Thanks to you I will be replacing my plugs in my 1999 RL today! I can’t believe what I used to pay the dealer to do this stuff for me. Thank you !
I love your thorough approach and detailed explanations. My Acura RL is my first luxury car and having a more detailed guide to repairs is reassuring!
Thanks for these videos. Many many years ago, I inherited my mom's RL before I was even able to drive. She had recently bought it & paid it off before she had passed, there was no way I could let it go. It's basically the only thing I kept from her whole estate. Anyways, the car means a lot to me & no one could possibly give it the care I think it deserves so I try to do everything myself. This video was EXACTLY how I'd make one; multiple camera angles, specs on the screen, & step-by-step processes couldn't have been any better. I used your video to change my own spark plugs all by myself (with my husband's supervision, lol)! If you can change a light bulb, you can change these spark plugs. This car is my daily driver, she is garage-kept, & super clean. I have been in need of a new rack & pinion, but I'm hesitant on buying the aftermarket stuff so I continue to drip power steering fluid. A video on that would be great, unless I beat you to it! 😆 But hopefully yours doesn't need one any time soon! Thanks again, keep up the good work!
Yes, these are very good cars for their age. I'm glad this video helped you. I don't have a car that needs a power steering rack, but I'll definitely make a video if it becomes an issue.
Thanks for checking out the videos!
@@carapprentice So I've also been dealing with an oil leak & saw your Valve Cover Gasket videos. That passenger side looks manageable but I'd honestly rather do the rack than those valve cover gaskets! 🤣
I'm probably the opposite - would rather replace valve cover gaskets 😀
Appreciate the video i got a 2000 rl as a project.. i am a beginner diyer and yr videos very detail keep the coming
Glad you've found them useful. I should have another video out soon. Thanks for stopping by the channel!

Perfect!
Just what I was looking for...thank you
Glad it was useful. Thanks for watching!
Great Video ! Thanks Is it necessary to remove the strut bar ? Seems like you could access the coils without removing the bar. ( I could be wrong )
Yes, the strut bar needs to be removed. Thanks for watching the video!
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
So I have a 2001 RL that I replaced an alternator belt, turned on the car with no issues then the car died and will crank but won't start. It's getting fuel but no spark. The ignition coils are getting 12v power when ignition is on but will not spark when cranking. Would you have any clue what I should do to try to fix this issue? I'm not too familiar with these cars and it is my only car at the moment. Thanks in advance for any help 🙏
Just curious if you possibly have the part number for coil pack replacement? Tia
Yes, it's 30520-PR7-A33. Pricey. Used Honda coils have worked fine for me in the past.
Website for your spark plug socket. Please :)
There's a link in the video's description. Thanks for checking out the video!
I have a 97 RL, I notice that after a while of driving on the highway the car will stall when I come to a stop. It also sometimes stalls when I put it in reverse and pull out of my driveway, it always turns back on but I have no idea what could be causing this, I was hoping you would know? If you can please help that would be great, thanks!
If this behavior coincides with warmer weather, my guess is that the main relay under the dash is failing. Honda main relays are notorious for cracked solder joints that expand with heat, cutting power to the fuel pump. The joints can normally be repaired. One quick test of the main relay is to heat it with a hair dryer to verify the no-start condition, then place the relay in the freezer (in a plastic bag) or hit it with cold spray.
What about the sparkplug boot?
The boot is included in the coil pack. Is there something specific you wanted to know about the boot?
Like all the RL videos.
I just perchest a 02 RL n there were 0 codes. 134k miles I drove it about 50miles n check engine light came on. I scaned n it said 02 sensor bad. I cleared n everything was good for a day. I got close to mt gas tank. Started to sputter like it was out of has. I stopped n filled er up. It continued to sputter. I limped it home. I then re scanned. It now shows 1399. Any help is grateful
Was it P1300 by chance, which is a random misfire? I wonder if trash from the fuel tank was sucked into the fuel line when the car ran low on gas. Edit: I remembered that I received a P1399 because of a clogged fuel injector. You could try a test I did on the Acura Legend to see if one of the injectors got clogged: ua-cam.com/video/LfTyugT28qI/v-deo.html
