The one you got is a Y58 it is 4.3 FD instead of 4.11

You might want to consider changing your trans oil after the day of drifting. Just putting that out there.

Can you use ANY BRZ/FRS rear diff? Or is there a difference with the AT vs MT diffs? Experience would tell me it doesn't matter AT vs MT.

Will this work on stock manuals JZX100s?
What RPM you at when driving at 70 mph on the motorway ?
you can use jzx bolts if you swap out the gt86 bushes for jzx ones as they are the same size
and youi're supposed to use the jzx bush cap/lid things also
i have serial9 bushings on the way, so the fronts will fit in the Y38 is what you're saying? was worried i was gonna have to buy new bushings for the front

I just picked up one last night for my jzx110
It’s got an lsd but it’s the factory 3.73 ratio
So I’m chucking in the 4.11 to wake it up a bit

But they were both auto
So keen to see how it goes in a manual
Just gotta get motivated to stay back after work and chuck it in
Cause I’m not doing a diff on the floor
Last one I did was in an fc rx7 took 3 people laying under the car and 2 jacks to get it in haha

Can you use any gt86 toyota diff? Do you need different driveshafts/halfshafts? AAAAnd do you use the gt86 stub axles or the jzx?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing when he said 4.1:1. Y58 is 4.3, that probably explains why 2nd gear doesn't hook for him with his r154 and new power
Check out the latest upload by Driving4Answers in which he discusses open, LSD and welded diffs and the suitability of each for drifting. It`s really good.
