Dude, I bought an RL from 02 recently and most of the service items I have had to replace or work on lately have all been covered by you. Thanks for the knowledge and insights, the extra effort you go through to film this for us is invaluable. Boutta go replace a starter, valve cover gaskets, and timing belt 🤞
20:45 where on the car are these bolts? I’m currently working on my Acura and I’ve gotten this far but I’m not sure where your looking exactly 🙏 hopefully you respond
Vin Dadi on UA-cam. I also took out the axle out by removing the whole intermediate shaft by removing 3 12mm bolts from that collar and it slides right out. I couldn’t get it out like you did, I was beating on it and that collar is aluminum and was getting beat up
@@ncsarola Cool, I'll have to take a look. Yes, I was striking a little higher on the axle than I wanted - didn't notice until it was almost all the way out.
I hate that companies make it so hard to replace parts that are destined to need replacing every 6 years or so. Starter, Alternator, bulbs, water pump etc.
These OEM starters are normally very durable. I believe this one was the 24-year-old original; there was no record of it having been replaced in the stack of paperwork I received from the second owner. The alternator in my Legend was 29 years old when I replaced it.
Im ashamed to say that my 2000 quit on me in December, first week on the job and its been sitting at a gas station since. I will most likely get it towed this weekend. I really dont want the car because my Wife loved driving it and she is no longer here

They're accessible from the wheel wells, and they're tucked just inside the splash shield.

Remind me not to buy an Acura with that type of engine/starter combination. How many labor hours does the book say for replacing that starter?
I read that it's 4.3 hours of labor if you're doing it by the book like I showed. Another person posted a video with some shortcuts.

I just did mine. Not necessary to take down exhaust or exhaust shield or the alternator. 2 hours in & out.
