You actually have the best of both disciplines in a 22 caliber . It will be nice to see a heads up comparison between rim fire & PCP air guns without going to other channels for comparison . Keep up the good work !
Great stuff Josh. I shoot a fx Maverick sniper in 25cal. The slugs are amazing past 100 yards. I shoot it 3 to 4 times a week. I need to get a silencer for my 22lr and I'd shoot it more.
You're really hurting views on my channel. Mostly because I don't make videos when I watch all yours! Great stuff man, I've noticed more and more video effects in your vids. You are for sure putting plenty of time into these man. Great work, very entertaining!
Interesting video, now that my dad is tired of reloading I might have to try to get him into air rifles. Not a low entry cost when you don't have a compressor or anything yet
I’ve been shooting air rifles now for about two years and it’s hard to grab anything else when it’s time to hunt or just target shoot. So accurate and so quiet. I have so much more confidence in my air rifles. It’s also nice to see exactly where you miss so that follow up shot hits every time.
It's not bad. You can get an air venturi avenger, scope, and compressor for $1000. I did over a year ago and most of my powder burners sit cold and lonely these days.
Excellent video! The best part of the M3 tune was the SD for the first velocity test. Would you mind sharing your tune and any mods you've done to the M3? is it a 700mm barrel?
Josh , this is a suggestion and something you may want to do a test on and video for your audience. The reason I spent the money for an FX a couple of years ago was the introduction of slugs and their accuracy over Diabolo pellets at long distance . I wonder at what distance the slug would surpass the Diabolo in pinpoint accuracy since the drag coefficient is so different . The projectiles would have to be of the same weight & speed that stabilizes both and shot back to back under the same conditions . The tough part is having a barrel that shoots both equally well at the same speed .
I dont think you would find a barrel thata going to shoot slugs and pellets well. The pellets need less spin to stabalize where as slugs need a more traditional twist rate
Great video! I love the innovation getting put out by the air gun industry these days. Just curious, what magazine are you using that cycles the 40 grain javelins?
Like your videos, but may have noticed an error in your test. If the scope centerline above the bore axis is different, then the angle of the flight path at 50 yards, or zero point, will be different. Perhaps you thought of this and the centerline distances are the same on both guns?
I cant get the bore to scope centerline the same for both but the kestrel accounts for the difference in bore to scope height in its calculations and was entered to the tenth of inch for both rifles
Never get taken in by the box ,1200fps , with fly weight pellets. All marketing and no accuracy. Most guns/ pellets combos like 830 to 950 max operating range.
Actually, past 250-300 yards, BC for most of 22LR starts do decrease. First slightly, than more and more. Only match ammo fired from adequate twist rate barrel keeps subsonic BC constant at very long range
Another great video Josh! I saw on Instagram you mentioned adjusting the headspace on the IBI barrel, as they don’t have shims how did you accomplish this?
Josh.....I've got a 457 varmint precision chassis with a 16.5" barrel and was wondering could I replace the 16.5 factory barrel with an MTR 20" and it still be a match barrel and headspace? and do you think i would see any difference in the grouping?....I'm looking to stay with the CZ barrel only because of the ARA rules
@@chapman1967 that depends on a lot that I cant answer. If your ammo or setup isnt limiting your groups than a barrel could help but hard to say, especially when there is no guarantee your current ammo will shoot well in the new barrel
@@PursuitofAccuracy Yes that makes sense prob upper 180"s im guessing. If you havnt modified the valve its time to do so since it would definitely help to achieve that speed at a lower bar. Im working on a new valve with a larger chamber and slightly larger center-hole. A larger plenum than the 720 has already been installed. Will update you with the results if you wish.

@@PursuitofAccuracy Yes I can relate. The look of your videos has really improved and they were never bad in the first place. Excellent quality man.

That is impressive shooting at 150 yds very well done Josh fun to watch
Hard work.Josh love from Maryland ❤️
pretty crazy how much more the chrony is tighter on the impact yes i own one also
Its a stupid consistent air rifle.......this is why I think eventually they will surpass 22lr
Honest and straight to the point, like always. Thanx
Appreciate ya
Love the airgun vs rimfire stuff. Keep it up.
Thanks
Great video, Josh. Unbelievable that the air gun can be that good, but your b c test proved their claims. I better take out another loan !!

What scope rings are you running
@@johndambrosio931 I usually run the FX high rings on the airguns to clear the mags

The stock magazine but a 3d printed lid

I saw on Instagram you mentioned adjusting the headspace on the IBI barrel, as they don’t have shims how did you accomplish this?
Its threaded so you just screw it in and set the headspace. Ibi has a good video on the process
What events will you be competing in at RMAC?
Just the speed competition and the precision marksman. I have to leave early so I couldnt compete in benchrest
How does the price point compare... ??? Obviously you need air as well but that kinda offsets the price of ammo difference
The impact is more expensive than the cz up front for sure
If it's a linear Stx Superior Heavy 600mm, how good is the speed if you use Mimis 26grain? And what settings should regulators 1 and 2 master use?
