45 min a Golem lol no thanks. The nostalgia I get is from my old friends who gather around playing Clash and watching each other attack wars in the classroom. Sadly it's only memories now.
this one true it the most frustrated and annoying thing clash ever have ... it just now you feel pressure if just attack once or twice because training potion kinda force you to play at least one hour(it duration)... so do some of us miss simplicity absolutely, do we miss the friends that we make in clash that all quit because the game became burdensome and time consuming than make the game (especially in clan) not fun to play,,, 100% what happened to me....
@@frustationoverloaded5976 Yeah old clash was REALLY slow. One Pekka took 45 minutes to train, just one. It would take HOURS just to train an army. I started in 2012, and it took forever to get anything done, but it has it's own charm to it.
I remember an event when Dark Elixir troops were cheaper to train. I would train a lot of them and once the event ended, I'd send them back to get more Dark Elixir than I had originally spent. The only thing I miss from the good old days is the global chat.
If i could go back in time to peak COC(14-16), i would do so just to see and talk with my old clan mates again.Never saw them but spent everyday talking with them.Miss them truly

14:04 this line is so true...I sometimes remember about the tv shows i used to watch in childhood and then I go to youtube now to watch these shows it feels boring, because it's not the show that feel nostalgic but it's the time when we were naive and had no responsibility
I’m not gonna lie. This is probably my favorite video you’ve ever done or even one of my favorites. I like how you both address the ups and downs of the good ol’ days. Especially the last section of the video, yeah, the game’s more p2w, and too grindy, maybe too complex. But the ol’ days also had it’s problems, more punishing gameplay, less qol changes, maybe too simple. But the main thing is what we were on these years. We maybe was too young to see those issues, and probably children that play modern coc won’t see those flaws of the present coc. However there is something I love of Clash. It’s the stories we share when we think of those days, when we were kids, how easy it was back then. When it was 2014 my brother introduced me to Clash, I couldn’t play it because I had no phone or Tablet. When 2016 came, I finally had my own tablet as a gift from Christmas (It was a knockoff tablet, like 2,500 pesos back then, but it somewhat worked, enough for clash), it really was a memory I didn’t think I would be writing. And probably so many old players also have so many stories to share thanks to Clash of Clans. I remember so much of those days, and Clash of Clans is one of those. I think it’s crazy how a mobile game can take us to some memories.
No no nononno nonono onooo it was nostalgia. I remember upgrading to th9 and it took 2 weeks. Along with 45 minutes for a single pekka and spell. And it was like impossible for me to get loot from raids. The only 2 things back then that was better was I was 11 in 2014 missing those days, and the blue th 10 walls were better
This video was really well made. I too was 14 when I started playing clash of clans and am now 24. I'm busier now than I was then, and have a lot more responsibility. The game feels different than it did in the first few years of playing it and it's why since around 2018 I've gone long stretches of time without playing it, but finding myself returning to it. Right now I'm on one of those stretches where I'm playing it though, and it does feel different than it did when I was an age where I had much less worry. I am nostalgic for old clash of clans and for my childhood. I'm an almost maxed out th 12 and I'm taking my time fully maxing my main base but not really caring about the builder base beyond getting my 6th builder.
I started playing clash of clans on my iPad mini back in 2012 when I was in middle school, I got my mom into it and she downloaded it on her phone she started playing, we were in the same clan, we tried different base layouts and she actually got a little too addicted she started playing it at work 😅so she ended up deleting it all together. Years and years later I found my iPad mini again and charged it, turned it on and tried to play but it wasn’t available to play on that ios anymore… good old times of 2012 and onward playing clash. I don’t wish I could go back but I appreciate the times. “Don’t be sad it’s gone, be happy it happened”
I remember saving my elixir in the form of over training troops so that when i get back on, i would "untrain" all my giants or pekkas to get it all back
i started clash when i was in 7th grade which was around 2014. the core memories i have and miss are those that i can go home after school, pretend to be sleeping when there’s school the next day, and just chatting with friends in the clan chat while farming. now, with all the abundant updates it gets overwhelming how much stuff there is. i just fully maxed 2 equipment and saw that they’re buffing different equipment and nerfing the ones i just maxed. this video summed it up well.
The memories and nostalgia make it feel like Clash of Clans was really great in the past. You've gotta agree that the game has gotten way better from the past due to the updates, especially the time reductions in training troops and waiting for heroes to recover
@@mockinghyena960 The game has gotten better. But there's too much time suck bloat - builder base, clan capital/Raid Weekends, 7 day CWL (could be cut down to 3 days - attack 2 clans per day). he sounded like such a boomer at the end lol, instead of playing coc wouldn't we want to go out with friends? bruh it takes 3 minutes to attack and you can train two armies at once, it's not that hard to attack twice
COC in the old days was hardcore when compared to today. 7+ days upgrades being common even for canons and resources, plus 45+ mins troops 😂 Also how much of a pain dark elixir was to farm 💀
Let's be real, most players nowadays won't even survive clash of clans back then. Loots were so hard to farm, dark elixir is rare as gem, troops weren't free, upgrades on camp and barracks were different back then, and most of all, no clan games, no raids, no star bonuses, no special books, hammers or potions, no war leagues, no extra traders and mini events. I even considered myself lucky for reaching TH9 in 4-5 months of playing way back in 2015 because that's extremely tough to achieve. Today, after all the updates and improvements, I realized how easy and rewarding the game right now for the new players. Reaching max TH9 or TH10 only takes less than a month nowadays with all the events and new features.
Peak strategy: 100 archers 100 barbarians, no spells. Not because I didn't want to spend hundred thousands of elixir or 5 hours to attack. Good ol' days
For me it was the friends I used to play with. We have our own responsibilities now and we can't just spend all of our time playing the game even if we want to unlike before. I still sometimes log into the game and visit our first ever clan that was now dead with only my accounts in it, look at the war history and reminisce the time of how we helped each other learn new attack strategies for war. It was fun trolling at your friends sending them goblins and make them wait another 15 minutes to request. fun times.
I miss the old days as well and this video is a great reminder to live in the moment thank you so much for making this video keep up your hard work and it will pay off
I still remember when I was 7, my parents only allowed me to play video games twice a week and for twenty minutes each time. I was only able to make two attacks and was never able to collect enough loot or progress faster or attend a full clan war. Good old days. I am from a Taiwanese family and yes, my parents are Asian.
too sad almost everything has moved to the direction of 'filling your time' not only will you feel less satisfied, but you spend more time games/apps used to be something that adds a bit of joy to our life (years before 2019), but now everything is just overstimulation. It's really sad to see things progressed in that way
You missed one key reason- Progression of Technology. How many good, popular mobile games did we have 10 years ago? I can remember only a handful. Clash of Clans, Angry Birds, Hill Climb Racing, Dr Driving, Plant vs Zombies etc. If you asked 10 mobile gamers, you would find at least 5-6 that played most of these games. And our smartphones weren't much powerful either, streaming services were also just becoming popular with the introduction of 3G in many parts of the world. So we could derive that level of enjoyment only from a few games like CoC. Which is why we were insanely drawn to it. Nothing could compare because there literally was nothing like it.
Damn, you really pointed out every important aspect to why the game doesn't feel the same anymore. Didn't know I would feel emotional throughout the video.
As someone that has been playing since December of 2012, I surely have a love-hate relationship with the game. Me and my friends picked it up in high school around sophomore year and we all used to attack each other's bases and compete in wars. Honestly, we had a blast on the game. Years later, we don't talk as much as we used to because we have our own responsibilities now and don't always have time for clash. I was never a big spender on the game and in a way, I liked progressing slower as you could really soak in what a town hall has to offer. Now after seeing this video pop up on my screen, I recovered my old account and I am starting the game where I left off. When I loaded my base, it didn't feel like the same game anymore but as said in the video, we aren't the same anymore as well. It's a bit disappointing I won't get to the endgame anytime soon as the only time I maxed out was in 2014 when th 10 was max. I'll still continue to play the game and if anyone here is feeling bored, just take a month or two off the game and I guarantee you will have so much motivation to play the game again. Also, try making your own bases. Recently most of my inspiration has been coming from old Godson troll base videos. The bases might not be the best but I had fun building them.
Yes the feeling of playing it isn't the same anymore, but not in a bad way it's just remembering the way we play it before really gives nostalgic feeling and I also used to play it with my friends.
Ah the good ole days where I had to wait a day for my army, only to one star a base, wait another year for my next army, just to do it all again, beautiful.
i just loved how back in the day when I had an army trained and hot raided I had to retrain my entire army (training took longer and costed gold/elixir)
The game is definitely better now but the good ol days when you used to be in the same clan and play clash with your friends is definitely the golden memories
Havoc talking deep stuffs. I do miss playing it for fun, and then playing with friends anf family, but i don't definitely miss the training time and cost. 😂
It is nostalgia. I used to play in 2014 (I think) and stopped once clash royale came out. I started playing again this year and the game is waaaaay better. Being able to use dark troops was my dream back in the day, but they cost too much. So I usually used pekkas, wizard, dragons and balloons... you could do 2 attacks per day that way. 95% of my attacks were only archers/barbs spam, since by the time you didn one attack, more troops were ready.
i remember there was a event in which every troup can be trained at 1 elixir cost. I was very excited and literally played the game 24x7. I player sooo much that i eventually get bored and uninstall. After 4 yrs I'm back again playing the game. Man those time was different. You are absolutely correct 💯 it's not about game (coc/ gta/ nfs/ cod or any other game) it's about time. 😭😭😭😭 good old days
I loved it when I didn´t new about the Meta when I was 14/15 years old. Just train up 8 pekka's, I even managed to calculate that they were finished training when I came back from school. Just to get a zero star 49%. Best clash days ever... I also remembered the excitement I got when a Christmas update was released and I informed my mates about the patch notes lol.
ive always enjoyed spending a lot of time afk just looking around my base, some planning and some twiddling of my home base. logging in to admire my work... the difference is, today this afk behavior carries a dose of decision paralysis from not wanting to do clan games, capital raid, star bonus events, clan war for ore, gold pass challenges. back in the old days, the game used to be so much less busy - while my army trained and builders were down, i would log on just to admire my work. there was nothing else *to do* today, sitting afk and admiring my work feels subverted by the long queue of progression routes acting as constant reminders of what needs to be done to stay on track. ps. this is really similar to how maplestory has evolved (to an exponential degree), in case anyone can relate.
Having to take care of just one village was the best we compared our bases and who had the best design for town halls for both war and normal village nowadays there is too much going on too many villages it feels like a chore unlike the fun village you take care of.
i was a 2013 to 2014 player and yes the game was fun back then but i quit because i couldnt get even close to enough dark elixir to ugrade my queen at TH 9 I farmed all day just to loose half of my storage in one defense over night
I came back to clash after 2 years of break because it was so boring at first.. They added new things to keep players more engaged to the game. I Don't miss the old version. I love the upgraded one more now❤
I’m 54 now and I still love playing this game after more than 10 yrs of clashing! No doubt its cost me a lot of money but hey I’ve could’ve spent my money on worse things right ha ha. Clash on guys!
The game feels sooo complex now. Back then it was just a single game. Now, you have to play 4-5 games inside a single game. It feels like there is a very little reward for your skills and time. When you halt your game for a few weeks or months, it feels like you have missed a ton. I am not saying that it is not a good game now, but the desirability factor is now a lot less than say what was maybe 5-7 years before. Things do have to evolve with time, but clash has reached a stage where things are VERY CONFUSING.
Nice in old days we have to wait a lot but that’s thing in waiting time we do other things going out with friends or other stuff and waiting notification my army is ready than attack that excitement and satisfaction after attack it really good but now days I keep attacking it’s so boring and free time talking in global I love that.
It's not that complex. I play the main game and wars, that's for me is the basic. Clan games are basically "play the normal game and get rewards". Raids are too extra for little to no rewards, but the villages are cool I guess. The builder is irrelevant for me. I will eventually unlock the sixth builder, but I'm not try harding the mode. I've seen some mobile games that have like 5 different games inside it, and I only donwloaded them because I liked one. Instant delete.
One is forced to play those side games in order to progress their main base. Also, all the events are based on Supercell's schedule. Not doing the events significantly impact ones progress or will require purchasing of gems/items to keep up.
It’s hard to manage account because I don’t have time to work my all 4 accounts before it was easy when we have to wait for training and other stuff but now I don’t think I handle more than one😢so I stopped playing I start playing in 2013
I started playing CoC back in 2015 and I have to say that its currently the best time it's ever been, the only thing I don't like is the constant change of themes every season, but the gameplay is miles better
Remember when you don't have enough elixir to train troops and you just starring at the collector to get a small amount 😂

It was fun trolling at your friends sending them goblins and make them wait another 15 minutes to request. fun times.
The ending was gold big dawg. I'm 26 & that hit home. Oh how time flys
I am from a Taiwanese family and yes, my parents are Asian.
too sad almost everything has moved to the direction of 'filling your time'
not only will you feel less satisfied, but you spend more time
games/apps used to be something that adds a bit of joy to our life (years before 2019), but now everything is just overstimulation.
I don’t miss having to upgrade walls 1 by 1
You pointed it out great. Keep the good work up! 👍💪❤️🙏
Clash of clans doesn't seem as time consuming now that I have to play it around work
Damn, you really pointed out every important aspect to why the game doesn't feel the same anymore. Didn't know I would feel emotional throughout the video.
You're speaking about things about a game, is such inspirational 😢😢
I like your new editing style 😁
There is a dating that I cannot remember in it's entirety. "We remember the past better than it was and we encoding the future worse than it will be"
As someone that has been playing since December of 2012, I surely have a love-hate relationship with the game.
11:46 Someone send this to supercell
"CHANGE IS THE CONSTANT THING IN LIFE"
Legend says that the barbarian is still running in circles under the water
Yes the feeling of playing it isn't the same anymore, but not in a bad way it's just remembering the way we play it before really gives nostalgic feeling and I also used to play it with my friends.
This is hands down one of the best videos I've ever seen in my life
Oh man , it was great , i loved the way you reviewed this video
8:46 damn he uttered money and the ads popped up 😂 I see what you did there UA-cam 🤫
Always a good day when Havoc posts🎉🎉
Ah the good ole days where I had to wait a day for my army, only to one star a base, wait another year for my next army, just to do it all again, beautiful.
2020 - 2022 is the best time period for clash tbh
I can totally agree with you. Wonderful video. ✨️💯
i just loved how back in the day when I had an army trained and hot raided I had to retrain my entire army (training took longer and costed gold/elixir)
The game is definitely better now but the good ol days when you used to be in the same clan and play clash with your friends is definitely the golden memories
This video was beautiful, thank you ❤️
Ahh the good old days
They are just memories in the past that we can no longer enjoy
Started playiny in 2016, loved it back then, still love it
7:50
I made it to havoc's video. That was my post lol😂
God damm, you always get me if gard with this ads 😂😂😂😂
Ending Clash Journey At a Good Note 😢😊!
I agree with you for losing simplyciry. With all of that hero equipment and builder base, it's getting ridiculous.
I love this video and i think ppl didnt really understand what you man ,gg man❤
Havoc talking deep stuffs.
This really hit me with the feels bro
i remember there was a event in which every troup can be trained at 1 elixir cost. 😭😭😭😭 good old days
last we all grew up hit hard I still remember when we were in school we talked a lot about coc and we used to sit together to attack war that days
I enjoyed when we had global chat and army cost,
I loved it when I didn´t new about the Meta when I was 14/15 years old. Just train up 8 pekka's, I even managed to calculate that they were finished training when I came back from school. Just to get a zero star 49%. Best clash days ever... I also remembered the excitement I got when a Christmas update was released and I informed my mates about the patch notes lol.
I've been feeling burnt out of clash, and the $33 village skin was the nail in the coffin for me putting the game down personally.
ive always enjoyed spending a lot of time afk just looking around my base, some planning and some twiddling of my home base. logging in to admire my work...
the difference is, today this afk behavior carries a dose of decision paralysis from not wanting to do clan games, capital raid, star bonus events, clan war for ore, gold pass challenges. back in the old days, the game used to be so much less busy - while my army trained and builders were down, i would log on just to admire my work. there was nothing else *to do*
today, sitting afk and admiring my work feels subverted by the long queue of progression routes acting as constant reminders of what needs to be done to stay on track.
ps. this is really similar to how maplestory has evolved (to an exponential degree), in case anyone can relate.
You don't miss old clash of clan, you miss how you felt when you played old clash of clan
Having to take care of just one village was the best we compared our bases and who had the best design for town halls for both war and normal village nowadays there is too much going on too many villages it feels like a chore unlike the fun village you take care of.
lol there was no wars in the good ol days
You still don't need to play builder hall if you already got 6th builder.
It's not the gameplay i miss but the atmosphere of the community both in-game and on UA-cam. The atmosphere of it all is what i miss.
Clash of Clans has changed with us. As we got older, it changed to adapt our new needs.
What a well written video like you did it perfectly as possible. 💯/💯 For the video & everything.
i was a 2013 to 2014 player and yes the game was fun back then
but i quit because i couldnt get even close to enough dark elixir to ugrade my queen at TH 9
I farmed all day just to loose half of my storage in one defense over night
Take me back to the night we met ~ 2017
I came back to clash after 2 years of break because it was so boring at first.. They added new things to keep players more engaged to the game. I Don't miss the old version. I love the upgraded one more now❤
I’m 54 now and I still love playing this game after more than 10 yrs of clashing! No doubt its cost me a lot of money but hey I’ve could’ve spent my money on worse things right ha ha. Clash on guys!
i played coc when it was 2015, and I'm still in school. it was a grind, nowadays it is just an easy game.
never thought a clash of clans video would have a life lesson in the end.
That's a great video, very well spoken.
Instant delete.
the old clash of clans didn't even had clan wars, it was added in a later update, that's what you liked playing? without wars?
One is forced to play those side games in order to progress their main base. Also, all the events are based on Supercell's schedule. Not doing the events significantly impact ones progress or will require purchasing of gems/items to keep up.
it was indeed a simple game back then, so simple that you could never play because your army would take a day to train.
Best way to deal with clash of clans is to delete the game, even tho i was playing for 9 years and i had multiple accounts
Game is not the same anymore
It’s hard to manage account because I don’t have time to work my all 4 accounts before it was easy when we have to wait for training and other stuff but now I don’t think I handle more than one😢so I stopped playing I start playing in 2013
@@AmritpalSingh-lo1rq thats a you problem. what normal person tries to grind as much as possible on 4 different accounts in the same game?
I started playing CoC back in 2015 and I have to say that its currently the best time it's ever been, the only thing I don't like is the constant change of themes every season, but the gameplay is miles better
I love you havoc! You're soul is beautiful
