Walk Around and Overview: 2024 BMW i5 M60! (BMW’s ALL-NEW 600hp Electric 5 Series!)

In today’s video, we’re doing a walk around and overview with this 2024 BMW i5 M60! This i5 M60 is finished in Brooklyn Grey Metallic over Veganza Perforated and Quilted Black. It is shown wearing style 938M 20” star-spoke bi-color Jet Black wheels. The i5 M60 features dual electric motors and an 81.2kWh battery. There is a motor affixed to each axle, which means that the car is all-wheel drive. In tandem, the two electric motors create 593hp and 586lb-ft of torque. This is enough to propel the M60 version of he i5 to 60mph in a quoted time of just 3.7 seconds. Electric range varies between 240-256 depending on wheel choice. Level 2 Charging times are as little as 8hrs, while 30 minute, 10%-80% charging sessions are possible with Level 3 DC fast charging.

I saw that the 530i doesn't get the interaction ''bar"..rather just streaks of light running across the dash.
I said the same thing as far as the look it reminds me of the older generation 5 series model

I saw it at a dealer yestoday, carbon black m-sport pack. The car is HUGE, but very well proportioned. The five series have always been masculine looking car, but this one looks very very masculine, funny thing is, I think it lookes more like a bigger f10, then a bigger g30, I loved the look.
That's a nice spec you got to check out! It is a big car for sure, but as you said, they've proportioned it very well. It still retained very "BMW-like" proportions despite growing quite a bit in size.
What’s the black area under the kidney grills. It’s huge and makes the front look ugly
It's a sensor for the various driver aid systems. It's the reason why I prefer this car without shadowline, because on cars with the silver grille, there's a strip of silver that breaks up that piece of the grille.
My cousin who resides in Canada just picked up his 2024 i5 M60 today. Please confirm that we in the United States will not get the 4-zone digital climate control in the rear? What happened to the door sills? No more illumination?
For now, that is correct we aren't getting the 4 zone climate control. That said, I've seen a pre-production NA model with that option, so it might come at some point in the future. And yes, door sills are bare. No dedicated kick plate or illumination.

Canada has it. One would think that they would have the 4-zone at least on the i5 M60 since it's their "M" electric car. @@bmwofmorristown9038
To get the digital climate control with 4 zones in the US, have the dealer use code 4MB when you order.
Thanks. I also found out in the US we are not going to get the M seat belts, we are not getting the 4-wheel steering and we are not getting the active roll stabilizer. @@jimmybobo
I think BMW did a really nice job with this. Some minor complaints are of the cost cutting variety such as the cheap looking plastics used in the door cards and handles and lack of comfort access on the rear doors. Not a fan of such things on any BMW much less a 5 series or above.
Agreed, they did do a very nice job! I hear your concerns with cost-cutting measures. Thankfully, they didn't do any cost cutting where it really matters. All interior touch points and controls feel really nice, and the few areas where materials aren't "top-shelf" are places where you won't even notice unless you're looking for it. Other than doing no cost-cutting at all (which is nearly impossible nowadays), they did a great job keeping the interior up-scale feeling while still keeping the car affordable for the class.
I heard that it won't be a V8 M560i. Is that really true?
We haven't gotten explicit confirmation of anything other than the 540i as far as future models. So all we can do is some educated speculation at this point. That said, we expect the V8 to be dropped in all models but the M5. The M550i's spot is expected top be replaced by a 550e or M550e with the X5 xDrive50e powertrain. We aren't sure what they'll call that model, but the non-M V8 model (M550i) is not expected to come back.
550e has been confirmed. It is NOT an M550. It is a regular in-line six with plug-in hybrid. @@bmwofmorristown9038

Depends on the market. Different markets measure HP differently which can cause slight variations from one market to another.

What's wrong with it? Kias chef designer(Peter Schreyer) used to work for audi
