The husband demanding an apology for the lady who asked her mom for post partum help is a controlling nightmare. I can actually answer the tear vs cut question…we discussed this in my anatomy/physiology class for nursing. If you think about it on a microscopic level… if you cut through skin or tissue with scissors…you’re cutting cells clean in half, ignoring how they’re adhered to one another. But if you tear…the skin will tear in a pattern where the cells naturally want to separate from one another …leaving more cells intact over all. And it’s easier for two separate cells to re-approximate than for numerous singular cells sliced in half to mend.
I don’t know if that makes sense. It just surprised me to hear you guys discussing something that so vividly stuck with me from that class. Weird

completely. shows in clear view who he considers for life decisions and personal stuff. like why wouldn't he call his wife to cry about the car and let out all that sentimental justification ? sounds like he just knew she wouldn't approve so he did the most spoiled mama's boy thing and did "in secret" while confiding with the one person he actually has some respect for, his mother. pretty freudian. therefore it didn't seem impulsive at all to me, it was a clear decision to only let her know when she couldn't do anything about it anymore.

The kids are an easy emotional scapegoat and excuse for him to latch onto - and yeah, his reaction definitely makes him the one that needs to grow up.
Also, the only thing that'll emotionally scar the kids if they do find it, is the parents reaction. Act cool and the kids wont know a thing. Act like it's a big deal and you'll make it one.

As a child of divorce, I highly recommend getting one if you’re in a toxic relationship. Your kids will do better and as a parent you will do better. Not to say divorce didn’t fk me up, it did, but that was because I had immature parents (they were young) who handled it badly and back in my day, divorce was so taboo. Things are different now. I’m so so glad my parents divorced. My step dad is like my dad and my bio dad and step dad are great friends, he comes to all our family events and even joining us all for Christmas. Plus every year, all my parents and all the kids from all the marriages have Easter together. We’re one big happy mixed family. My step mum was a monster, but dad ditched her years ago, so all good there.

The bronco story... My grandpa put 20k into a college fund for my siblings and I. We were always told that we'd get it when we turned 18. My oldest brother got his and spent it on whatever he wanted. When I was 16 my mom said that we needed to put our money that my grandpa saved for us towards property that she wanted. It was on 9 acres. Her plan was to buy it, "give" us each 2 acres and we would all build houses on it and live together. I never wanted to live there but she took my money without my consent. I also never got the land that she promised me. She said since I never cared about it, that she was only going to deed the land to my brothers and not me. Anytime I'd ask her about my portion that went into it, she'd say that I didn't even put that much into it because my money had "depreciated". Anyway, fast forward to a couple months ago my dad finally told me the truth. He and my mom convinced my grandma (my grandpa had passed away by this time) to send the 20k to them so they could have it in the bank where they were so they could distribute it to us when we came of age. My dad told me that they took all of the money and bought a timeshare with it. I remember them going on vacations, but I never knew how they were able to afford it. After they got out of the timeshare, they bought the property with what was left and then got a loan for the rest.

First of all husband is definitely the asshole no discussion. Denying her support after a birth is so ratchet. And for me it also sounds like he’s trying to isolate her.
That being said, I want to point out that most chronic health issues come in episodes and don’t make you need help every day. I’m living with an auto immune disease and most of the time I live a totally normal life. But every now and then I have really bad flare ups. I also moved closer to my family again to have somebody I can ask for help without being ashamed. It’s difficult to be an adult who sometimes can’t even buy their own groceries or clean their home. Especially when you’re young people can be sooo judgmental so it’s important to have people you feel save around. And I really like my in-laws but I still prefer to have my own parents around when I’m at my worst.
To put it in a nutshell, please don’t ask how bad can your illness really be just because someone has a good episode and eg can go on a business trip.
Again not advocating for him here, but chronically ill people in general! :)

In my opinion, the mother sounds extremely immature, and is likely a teenager emotionally. I think her flirting with OP’s boyfriends and sleeping with her daughter’s (at the time) fiancé is probably her competing with her daughter. She’s most likely jealous of her youth and insecure about her own desirability. She may even resent that she had OP, and/or lacks the ability to put her child first. i lost my dad to suicide when i was 15, so for the guy who bought the car, i felt sympathetic. but given their finances, there would be no way in hell that i could physically put my family in a bad place just to savor his memory. i would most definitely take it for a drive if i could, and i think that would have been sufficient enough. i’d probably laugh and thank God for letting me get a drive out of it years later and livening the memories. but i’d definitely not sacrifice my family’s resources.

The sex toy story just feels like a jealousy type of situation. I’ve had male partners in the past get so angry that I would even own and/or used one while we were dating and like…ok dude chill out it’s not a big deal. Idk, like it’s not uncommon for married partners to own toys either? Like you gotta spice it up by yourself too

Yeah and he's like "I don't want it around the kids" like what??? It isn't. Like keep it somewhere where your kids dont go.

@@ppapas6457 no because he’s acting like the kids will have an interaction with it at all when they won’t, at most they might accidentally find it and even then it’s not a big deal it’s just a little awkward and embarrassing it won’t actually seriously affect them. fucker is def using ‘think about the children1!11!!!1!’ to cover up the fact he’s threatened by silicone.
