Steven Wilson, described by The Telegraph as ‘the most successful British musician most people have never heard of’ embarked on his hugely ambitious sold-out To The Bone world tour in 2018. Founder and frontman of adored outsider rock band Porcupine Tree; one half of Blackfield; a Grammy nominated back catalogue remixer for acts like Roxy Music, King Crimson and Tears for Fears, as well as a solo artist hugely respected for a series of visionary LPs, from 2008’s Insurgentes, to his bestselling album To The Bone. Home Invasion celebrates the very best from across his career so far, presented as a cinematic multi-media show with glorious visualisations and outstanding musicianship. This stunning concert film was captured on the final night of his three night sold out residency at the Royal Albert Hall, London in March 2018, concerts which were hailed by media and fans alike as among the very best shows of the year.

My son introduced me Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree about four years ago when he was 16. I didn’t pay much attention at the time. A year later, Steven toured and played at a small, but well-known club in our city. My son was 17 and needed an 18+ to get him into the club and asked me to take him. Steven performed this song maybe second or third and I was floored. I suffer crippling depression at times and the lyrics, the ache, just resonated. I’m now a lifetime fan, of course. My son is 20 now, in college, and my husband and I live in a different country so I don’t get to see him much. But when I’m missing him really bad and feeling down, I play this and remember the night, not that I first heard this song, but that I spent with my son, listening to his favorite band together. One of the best nights of my life. I’m crying now writing this, with Pariah on in the background.

I suffered from depression and anxiety, and this song was one of the many pieces that helped me out of it. I'm currently feeling awesome and happy about my life, but still getting tears in my eyes every time I listen to this song. Thank you Steven Wilson, Ninet Tayeb and the rest of the band to help me cope with that horrible monster called depression.

A few weeks ago I found out that I have autism and I'm almost 51 years old. I have always been a pariah, or at least I feel like I have. I bought Too The Bone when the day it came out, and this became my new favorite song before it was halfway over on the first listen. As far back as I can remember I've know I wasn't like the other children. I struggled to make friends because I really didn't understand the point. I hated school and cried most every day until about the 4th grade. For that reason alone I was a target for bullies. I was the wimpy kid that didn't like people. I really did, I just don't understand but a few. I spent my whole working cateer working my way to the top at the pinnacle I never lasted long because I knew I didn’t derve to be where I was and I was terrified that the people I worked for would find out and send me packing. I was convinced that they could see through my charade from the beging and some how dropped me through the cracks. I have two kids that I wanted to be closer to than I was, but I had no idea what do to make that happen. I have a grandson now and I can feel my self pulling away from him. I want to die every time I think about it. I'm the only papa he will ever have, because I have no idea how to stop it. My wife is all that I have to take comfort in. I haven't spoken to my father in four years. I see my mother on holidays, so thats not much better. I'm writing this as a public message, but have your children tested early. There are things that can help them to have a better life. You don’t want them to lose the race before it has even begun. There is really not a lot that can be done if they are diagnosed at my age. Otherwise they may grow up hating themselves because they can't be like other people. This song is a comfort
To me to. If nothing else it seems like someone else has felt the way I do.

"The Raven..." is the last album I bought and really loved it, just was listening to other stuff. Recent life events have led me back to old Porcupine albums that spoke to me deeply, and now to his solo works. And Ninet, my goodness, what an angel. Her voice reminds me of Anneke van Giersbergen in the context that it sounds like no one else, to me.

    Verse 1: Steven Wilson]
    I'm tired of weakness
Tired of my feet of clay
I'm tired of days to come
    I'm tired of yesterday
And all the worn out things that I ever said
    Now it's much too late
The words stay in my head
    [Chorus 1: Ninet Tayeb]
So the day will begin again
    Take comfort from me
    It's up to you now
You're still here and you'll dig in again
    That's comfort to you
    It's up to you now
    So pariah you'll begin again
    Take comfort from me
And I will take comfort from you
    [Verse 2: Steven]
    I'm tired of Facebook
    Tired of my failing health
    I'm tired of everyone
    And that includes myself
    Well being alone now
    It doesn't bother me
But not knowing if you are
    That's been hell you see
    [Chorus 2: Ninet]
So the day will begin again
    Take comfort from me
    It's up to you now
You're still here and you'll dig in again
    That's comfort to you
    It's up to you now
    So pariah you'll begin again
    Take comfort from me
    It will take time
    [Outro: Steven]
    Don't you worry
    Don't worry about a thing
    'Cause nothing really dies
    Nothing really ends

I just realised why I like his music. He was the lead singer for porcupine tree... what a great band.

So grateful I met Steven around 1994/5 with Porcupine Tree at the Liverpool Lomax venue! He signed my copy of Up the Downstair, absolutely so happy he's achieved what he's deserved :)
I'll never forget Chris Maitland (ex PT drummer) also signing it saying "Do me a favour pal, don't tell Steve!" He wasn't on the album..

I discovered Steven and PT about 2 or 3 years ago but I wish I had much sooner. I went through a depression from 2019 to 2021 or early '22, was hurt by someone I considered a friend and it caused me to completely shut down socially and question everything I thought I knew about the world and myself. The verses of this describe what I was feeling perfectly.

One of the finest deeds my life did to me was the music of Steven Wilson.
Cmon ... No words I have can describe the impact he can make to people's lives with his music. I have no idea about his personal life but when it comes to music, Steven Wilson is one of my standards to decide what good music for me should be like.
Dear Steven , just accept my respect as I am too poor with words to pour my honest feelings for your music. ❤️❤️
