I am so glad TCM puts these up on UA-cam so those of us who no longer have access to the channel can see it. Comcast/Xfinity moved it to a more expensive service tier a few years ago and we haven't seen any of its programming since except when traveling (some hotels will offer it). Some of these people I hadn't even realized had died, like Cindy Morgan, Martin Mull and Morgan Spurlock. Thanks to all the folks at the channel for putting these videos together every year and doing them so well.

It was gratifying to see Elizabeth MacRae included in the year end tribute. When she passed earlier this year, the news media printed her obituary as Gomer Pyle actress dies, although there was more to Elizabeth than Gomer Pyle. She started in the 1950s in shows like Maverick and appeared in several episodes of Gunsmoke that should've made her a regular. And she appeared in a few movies along the way, though none were what anyone could call an A-film. But, I like to think about what Henry Fonda said about his movies: they couldn't all be A-movies. For every good movie he made, he made ten films that he called bad. He could've mentored a lot of actors and actresses who wanted only to do A-movies. I always hoped I would get Elizabeth's autograph since I thought she was such a sweet person and good actress. I always thought she was born in the 40s, though she was actually born in 1936. She didn't really seem that old in the TV series she was in and as for her movies, she made an impression on some of the critics and those that she didn't make an impression on, their loss. And who cares about what they thought? When she passed, I said a prayer for her and shed a tear for a beautiful angel. And also for her fellow actors and actresses and behind the scene personnel who left the world this year. They will all be missed.
The amount of talent lost this year was astounding, absolutely staggering. So thankful to have had these people be a small part of our lives. Bless them.
Very well done, as always, but I could not help, but notice that you forgot David Soul, who was in two movies in the seventies, Magnum Force and Johnny Get Your Gun, but I would gather he was more well known for his television work as he has not had a lot of cinematic roles.

Made me think of my mom who passed in March. She was a fan of TCM, also. She always reacted in kindness and sad by the passing of "stars" from the past. As always well done TCM. My mom is one of the few fans (that I Know) that would have reacted to Barbara Rush (It Came From Outer Space). I saw Cindy Morgan and totally forgot about Tron. But, I have seen Caddyshack SO MANY times that "Lacy Underall" is her first movie role I think of: "I was born to love you ... but you were born to love me first!" "Tie me up in some of your ties ... Ty?" I am not the only one surprised David Soul not mentioned? He died in January 2024. A true TV icon Starskey & Hutch; as well as the original Salem's Lot. So cool to see David Harris from Walter Hill's The Warriors getting some love. He was also good in the highly underrated A Soldier's Story directed by Norman Jewison (RIP). Teri Garr and Dabney Coleman both fondly remembered from my early teen years watching cable (HBO and Showtime) in the early 80's: From 9 To 5; to Young Frankenstein; Mr Mom; Wargames; and of course Garr and Coleman both memorably appearing in the iconic Tootsie (1982). Thanks for the memories 🙏
Beautifully moving. The only major omission that came to mind was Silvia Pinal, who starred in three of Luis Bunuel's most celebrated Mexican films (notably Viridiana).
Cheng Pei Pei is there but three other kung fu greats who passed this year were omitted: director Corey Yuen, actress Lily Li and frequent heavy Lee Hoi Sang.
Jesus, I forgot how many talented people we lost this year who touched our lives! Salute to everyone from Atlanta. Through film and the arts, they will never be forgotten ❤️
Once again, nicely done by TCM and the production crew that puts this all together. Music track was good, and 97 men and women were mentioned in this year's remembrance. 👍🏻
No one will ever say, "Jackass!" like Joe Flaherty, let alone have some of the funniest disgruntled reactions. This man was an underappreciated genius! Dan Wallin provided some of the best sound quality of many amazing film composers' music (especially for John Barry, Elmer Bernstein, Miklos Rozsa, Leonard Rosenman, Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, and Michael Giacchino). Earl Holliman, who had one of the funniest scenes with Rock Hudson in Giant (1956), as well as gave us a brilliant performance in the first Twilight Zone episode, and a marvelous supporting role in The Thorn Birds (1983). What can I say about Gena Rowlands, except that I loved her. The first film that I ever saw her in left a lifelong impression of her on me, and I always loved seeing her whenever I saw her in a movie; her kick-ass and heart-wrenching performance in Gloria (1980). What a great lady!🥹 There are so many brilliant others that we lost as well.
Beautiful as always. Thank you TCM cast and crew. Louis Gossett Jr. Was a tough one for me. I got to shake his hand once in 2015. I also fondly remember seeing Mitzi Gaynor in 2019. She dressed as a sailor for Hallowe'en night on the TCM Cruise.

My mother died in April at age 80. She always watched TCM. She always looked forward to the end of the year tributes
I.was also surprised David Soul wasn't included. Very sorry for the loss of your mom. 🙏
@@JudyAiken Thank you. Happy Holidays🎄
At first, I was confusing Cindy Morgan with Cindy Pickett until I saw the *TRON* clip.
@@JudyAiken he is mostly famous because of TV.
Always so gracefully done. Thank you.
4:15 a tear for Teri
Beautifully moving. The only major omission that came to mind was Silvia Pinal, who starred in three of Luis Bunuel's most celebrated Mexican films (notably Viridiana).
I totally agree. Sad she wasn't included.
Wish they had James earl jones clip in lion king saying remember. That was such a powerful line and scene . But I’m glad they finally got it on air
Thank you 💖
Beautiful❤❤😢😢😢
Magnificent. Thank You! They should play this segment at the Oscar ceremony in place of the disgraceful In Memorium segment that they display.
Cheng Pei Pei is there but three other kung fu greats who passed this year were omitted: director Corey Yuen, actress Lily Li and frequent heavy Lee Hoi Sang.
Facts
another fantastic effort by TCM... this year we lost a lot of fine stunt people. Kudos to all who create these tributes.
Sad thing is it's at least one person you know that passes every year.
Beautiful tribute. RIP to all we've lost.
Beautifully done as always.
As with every year, TCM touches our hearts and brings back memories of things we’ve almost forgotten. This is amazing.
Some who died I knew and others I didn’t. On the whole, this year was overwhelmingly filled with talent and I’m sad they had to go. We were blessed.
Well done TCM. It was a pleasure to watch moviemaking
What a great lady!🥹
There are so many brilliant others that we lost as well.
