Me and my mate got stuck at the Amon Bar one night during a rainstorm back in 2018. One of the best nights I can remember. Cheap beer, cute girls and a special massage a won't forget. Good luck to Amon (which is very cute I might add) on her new place. I can't wait to get back to Pattaya for some new wonderful memories.
Amon is a great lady and I will be one of the many loyal customers that will follow her in her new bar !
Amon is a great lady , really friendly and customer orientated , keeps control of her ladies and keeps the music low , which made the Amon bar a great place to sit and people watch , also the ladies working for her were not pushy ,
With the amount of new bars on Soi Pothole her husband was stupid to lose her as many people came to her bar to see her , I will definately be back to visit her again in December ,
But you must go by the original Amon bar in the next few weeks and show us what is happening there .
Amon is a good sport and has worked hard. As you said, loyal customers will follow her.

I was a regular at old Amon bar. I 'll definitively check out new one. Surprised she is still around. Thought maybe she would go bankrupt, but she has a strong work ethic and probably saved enough to make it through and re establish.
Hi Daz. I've purchased my own small property in my own country like I said I would and sometime in the future will buy another. My goal is to rent both of them out and use the money as my income in Pattaya where I will relocate full time and stay in rented condos. Make your money in the west, spend it in the east and stay flexible. You know it makes sense! 😎🤘

The old Amon was a good place with friendly and attractive girls. I remember I barfined a couple of girls there and after some gymnastics we went back to pothole to have a drink in other bars. Finished the night with one drink at Amon before heading for the hotel for some more gymnastics and they never played the lady drink trick after the barfine. I know some places try it, not that I pay it but nevertheless they try it but not at Amon. And did I say the girls do anything, and I mean anything between the sheets?

Thanks for this video - Amon is good people and I have enjoyed her hospitality at the old location across from the Triangle Bar - I used to like having a cool drink or too there and watching the carryings-on at Amon's place across the soi, always entertaining and I wish her the best of luck in the new location - I'll be checking it out for sure when I go back in a few months...

I imagine it must require a huge amount of dedication and effort to sustain such an enterprise. At least the financing is not to hateful and if life returns to anything like before, probably a decent money spinner. Interesting post, 👍

A few years ago rainbow on buakhao was for sale. 115k usd turn key. It Became buakhao paradise. Now it's buakhao corner. Great place.
Amon is a smart operator. Her employees are super loyal to her. as the ex-husband found out when they all left. Amon was my favorite bar on my infrequent bar nights.
She treats her staff and customers well. No wonder Amon Bar was a success.
Thais are the bravest business people I've ever met!!!!!!

I think it's more than just the listed cost. Foreigners might need to pay more bribes to cops and gangs. Also how about getting young girls to work there? Would be harder for foreigners to recruit girls. Might be easier to just buy a couple of condos and rent them out.

hello daz, Amon is a good friend of mine, i am happy you are profiling her, she's a great lady, very smart girl for sure, she is very astute, actually daz she has been their much longer than 10 years, if you pop back to her check my pic and say hi for me she will or should remember me , i always see her when i return, as always she looks great, not sure when i can come back though, i was planning to let all the virus thing dissapear, but even now its lingering, so maybe november if not then march, cheers mate keep up the good work, take care

"What's the COST of buying a bar in Pattaya Thailand?" In short unless you have your wits about you, ultimately it will cost you every penny that you have to your name.
Nobody owns a bar,you pay for a lease or rent,key money,tea money,blah blah.What you own is the fixtures and fittings.Hundreds of guys have lost it all as the dream of having a bar has went pearshaped ,many have did ok and are still open.You need to know what you're doing!

Daz, it has always puzzled me as to why the local bar owners don't get their act together to form some sort of Soi / street committee to get the bloody road conditions sorted out knowing full well local council couldn't care less, being privately owned and attracting more pedestrian traffic!

Soi Pothole is privately owned, nothing to do with the City Council

They tried to do that years ago, tried to get the council to take over maintenance of the road, it didn't end well.

Even just for construction that's not so much.
No, that was the initial investment, there are more costs to come yet, like the electrics and furniture etc, I will tell you the total in the next video.

The street is in horrible condition! I always like Amon's bar. Fewer surprises. The ongoing joke was that people always seemed to leave with a smile on their faces. I can attest to that.

A Lady drink includes a commission for the lady
I know that used to have a bar myself but a lady drink is for a lady who works in the bar and is friendly with the punters. So if I buy a bottle of beer for say 70 baht in a bar and the lady has the same bottle of beer for 150 baht whats all that about when I had the bar the drinks where the same price for everyone and 9 times out of 10 the punter would give the lady a tip.before he left and it worked well

interesting...so $14k US to get a bar up and going...it's entirely possible that I could pull out maybe up to $20k from retirement accounts to pursue such a conceit but...well...while I could afford to lose it, I probably would because I dont know jack about running a bar. Not a good combination...but the idea of going into a bar, enjoying a few drinks, meeting a charming young Thai woman, paying a bar fine, going just upstairs to a room for 300TB, enjoying a bit of adult fun...hmm...looks like the outlay would be the cost of a few lady drinks, the bar fine, the room fee and the girl's fee...to be unconservative...300 for room, 500 for barfine (?), and 1000 for ST...call it 2000TB including lady drinks...huh. Money well spent I would guess.
Just buy some beaten up SAAS stocks with that 20k and thank yourself in 5 years.

This explains the sign I saw the other day on a 4K walk. The old place is now Coco's. I look forward to meeting this fine lady in the future. I will definitely be supporting her efforts when I am in Pattaya. Amon and David are 2 class acts that will be very successful on Soi Pothole.
