In this week’s video we head out to a location we’ve been wanting to visit for a while. The conditions for creative abstract photography were ideal, using a river running off the cliffs into the ocean proved many opportunities to try something a little different. I initially chose the wide angle lens but quickly realised the beauty lay in the smaller details. Interesting, intricate textures and details revealing themselves, especially when the light glistening onto the water. A lovely day out enjoying the Isle of Lewis and its stunning coastline. Great abstracts Adele, I love the way you captured the sunlight in the water, very effective, but strangely out of all of them, my favourites were the 4 images starting at 4:40 with the lovely cool blue tones - gorgeous. Great to see that your enthusiasm for Harris & Lewis is undiminished after your 1st year there, and you're still out there discovering little gems like this one 👍. No chuckles this time (sorry 😥) just my very best wishes to you both, hoping you have a fantastic christmas and happy new year in your little piece of heaven on earth.🥰🥰🥰 🥂🎁
Hi Mark 😊 Thanks so much, it’s a little place that we’ve been wanting to return to, so I’m glad we stopped off to take a look. Initially the wide lens was on but I was feeling quite experimental so changed over. The intricate little details and textures are fascinating, even more so when you zoom in….. I love it when the images from the same 20 minutes are so different depending on the conditions. We’re still loving every second and say almost every day ‘we can’t believe we live here’ We’ve one more video to share before Christmas but if we don’t have the opportunity again… All the very best to you and your family. Good evening ladies and what a great spot ! Glad to see you stayed safe and didn’t venture in 😂 Lovely conditions and light to capture some splendid intimate shots which I enjoyed - especially with the choice of music - some of my favourite artists and recognisable tunes . Hi Andrew, thanks so much, definitely a fantastic little location with lots of potential. Great this time of year with the setting sun and light over that way. Ahhh I was itching to get the wellies on but knowing when to be sensible is key… I did come away thinking all I seem to be saying at the moment is about being safe 🤦🏻♀️ Agree… sometime we spend hours trying to chose the right music, sometimes it’s easier than other videos but Epidemic Sound have a fabulous range to choose from. Hi there, been watching your channel for a few weeks now - loving the content. I have a request, any chance you could put the shutter speed and details underneath the pictures when you show them, please? Would have been particularly useful to know for the abstract water shots. Thanks!
Hello… Happy New Year 🎉 Thanks so much, glad you are enjoying the videos. For this particular video, I used 1/10th of a second on the shutter, around f16 (I didn’t use any ND filters) and ISO 64 Hope that helps 😀 Adele & Max
