If you and your lady enjoy alt j I highly recommend you check out Miike Snow, two door cinema club, jungle, tame impala, Phoenix, arcade fire, Empire of the Sun, Portugal. The Man, crosses, broken bells, glass animals, Chromeo, Cage the elephant, neighbourhood, gorillaz, foster the people, MGMT, cannons, Phantogram, chvrches, purity ring, Cherub, the strokes, interpol, Primus, ween, Pixies, modest mouse, deftones, queens of the stone age, Audioslave, and Ill stop there ha. I could go on forever! I did veer a little off course toward the end, all of artists I listed after Cherub aren't very similar to alt j, but they're amazing. I will eternally be in debt to my ex for showing me ween, Primus, queens of the stone age and he also showed me alt j. I also love punk and underground hip hop. None of the radio BS like baby 69 rich boy NBA moneyboy, pathetic excuses for hip hop. The only mainstream ones I like are Devin the dude, outkast/big boi has phenomenal solo material, prof is hilarious and clever, underachievers, Flatbush zombies, Cudi, wu tang, Swollen Members, eminem, Andre nickatina, natedogg, snoop and e40. I like the intellectual underground ones like Atmosphere, zion I, cunninlynguists, hieroglyphics, del/deltron, Sol, Sam Lachow, living legends, technine, brother Ali and many more. K I'll shut up now. Thanks again for your service! I hope you and your Chica check out some of the bands. You won't regret it! Maybe you'll discover a new fave.
Saw them live when an awesome wave came out in a little club, was at the very front with my sister and girlfriend. To this day, the best sound I’ve ever heard. They played the album start to finish, sounded identical to the recordings, I thought I was going to explode from the bass vibrating my every atom. I’ve searched for that experience ever since, but I don’t think I’ll ever get it. My gf saw them months later again in an arena, and she said it wasn’t even close to what we got in that club just feet away from them. I wish I could time travel….
