    I've hauled livestock for several years and when I first got into it, it was more of a self-taught and watching other drivers and picking their brain and accepting their help. However it would have been nice to have this guy is a trainer for a couple days because the way he loads livestock with calm, coolness, and collectiveness is something to see. Keep up the good work hand.

    Great job loading them critters! I will say this, as a swine hauler everyday, the tqa handbook can get thrown in the garbage on any given load. It really takes several years of experience in this to get an idea of how random these animals act. Keep up the good work!

    Livestock take a certain amount of knowledge to handle. Hogs can be especially tough because they are basically 3 year olds with a LOT more weight behind them. Be careful with that hurdle, they can get a nose under it and jack your jaw hard enough to see stars. I've worked with and hauled plenty of stock (gooseneck trailers, not potbellies!) , but you do it with calm and alacrity. 👍👍

    Good job on the video.
    I was surprised to see so much variation on the sizes…..I guess I assumed they would be a little more uniform in size.

    Also- I bet the pigs can smell so much from the prior animals that they're all on scent overload. Makes 'em very nervous...but you do a good job.

    Something not mentioned in the video….loading livestock is also a very dangerous job. Those animals, especially cows, can be very unpredictable and will turn on you in a split second. Big thanks to Dallas and all others that haul livestock and everything else we need by truck! 👍

    You should get some knee pads for crawling on the 3rd deck & belly. Also helps to take half of the pigs in each compartment to unload. Seams like it would take longer but I could unload in half of the time with less squealing. Not criticizing just a suggestion from a former Speedway/LW Miller driver. Safe travels..

    Do you ever have to wet them down before leaving the facility? I don't see where you have a sprinkler system on your trailer where you can hook a hose up to...

    Might be a dumb question, but is there a purpose for the long coat? Seen you wear it in other videos. Great job on the videos by the way

    • @raymondbradley6788
      @raymondbradley6788 8 місяців тому +1

      Daniel, there are no dumb questions. I would assume it to keep your clothes clean. Just my guess.

    • @MorganOtt-ne1qj
      @MorganOtt-ne1qj 8 місяців тому +1

      There are dumb questions, but that's not one. The drover's coat does keep your clothes clean, and it's often oilskin that is easy to wash or just wipe clean.

    • @alanlanghorn9528

      Driver normally were a coat or coveralls and gum boots they don't get dirty clothes and they can drive straight away with getting clean cloths on

      They loosen up in transport & will spread out. The camera lens doesn’t show depth very well so it gives the illusion that space is limited

      Some of the trucks are set up for 4 decks to haul hogs, and some trucks are just for 2 deck hauling of cattle, so hogs are crowded more in those for a full load. The trailer Dallas has is set up for both, giving him (I think) 8 different compartments for hogs, but can be able to handle large cattle in 4 different compartments. 80000 pounds, maybe 100000 pounds in some states, limits the loading. That's total weight of truck, trailer, and livestock. Great question!

    • @dennisthrockmorton9714
      @dennisthrockmorton9714 7 місяців тому

      Yes, livestock haulers mostly use the same trailer or have multiple trailers for certain livestock depending on how many head of livestock need to be on and how heavy the load will be in the end.

      Sadly they are mutilated by the farmer. Animal agriculture is a very cruel business that abuses and exploits sentient beings 😞💔. Vegan for the animals 🌱

      @GeorgiaCoombes-p7h that's not mutilation they just cut off the tail 😅.. other pigs my eat it off if they didn't cut it off. City people are so funny😂 I'm a farm girl we had pigs I raised a pig for the fair and we were not mean to any of our animals and we had all kinds

    Pigs gotta be the most demonic/possessed sounding animal I’ve ever heard. That squeal sounds horrible.

    • @GeorgiaCoombes-p7h
      @GeorgiaCoombes-p7h 4 місяці тому

      They make that sound because they are scared and they know death is coming for them. Generally animals like pigs and other plant-eaters are very mild in nature. Evil and demonic is a perception of the human mind and what we do to innocent animals is heart breaking 😞💔
