I have recently got myself a straight razor.,nicked myself a few times, not bad or deep. The results are great, last longer than other razors. Still getting the hang of tricks, but going well.
Depending on how bad it is, you can shave around acne, moles & skin tags, but if your acne is really bad, you may be better of doing an acne management routine first, then get into shaving once it's under control.
Some barbers "go in dry" without a lube but this isn't tolerated well for those with sensitive skin. A lubricant will help the razor glide over the skin's surface and that will reduce post shave redness & irritation.
Hey thanks, we use the Milkman 2 in 1 Beard Shampoo which relaxes the beard follicles and makes it really easy to brush and/or lightly blow dry straight. We have this article on straightening your beard www.milkmanaustralia.com/blogs/news/115834884-how-to-straighten-your-beard
Pores do not open or close, they’re predetermined by your genetics and temperature doesn’t shrink or expand them, only benefit of the hot towel is to soften the hair before cutting.
Strictly correct but most lay people don't know the difference and search for "cut throat" so we named the video that way. The tips are the same apart from changing the blade.
some good tips, but a guy with a 12 inch beard telling you how to shave, :). like a bald guy telling you how to style your hair, come on guys :). the 'not straight down tip I thought was good'.
Thanks mate, we find most lay people aren't aware of the subtle differences between the two and will search for 'cut throat' content even though most will probably have a shavette. Given these tips are mostly applicable to both, we don't think they'll be disappointed.
Thanks. A good clearly explained video. I've been putting off using mine for so long out of fear of giving myself a fish gill
hahah, yeah the best tip is to go slow, and keep that skin in front of the blade nice and taught.

Do you recommend I practice on my legs or something less noticeable?
Do you need to use shaving gel/cream?

They are both very experienced barbers, that's how they're qualified!

I just cut the sh out to myself 😂😢
Nooo, the biggest thing to remember is the angle of the blade and keeping the skin in front of the blade nice and taught.
