my wig. :(
Hey Sylvia!! So I’m growing out a shaved head and wondered how did you get rid of all your short layers so fast?? Did you just keep having the bottom cut til they were gone? Also, I especially wondered, did you ever have the layers cut or blended? ♥️
Congrats on shaving your head! Honestly, it took a good year and a half to completely get rid of the layers. In this video, the layers on top were still a good inch and a half shorter than the longer bottom layers. Even though they weren't exactly the same length, I stopped cutting the bottom just so it could grow a little longer and mask the unevenness. So yes and no, I did cut it till the layers were close enough that it looked alright, but they were definetly not all the same length when I stopped. I stopped around 10 months. I didn't blend my layers until just a couple of months ago, but with my hair type the layers looked fine even if they weren't perfect.
@@sylviamarie9170 I measured and my layers would be completely gone by next June if I kept the hair jaw length til than. (All my layers are 4 inches long so far but I did get the very bottom cut to ear length and that’s all) ugh.. I’m wondering if I should just keep cutting the bottom and keeping my hair jaw length until they’re gone. I just don’t want a stylist to blend or cut any layers because every stylist I see always cuts them way to short and I have to start over again. (From a previous experience lol) my top layers will almost be the same length as the rest of my hair by February if I keep it ear length til than. Is that kind of what you did? So far the layers are all the same length 10 months in now. :) thanks for helping me girl! I’m afraid to have the layers trimmed or blended. I would rather leave them alone than have a stylist mess up my growth. I don’t know what to do but I like your way 🙁
thank you so much!! I'm glad that you're gonna shave your hair one day, like I said in the video, I think everyone should do it once in their life! And I will say, it was really easy to take care of when it was super short . (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
@@sylviamarie9170 how did you get the layers on both sides all the same length when you parted it on the side? I measured mine (with hair parted in the middle) and they’re 3 inches away from catching up to the bottom and being the same length all around but!!… I measured and if I wear a side part once it’s all caught up, the layers will still be a little shorter on the side it’s parted over on. Is that normal because it’s parted so has father to reach the ends? I hope that made sense! 💕💕 lol 🙈
i buzz my hair also and i hope i will not regret it❤️ my hair is in my waist then goes the buzz cut.i actually need the money from my hair for my sisters therapy and its worth it,i think hshs
Hi sylviamarie did you trim the back yourself? You looked cute all the way through! I can only be so lucky. It looks so ugly right now. If I don't use pomade it sticks straight up looks so unfeminine :( But the damage had to be taken off somehow. It was awful.
Yes, I did trim it myself! If there's someone in your life that you'd trust with your hair, I would suggest asking them to cut the back for you. I know that you can't see it, but my hair is LOADED with gel and hairspray pretty much all the way thru the year. I'm sorry that you feel unfeminine, just try to remember that your hair does not define beauty or femininity! I'm sure that your hair will grow back strong and healthy
1:59 The only way to get a mullet is to cut the top, but you were growing it out from all of the same length, and now it’s an undercut/bob/blunt and way shorter at the bottom and you have practically no length in the back. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with trimming the back to get it to be blunt instead of having the natural shape of the back being further down, but I’m just saying that you wouldn’t have a mullet had you not done that. Sun/02/14/2021 at 25:35
I guess the way that I saw it was that letting the bottom grow without trimming it would make the back long and the front short, since the hair was all technically the same length. It's kind of hard to describe in text, but I would consider it a super-layered mullet. So yes, you can definetly let the back grow for the illusion of length, but I found that all of the layers would make the hair seem thin and mullet-like. That's just my opinion, though (◠ᴥ◕ʋ)
sylviamarie It would make them all even, and it wouldn’t look mullety, but rather just how human hair naturally grows/where it is on your head, so Ig you could call it natural layers in terms of where the different parts fall down to, and then you cut it blunt, which is fine ofc, but I’m just saying what it is.
I think I trimmed all of it? I let my sideburns and lower level of hair on the sides grow until it matched with the back, and then I cut the back and side to the same length.
@@sylviamarie9170 oh ok thank you so much. I went and had my back trimmed but it looks like I have a damn tail or something so I gotta go back tomorrow lol.
I'd say that they were about at the middle of my ear, which was about an inch and a half shorter than the bottom layers. So yes, but not very noticeably so.
Well all of your hair grows around the same rate, but since some of the hair is growing out of the top of your head and some is growing near your neck, even if the hairs themselves are the exact same length, how long they look is going to be different. So if you're growing out a buzz cut, the hair right on top of your head could be only 3 inches, and look really short, while the hair below your ears and near your neck will also be 3 inches, but almost touch your shoulders. So it would look like a mullet, with the top short, and bottom "long". That's why I decided to keep trimming the bottom until the top layer of my hair met the length of the shorter bottom layers. Sorry if I'm rambling haha, I hope that this makes sense!! 。◕‿◕。
