When i was young I played this 45 record till i wore it out. Incredible vocals. I now 68 years old. This is the first time I've seen what the singers looked like.
And what do you think now that you’ve seen them? I’m 40 and that’s the first time I’ve seen them and grew up hearing it on my dads radio station and of course the lion king lol.

Impossible to not love it! Did y'all know it was originally written in 1939, in the Zulu language? Now the whole world knows it and loves it...thank you, Tokens.
The Tokens were pro-civil rights, as shown here. An all-white male doo-wop group from Brooklyn NY performing a cover of a Zulu folk song in the early 1960's just screams "down with racism" to me.
Loved this song as a kid in the 60's. I always played it at the local café we went to on occasion where the juke box things were at the tables. Today I think he was ahead of his time and could have been a star in 80's hair band music!

On occasion when this song gets in my head I feel like I’m in heaven and have it on repeat mode all day as I sing along to it! This will be my next karaoke song but I’m going to have to learn how to do harmonies and say that most complicated word I can’t even attempt spelling but you know the word as it’s the basis of the entire song!!!
