Can't believe I just found this guide. This is the least stressful guide out of the rest I've seen thus far.
I started playing AK right after this event had ended, so this is basically new event for me, not rerun. And I gotta say, the stage is quite hard with all the gimmicks, but your guides are simple, simply just a great guide. Thanks.

Hey man, just wanted to give a big THANK YOU for this video, it helped me a lot with my clear. I didn't have an Eyjafjalla that I could use, so I had to play around with substituting her with other units a bit, but ultimately I got your overall strategy to work for me.
I needed to find some replacement arts damage or anti-defense unit to replace Eyja with, so one thing I tried was using Schwarz with her Final Tactics skill because of her anti-defense ability, but I ran out of plans to test things out and I accidentally let a unit slip through because I forgot to activate her skill.
I ultimately ended up replacing Eyja with Amiya and Matterhorn with Liskarm using Counter Arc, and it worked out ok, I finally got my clear, thanks again!
That really helped me this rerun. I actually just got Eyja from the Thorn banner, but I can't promote her until Caster chips are up, and nobody lists her as S2 on Support. But, I do have Liskarm at high enough level.
Thank you! I finally cleared this, my last extra stage challenge left undone ;;;; I tried using some other video guides but couldn't make it work, but referencing your placements helped me bring home the clear!

Thanks so much for the guide! I consulted three other guides before chancing upon this, and yours has been the easiest to follow (for me). Especially for the early parts of the map. My shaw is only skill6 so I used a friend saria in place of curora and my own angelina in place of hibiscus. The combination of ange S3 + shaw push worked like a charm; aside from the times when mobs get pushed pasted my defender (luckily on my third try the mob decided to walked back on his own?)
The absolute worst challenge mission ever designed by the developers up until this point. What a joke.
Should not have been that big of a pain in the ass to finish, but thanks to your guide, I finally managed it. Matterhorn MVP!

Replacing Eyja with Amiya is doable, just make sure she's at high lv and replace the defender for someone with a bit more dmg. Liskarm E2 S1 is alright.

Nice, works like a charm. Substituted some people and skills but otherwise works as shown.
If you have DP problem, find a support friend who have siege hammer, it helps a lot

Couldn't get this strat to work w/o Eyjafjalla nor a leveled up Vigna & Cuora, so had to resort to a Myrtle strat. Probably should have attempted this before the last day. I consumed all my practice plan points & ended up sinking probably at least 10 normal attempts worth of sanity (approx. 50-60 sanity since each failure only costs 5, and success costs 10). Like many others have said before myself, I also finished OF-EX6 before I could finish this one.
Wow almost my strat except the aoe medic is facing top and the defender is on top, eyja facing top as well.
Anyway you haven't farmed the obsidian milestone yet, Ecko?

why not get from friends
SBB support refresh are also an rng. when you want SA or Ifrit for example they give you Healers like Silence or the likes of Hoshiguma or Chen.
Tips for 1 month old account like me. You only have 18 fckin DP available to block first enemies. If your Vigna cost 10 DP you need Myrtle with 8 DP cost.
If you dont have Myrtle you can borrow. She makes this stage easier (S1M3 Myrtle). Place her behind Vigna instead of Fang.
No Eyja? Its fine. This stage also works with E2 Amiya Caster Skill 3 lvl 7 use her skill at the last wave of shield boys.
Heres my deployment order (follow ecko's placement): Vigna, Myrtle, Courier, Sniper, Plume, Perfumer, Cuora, Shaw, Amiya(on Eyja's placement), Remove Vigna, Medic(on Cuora's side), Remove Myrtle, Defender(Gummy Skill 2 can work too), remove Courier, deploy last medic. Use Amiya and Gummy skill on last wave. WATCH OUT for spider leaking bring fast redeploy. Bring strong sniper like Exu. Goodluck Dokutahs!

What might one do if they just, don't have Eyja? I guess I could use a support and hope I can find somebody who has her lmfao.

I just hate how I have gotten all of the Challenge, including OF-EX6.
But can't beat OF-EX5...
Is Matterhorn a requirement, or are there any other Operators that could do a similar job?
If you have silence you could try her and put down healing drones to help healing.
the one Eyja on my friends list uses Ignition rather than Volcano for some odd reason so it took me ages to find a guide that works with just a skill 2 Eyja...why is this stage so hard?!?
Her S2 is great when you need the consistent damage.
so the hard thing about this is the initial DP? interesting.
The DP regen is cut by 1/3 for the entire duration.
I'm still struggling with this stage even after I'm done with challenge mode for stage 6
