What this video doesn’t mention is Singapore does not give out permanent residency to Vietnamese brides. If their hopes are that they can migrate to a richer country, or their kid have a better opportunities, they’re wrong. Children born to foreign brides from 3rd world countries, even when born in Singapore, do not get citizenship automatically and in many cases are often stateless for decades. Yup this is true. Unless the man has a reasonably high income. What Singapore government wants is foreigners who have high education level and income. Not wrong because it benefits the economy as a whole.

The match-making companies and the Vietnamese representatives have the responsibility to inform the Vietnamese girls that Singapore government does NOT simply issue permanent residency to foreigners married to a Singaporean man. It is naive and ignorant to think Singapore government is easy and has no standards. There are real life cases in the neighourhood that some foreign brides failed to get a permanent residency after many years and they have to return to their countries to give birth and the baby is NOT issued a Singapore citizenship, just because the father is a citizen.
Because there are many cases of foreigners (not saying which country) and cheating older men of their retirement funds. And when these men got cheated, the women vanish without a trace, and this becomes a problem for the government. In order for Sg to issue PR, it will be like going for a job interview, background checks etc to see whether you are lower risk, and what's your value to Singapore. Nonetheless, with an aging population, I believe Sg govt is becoming more flexible in issuing since they want to increase the birth rate.

Can somebody explain to me why this short documentary did not explain the match maker explanation of the language difference as the Singaporean man speaks Mandarin Chinese and some English and the Viet women speaks Vietnamese and little English??? There has to be a common language to communicate to each other.
I do have friends whom married Vietnamese ladies. Singaporeans usually speak English plus their mother tongue. I guess for the match making ones, both the lady and the guy, would be very much inclined to learn to communicate in a common language together. The environment would be useful for the ladies to develop proficiency in a new language too. The Vietnamese ladies whom I knew married to Singaporean guys, tend to learn both Mandarin and English, but the grasp of Mandarin somehow is much better than English… even thought English is the popular working language
There are several different Chinese dialects/languages. In Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, the Chinese living there are usually Hokkien from Fujian Province but can also be Cantonese, Teochow, etc. Mandarin is usually not a first language for older Singaporean men. It would be very hard for the Viet girls to learn Mandarin only to find out the Singaporean man can't speak Mandarin very well. So the better option would be English. But, unfortunately the English that the Singaporean man would know is very Singlish. 😅 Unfortunately, for each match... To fix the language barrier, the solution has be to very specific to the couple. The matchmaker, can't just tell the Viet Girls to learn English.

He did mention that he prefers his woman to have a bit more flesh. So slim women are out already. The one he met in Singapore and is considering? Easily is more fleshy than those two in Vietnam. But then she married a different guy.....just one month later. Love? Forget about love if you're marrying through a matchmaker. At least in the beginning. For the guys, it's about whether he likes how she looks. For the women, it's about securing a better life, being provided for and taken care of, at whatever standard of living each particular woman is seeking. Love may very well blossom much later as they live together as husband and wife, but there's no guarantee. 25% failure rate is only those that you know of that ended in a legal divorce. There may be a lot more that don't get divorced, but each person is leading a separate life.....maybe husband has a mistress or wife got a lover, or both even.
Their version of 'curvy' is different from a westerner's view of curvy. I was told by a korean that Beyonce is considered fat in Asia 😳. Their beauty standards are different.
Vietnam is a monolingual country. Majority of Vietnamese couldn't speak other languages besides Vietnamese. The education system emphasize that students are taught English in school. But reality is, most students are unable to speak or understand simple English. In a relationship, if communication is a problem. What love are we talking about?
As long as both of you are about the money money money, you can pretend to be "happy". I am a living testimony to my own parents, grandparents & all the relatives who are about money. My uncles had mistresses & even brought them to their aunt's house, but hey, everybody's "happy" as they always say. I've never seen a more miserable people in my life. So much money, no soul.

However, if he is not breaking any laws and all parties are consensual, then I don't see anything wrong with this. 25% failure rate is to expected and quite low considering this is culture-shock, communication-gap involvement.
Unfortunately, for each match... To fix the language barrier, the solution has be to very specific to the couple. The matchmaker, can't just tell the Viet Girls to learn English.
The VT female learns and sings Mandarin $$$$ before she's an adult $$$$

This is very common nowadays. Half of the Singapore men married to a foreign wife. The expectations of Singapore ladies are too high: must meet one of the following criteria: must be super rich / minimum 180cm tall/ must be a white expat

Half??? You on magic mushrooms, mate? Probably men who are losers look for brides from poorer backgrounds and societies.
Most if not all of my friends, and myself, have Singaporean wives, born and raised.
This is brilliantly made and amazing to watch. Thank you. Turns out, people all over the world are the same :P
I can't help but feel that the matchmaker is trying to match "Whiskey" with the wrong women. I'm not sure that those two women he met in Vietnam would be considered "curvy" or "fleshy" to him.

Different languages and hard to communicate and understand each other's culture would lead to problems in the marriage
Vietnam is a monolingual country. Majority of Vietnamese couldn't speak other languages besides Vietnamese. The education system emphasize that students are taught English in school. But reality is, most students are unable to speak or understand simple English.
In a relationship, if communication is a problem. What love are we talking about?
your talking about loser men ....no pride...low self esteem
The music makes it even funnier…

As long as both of you are about the money money money, you can pretend to be "happy". I am a living testimony to my own parents, grandparents & all the relatives who are about money.

I could watch a whole series of this matchmaker, great video!
I couldn't get into it because of the small print and I'm watching it on my phone and when I do try to make the screen larger than I couldn't really see what was going on and so I would have to keep going back and forth .
What if just been easier if they did voiceover in English of the people talking .
A very honourable job. So many single women couldn't find the right person even only go for a date
That Singapore man aka client have unrealistic expectation. He should just give up and end the match making service .It's better for everyone including himself. He's like choosing cabbages. Aiyoh. Headache ah.
Kieu and Alvin look beautiful together ❤
Yes so you are looking beautiful?
Is it just me or does anyone else feel that some parts of this video seem wrong, disturbing and illegal? 😬
The girls are young enough to be his granddaughters. There is no love--it's just a transaction. the men need to be more realistic and find someone more age appropriate. once the young girls settle overseas, they will eventually divorce the old men and find their true loves, more in their age bracket. 50 year age gap..what do you expect. he's basically wanting to find a caregiver. The girls come all made up and in their best clothes and the guy goes there in flip flops and spends no effort to looking presentable. He may have more luck just living there for a few months and getting to know the community. The 2nd man, guy in his 40s, his bride doesn't even smile on her wedding day. So sad.
Making a living connecting people, starting families n creating baby is better than selling weaponry or starting wars!
0:40 very Taiwanese statements, love it
I was wondering if those Viet women will be given a singapore citizenship after they marry?
To my knowledge, it's not easy to obtain one. I came from Switzerland and my dad is half S'porean Chinese-half Dutch white ( my mom's Austrian-German white ). My dad got his S'porean citizenship after living in Singapore for more than a decade, however, I was only granted a PR ( Permanent Resident ) instead of. I'm curious to know.
Vietnamese lady married to Singaporean man can get PR after delivered a baby. Hence there are many vietnamese ladies trying to get PR status in Singapore will first married any Singaporean man, after gave birth and gotten their PR, they divorced the Singaporean men.
That’s why the matchmaker was sued so many times
i doubt so. you're right, singapore citizenship is tough to get. i'm sorry you only managed to become a PR.
You probably only got a PR as your dad didn't hold a Singapore citizenship and/or not living in Singapore when you were born.
The main reason i think they want they main population to be still chinese. Not white.
@@AznPride101 in my case, my grandfather is a Singaporean Chinese who married a Dutch caucasian woman , resulting in my father who is half Chinese-half Caucasian.
This Taiwanese man serving as a matchmaker charges way too much money. He is in the business to earn money for himself. Your luck with women depends on yourself. I am annoyed of seeing people going to matchmakers when they already have children and they want more? What? This is insane.

This video is so biased and hypocritical towards this matchmaker. If he wasn’t honest during his 30 year career, he would not be sought after now.
Comments here are Hilarious. 😂 It's no problem finding a woman with Money.
This man is not truthful about Singapore law and rule about foreigners living in Singapore. Vietnames women married into Singapore will not even get a PR. Your children born here will also not become citizen. The foreign bride and children can only lived in Singapore at 2 weeks and then leave.

Alright, I watched the whole video. I now understand why there is opposition against this Taiwanese matchmaker. He is match-making. That is completely fine. Also, both parties are consensual. Completely fine again. The problem is the fact that he is match-making internationally. Males from Singapore and females from Vietnam. This might be seen as an attempt to bring-in foreign individuals into the country, i.e, Singapore, to get citizenship. However, if he is not breaking any laws and all parties are consensual, then I don't see anything wrong with this. 25% failure rate is to expected and quite low considering this is culture-shock, communication-gap involvement. Regarding him being sued by prior clients, well that is again born out of unrealistic expectations. The guy is just a matchmaker. He does not raise those women up from childhood nor groom them to be eligible partners. The final decision is obviously with the male. He holds the money, he holds the ticket to Singapore. Amusing video. :D
why not do SEAGATE and Western Digital (merging with Kioxia) / Samsung Electronics / Micron and Sk Hynix?
