I think Vietnam is a great place to settle down learn the language and dive into the culture and belong to a strong resilient culture. I’m 68 and I realize that I’m not the one to get married and starting a family. More likely I’ll find a woman who will already have a child or two or none at all, but doesn’t want more and is in her 35 plus years old and we build from there, a lasting relationship. My Persian former wife 33 had a son 8 years old, we were married for 23 years. We had a great life together and yes I was the provider, we still are best friends just our paths have gone in different directions. You're absolutely right. I've lived in most of the countries of that region and Vietnamese women are by far the most conservative out of all of them.

@@superrookie1554 In Hue City, Vietnamese women tend to be more conservative compared to those in other regions. The majority avoid dating foreigners due to concerns about cultural differences and the potential for divorce, as they approach relationships with seriousness and commitment. Casual flings or one-night stands are uncommon among them. Once married, they will take really good care of their family. While gold diggers do exist, they are a rarity.

you are right, I am a Vietnamese American man so I understand them very well. They want to seal the deal, however if you can aim for middle short term like 3-6mo.
In my opinion Vietnamese women are the most beautiful in the world.

Personally I prefer a woman who does not give it up for any loser that comes along.
I subscribe to the philosophy "If she is she is not worth it. If she is worth it she won't be easy". I do not want a woman with a high body count.

I accidentally met a Vietnamese woman here in the US. I turned to your videos to learn more about their orientation and values. Since I only have an N=1 situation, hearing your observations from broad experience is very helpful. In my case, she is hard-working, highly intelligent, loves Vietnam, and is serious. Definitely moving quickly. Your observations put what I am seeing into context. You are most perceptive.

When you mentioned the Philippines, it instantly brought to mind that Dumaguete, Philippines has Silliman University, so it is less likely for the college women to have kids yet, so that would also attract the foreigners.

If one has the time to spend there, it is nice meeting Nam ladies. But looking for good girls, like most places, May take several dates to get close and build trust. Also went to a "good-real" massage place daily and always picked the same pretty girl. After a few "good" massages, it became "more bad" and was my daily habit. Nam women are great.
It's a numbers game. You need patience and you have to lower your expectations in terms of "fixing up" something quickly. It can happen but you better not bet on it.

I have many friends that are happily married to Vietnamese women, many for over 10 years.
Very intereating to see your frustration. I believe if you like to get a local girl to be a long time partner, you hv to learn the language. Not just speaking, you get to understand her culture and able to communite with her family mbrs (importnt part), and be accepted into commumity. In the PH, girls are more liberal partly due to religion similarity, likewise their culture. Also it's true that many would seek opportunity to emigrate for a better life economically. Most will know westerners want fun and some wanting to find a partner or bride-to-be. If you found a wrong one, you may be poorer with no pennies to fly home (cheated). Im glad you brought up the illusion of romance foisted on western culture for the several hundred years...roman-ce and roman-tic. Its a fantasy that does much damage to marriages. Im glad to hear that vietnamese women take a practical view of marriage
Before the pill -- the idea WAS to get married all the way back to the cavemen ( and cave-women ) - the pill changed EVERYTHING .
I've had some experiences with some vietnamese girls here in the US. One of them was very nice and a pleasure to get to know. A couple of others were bad news. One of them was very bad. The one that was nice had approached me with another girl. She wanted to find out what I was like. I didn't even realize what was happening that day. I was figuring that I was about to get a couple of new friends. I found out the next day what was really going on. We ended up hanging out tgether. The next vietnamese girl that I had ended up encountering was the one that was very bad news. She had stopped me while I was on my way out the door to go to break. I don't remember what she wanted. I just remembered the attitude coming from her was not good. I was wondering why she had stopped me only to give me an attitude. I couldn't wait to get away from her. I did my best to avoid her at all costs. She had a younger sister that she treated very badly. Even weirder is that her sister didn't even look vietnamese. She looked filipino. Had one more encounter with this girl and the second one wasn't any better than the first one. I left the company shortly afterwards. Her sister hooked up with the filipino guy that was in that department shortly after my departure. I kind of got the impression that this girl's sister was hoping that I would approach her. I never did though as I was doing everything I could to avoid her crazy and mean sister. Then I quit and so she settled for the next best thing. The filipino guy. The last vietnamese girl apparently had a huge crush on me. I never knew it until later. Unfortunately for her a malaysian guy tried to get her one night in the break room. Instead of telling this guy that she wasn't interested, she reemed him a new one right there in the break room in front of everyone. That guy was quite embarrased by that. Then she started going after me shortly afterwards. I didn't want to be treated that way either and just treated her as a friend and nothing more.

Apart the fact vietnamese women are really family oriented you should be also aware that there are some expectation coming from them and cultural differences.
Anyway before you go serious relationship, watch her mental state.
I noticed there are some of them feeling inside insecure and it has impact to their personality (NPD, BPD, or any othher personality disorders)

So don't date single women with kids then if you can not afford. Their are many foods on the table, it is your taste, your choice. To be honest, learning Vietnamese is showing that you are friendly and open-minded person, but you dont need to take it too seriously. Going to Ho Chi minh City, you will meet high quality women there.
Good point on the language part. I previously thought that I would have to study Vietnamese hard to converse with VN girls. But no need to do that because I figured that the VN women who are into foreigners will be speaking English anyway already or will be willing to learn it. But yeah, out of respect for the country and people, learn a few phrases of the local language. People will like and respect you more because you show interest in their culture and you put some effort into it. It is always appreciated. That's my experience of living and working in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

If you are appealing enough plenty of Vietnamese ladies set aside their long term goals of marriage for something short term. The culture also accepts and considers it normal that romantic relationships are by nature somewhat transactional.

@@MinimalistNomad Yes, I've been to Saigon and Vung Tau for 6 months during the pandemic and traveled around to several cities including Da nang a few months ago. I'm by no means a very handsome guy but I'm healthy and fit for my age and I like to eat out at nice restaurants. Most women, anywhere in the world, enjoy romantic relationships so they rarely go without for long periods yet it seems like they do because they are discreet. So if a young lady isn't married she's still usually in some type of relationship. I had a Vietnamese guy friend who managed a hotel in Saigon. He helped inform me about the dating and marriage culture. As you correctly point out and as is true in most of the world, relationships are motivated by practical concerns. This is without any silly western cultural shame. You make good content. Thanks

A young lady that is not married yet but is in a relationship, is in that exact relationship because she expects or hopes that it will lead to marriage. So she is in it for the long-term (which is absolutely normal. It just makes sense). Otherwise she would not have gotten into this relationship in the first place. I think we can agree on that. I am talking about Vietnamese women of course.
@@MinimalistNomad Neo, it's not too late to take the red 💊. A lady is not always in that exact relationship for marriage. Women have desires just like men. They are much pickier than men for romantic partners especially marriage. So they are typically waiting for the best possible mate. While they wait they profess to be only looking for marriage because it's the socially acceptable thing to say.
They are higher class women and they don’t need men especially foreigners men who think they are more superior but want easy fun women to sleep with. Vietnamese women are strong and educated.
The language barrier for older 35-45 women might be too much to date although the women are more desperate (hate to use that word to describe) What do you think
I would agree. But many younger women also do not speak English well, especially outside of Saigon. It's a pain in the butt...🤷
