    What a good idea! We all have our go-to recipes, but it sounds fun and challenging to work with random recipes. Maybe even to find a new favorite.

      You can do this with any camera. It's literally just a warm white balance, red-shifted, with high contrast, slightly overexposed, and saturation muted like 99% of the time. I have tried them all, and I went back to default, because they aren't versatile at all.

    Can we just download these colour profiles to our Lightroom?

    • @AufKohleGeboren
      @AufKohleGeboren Рік тому

      I don’t think so, but you can select the film simulations as profile in Lightroom and from there on I think it will be just a little bit of tweaking that they look like the JPEG’s out of cam.

    Hello

    These recipes are super popular right now, but you can actually dial in more custom jpeg options on Canon and Sony cameras. My old Sony PP menu is way more in-depth than anything on my X-T4, and Canon have the Camera Window software where you can create your own base luts with HSL and tone curves and then upload them to your camera as a Custom Preset.
    As far as customising a jpeg goes, these recipes are pretty basic. Most of them are just utilising a stylistic white balance. Usually more warm and red shifted, or sometimes green shifted. Then increase the contrast and desaturate so the white balance doesn't look so wrong. You can do this with any camera on the market right now.
    The only reason to buy a Fujifilm for this is if it is smaller than your current gear and you want to scale down your EDC set up. Canon and Sony might still be a better choice for that though.

    Japanese Cameras 一番 💖, Leica and Hasselblad brands are trash selling unreasonably expensive products without the latest features and innovations. Leica is just busy making history proud and keeping Germany left behind.

  • @GodBimmer
    @GodBimmer Рік тому

    Japanese cameras are getting more advanced and innovating far compared to European cameras. Leica is just busy boasting history and luxury status and selling products at ridiculous prices and is said to be an idiot perspective.

    I mean, I get it, but if you're going to shoot unedited JPGs you may as well use your phone. I like to edit ALL of my shots until I'm happy with how they look - a camera can't do that for me. Horses for courses I guess.

    • @-grey
      @-grey Рік тому +1

      Phones don't have the ergonomics. It's better to use a tool built for purpose if you don't want to miss shots faffing around with touch screens. Locking in exposure on the fly, or manually focusing, or even dialing in settings when the camera is off are all things that help to grab that moment.
      Plus, I find a small camera is less intimidating to people than whipping your phone out and pointing it at them. Cameras (especially compacts) still communicate harmless "hobbyist" especially since you have gone out of your way to learn a new thing and not just use a convenient phone.

      @@-grey Miss shots? What's on the screen is what you get, it's literally child's play. High-end phones find focus and auto settings faster than any camera. Pointing any camera in public draws attention, it's far easier to be discreet with a phone in public - people are so used to it. I hardly take pictures with my phone, except for work as a kind of visual notebook. I shoot with a mirrorless and/or film SLR. I get the look I want, not what a camera or "recipe" dictates.

    • @grannywaffle
      @grannywaffle Рік тому +3

      Why should i use my phone if I want to shoot unedited jpegs? I understand your point as you can get similar results, but you've missed a huge part of photography, the joy of shooting with a dedicated camera. I like shooting unedited jpegs with camera and not my phone because the process is way more fun and engaging for me with my Fuji.

    • @stew_redman
      @stew_redman Рік тому

      @@grannywaffle I've been shooting for 40 years, so I get the joy of shooting with a camera. I'd rather put my money into a better camera and shoot/edit RAW images rather than achieve the same snapshot results as a phone. Just personal preference, not a personal attack.

    • @grannywaffle
      @grannywaffle Рік тому +1

      @@stew_redman I know it's not personal my friend, I just highlighted that I think you missed that point, sometimes it's not all about the shot that's all, you do you and what you enjoy, just don't think you should tell others they should use a phone cos they could get the same results, I could order a burger from a takeout but I could cook one also, it doesn't matter!
