Tagging along with Colin and Joe is such a great treat. A real reminder that it is the experience in the natural places of the world that makes it all worth while. Thank you Sigma! I can't wait for the next installment...
Loved the chat at the end about composition. Two very different photographers who mostly produce very different images from the same location. Great stuff.
As I said to Colin recently, the equipment we have today is exciting and when in the hands of exponents form the golden age of landscape photography the results become truly inspiring. A joy to watch to master craftspeople doing what they do best. Also seeing Joe work with just 3 focal lengths (plus the excellent 500mm) shows it's vision and creativity that's the bottom line.
Colin & Joe's chat about composition towards the end was very interesting. I read a phrase the other day that when we compose an image it should be to be "about something, rather than of something". The difference is subtle, but the impact quite profound.
While so much of UA-cam is saturated with endless videos of hacks and tricks to produce the same recycled images-it is so refreshing, informative and inspiring to hear to experts engaged in a conversation about art, craft and connection to their subjects.
I envy you both for being in such a beautiful landscape! How do you handle this without gloves? Thanks for the great video to you and SIGMA ( I use their lenses with great joy, too)!
Nice vlog with beautiful views and inspiring photographing possibilities. However does Colin ever stopped talking? In Holland we would asked him to switch off his radio........
Another great episode.. particularly liked the discussion towards the end where they talked about composition - one of the things I slightly disagree with (to a point) thought.. You see a scene and probably point the camera at it - obviously adhering to certain criteria I suppose - but take what you enjoy.. does it have to have all those elements that people talk about.? Round 2 went to Colin - that lens choice was probably Joe's downfall in the locations... the 105 macro shot from Colin was fab.
It looks like you are both having a great time together. Like both of you all this hype about you must use leading lines drives me mad too. Like you said it's what you see with your own eyes is the best way. Great location and image's.

Again excellent thank you gentlemen for providing true inspiration and insight. Well done Sigma for providing such great content. More please.
Absolutely brilliant series. Could easily make these longer. Hopefully, another series next year.
Wow, what a landscape and experience with those waves and stacks. I would love to experience that with the Sigma 500mm 5.6.
Thank you ever so much again! Great location, awesome seascape, beautiful photos!
Loving this series. Great to tag along with these great photographers. We went to Orkney in May and had a wonderful time.

I enjoyed watching the two of you find your images.
Rusting Prongs Joe, Wabi Sabi! Oh those waves, majestic.
Great video, lovely location
Ep2 is every bit as enjoyable as Ep1 :)
Entrancing, entertaining and informative.

Great location and image's.
It ain’t the lens, it’s the photographic eye!
