    I cannot tell you how much I enjoy watching these two great photographers together. Always makes me chuckle when Colin tells Joe off for not giving the land enough space to breathe! It's so fascinating to watch and listen to the thought processes of two such outstanding landscape photographers. And what a joy to see Orkney too. Thanks for making this happen.

    I love these mini-series of videos with Joe and Colin. The banter is great but also the insights into their approach and thinking is fantastic.

    Nothing better than seeing Prior and Cornish together like this, keep it coming. Sigma lenses continue to impress. Cornish's shot at 9:51 is utterly spectactular in particular.

    Absolutely brilliant to hear these two chat about their craft in such a relaxed manner. Very interested in Joe's choice of lenses. I had heard that the 35mm prime was an ideal landscape lens and as it was Joe's first choice there is clearly some truth in that statement! Perhaps the next lens on my shopping list? ;)

    Two great landscape photographers in great landscapes. Good job they don’t use Nikon mirrorless or the lens selection segment could have been quite short.

    • @pleatedskirt18
      @pleatedskirt18 Місяць тому

      Personally speaking, if I were using a Nikon, I would be using a Nikon lens. I do use a Nikon, but not mirrorless, so I have masses to chose from, but tend to limit it to two lenses out at any time - normally, mtymuch loved 24mm PC-e and my 24-70, 2.8. The PC slows you down enormously, and that is a good thing in this day and age of instant this, that and the other. A few [hopefully] good shots, as opposed to masses of drive-filling mediocre ones.
      Happy picture taking, and,remember, some of the best shots are when the fair-weather photographs are huddled up inside.

      @@pleatedskirt18 Except the video is sponsored by Sigma so just as they didn't present them with a selection of Sony lenses, neither would they present them with a selection of Nikon lenses.

    I prefer a shutter speed of about 1/4 to 3/8 of a second for waves, and maybe speed blend if there are birds

    Next time around May watch the moon set on Scapa Bay, or September go to The Foveran for your tea and watch the moon rise.

    I've been mulling this video over over the weekend. I stand by my original comment that to hear these to chat about their approach to their subject is wonderful and fascinating... BUT @SigmaUK you are missing a huge opportunity to put the Sigma fp or fpL into the hands of these two and see what they can create. Although you tried very hard to hide it, it didn't take a genius to work out which camera was being used in this video, but imagine how powerful it would be to openly use a Sigma camera instead. I take my fpL to every UK camera club talk I do and without fail everyone says the phrase "I didn't know Sigma made cameras" and my camera gets picked up and played with repeatedly. The fpL is a superb landscape photography tool, and given the reputation of Joe and Colin in the landscape photography community across the world it would only ever be positive to see the camera being used in content like this.

    Heard Joe had an accident recently where he fractured his neck or something? Hope he'll get better soon!

    Its the artistic photographer’s eye that counts, not the lens! You may have the best tech possible but if you can’t visualise the photograph and use the light to your advantage then you are at a disadvantage.
