Just saw this show in Kansas City, and I literally had tears streaming down my face for much of the show. I knew all the material, but couldn't imagine the emotional impact of seeing the show live, with best sound system I've heard and remarkable videos accompanying it. First thought I had when the show ended was "where are they playing next?", and I was ready to book tickets to Dallas until I saw the $1500 cost. I've seen lots of shows in 59 years, but this was the first spiritual experience I've had at one.

I was at the same show dude, and I can't get it out of my head. That was actually the first time I've heard the Hand Cannot Erase album, and I think it might be my favorite album ever at this point. I'll remember and cherish that show for the rest of my life

I was there too. It was the best concert I've ever seen, although maybe I'm bias because SW is my favorite songwriter. The visuals were surreal, performances spot-on. The Raven That Refused to Sing performance was... I don't even know how to describe it. Let's just say that it's SW's favorite song he wrote and it definitely shows.

I saw 3 shows on the Hand Cannot Erase Tour because I knew it would be an emotional show and I wanted one show where I got wrapped up in the story, and one where I could sit back a bit more and just take in the music. With most if not all the songs being played, at one show straight through in order, it was truly an impactful emotional experience.
For those that might not know, to truly understand this great album its worthwhile to know the background story. Wilson saw a documentary film about this young English girl who was found in her apartment deceased, and they determined she had been dead for 3 years. She was a skeleton at that point, surrounded by christmas gifts she was wrapping. It was one of these large low income concrete faceless apartments, and no one, not even her family members, had bothered checking in on her for over 3 years. The landlord never checked because the TV was on for 3 years and she autopayed her rent. The cause of death remains a mystery, could have been a drug overdose, but no foul play. She just expired from the world and no one noticed. That sad story is what led Wilson to write the Hand Cannot Erase album. I bought the documentary film on DVD and its so sad and shocking. She led a fairly normal life, and then she was gone and forgotten.
Thus, being at the live concerts with the videos was very impactful and I welled up quite a few times, especially at the end. Just a powerful personal story, and Wilson is a genius to set it to powerful emotional music.
This song, obviously at the end, was the most emotional and I had to try hard to contain it in the live shows. Such a poignant powerful song. And the line "Hey brother, I feel like I'm living in parentheses...", my god. I still well up every time I hear this song and see the video. And its best when paired with the instrumental outro as they did here live.
For those interested, the documentary film is called Dreams of a Life, and the women's name was Joyce Vincent.

    Hey brother, happy returns
    It's been a while now
I bet you thought that I was dead
But I'm still here, nothing's changed
    Nothing's changed
Hey brother, I'd love to tell you
    I've been busy
But that would be a lie
    'Cause the truth is
The years just pass like trains
I wave but they don't slow down
    Don't slow down
Hey brother, I see the freaks and
    Dispossessed on day release
    Avoiding the police
I feel I'm falling once again
But now there's no one left to catch me
Hey brother, I feel I'm living in parentheses
And I've got trouble with the bills
    Do the kids remember me?
Well, I've got gifts for them
    And for you much sorrow
But I'm feeling kind of drowsy now
    So I'll finish this tomorrow

I don't like saying this ,but Mr Wilson /Mr Beriberi,.But they produce monumental soundscapes and lyrics ,you wish you`d have thought of . And with Dolby Atmos, they have taken some of the Floyd's sound to another level in there own sphere. Thanks, for it all.

Getting ready to see SW for the first time in Asheville... 4 days from now. Been into PT for a good handful of years but only within the last couple got into his solo stuff. I can’t wait. I’ve seen Tool like 6 times but this is a whole different planet.

So, what is this Mr. Wilson doing, making people cry all the time making everyone cry? I cried last night being upset about some people to whom I had been close.
