    I’m really surprised no one pointed out that when the other guy hit the second can first he actually missed and hit the plate. The splatter of the bullet punctured the can so he actually missed. I had to rewind and play a few times but when he hits a dot appears in the middle of the plate. Just shocked no one caught it yet.

      Hey you are right he did hit the plate where there was 6 holes then there was 7 bullet splatter good eye man.

    For those of you that don’t have a nice .22 bolt gun….. get one! I own over 50 guns and the .22lrs are always my favorite. Cheap, quiet, accurate FUN! I’d rather do this in my backyard than get all tactical and play soldier any day of the week.

      It is amazing how far the little 22lr has come in the last 5 years or so. I agree with you, its cheap to shoot and its alot of fun, I took my cz's out to 300 yards before it got too hot and both could ring the gong easily if the wind was light. I learned more on that trip using dope and ballistics calculators etc, I was more than impressed my cz 457 was less than 14" off target the first shot and shots 3 thru 5 were on target, I don't know how it gets any better, but I do have a vudoo on order... maybe thats the ticket

      @@paulbarclay4114 I'm glad you enjoy your 10-22, I felt I needed time spent behind a bolt gun and semi autos to understand their differences, I started with a single shot then went to a lever gun then a bolt gun then semi autos, they all have benefits to me, I honestly can't say one is better than another, just all are unique, and 22lr is my favorite round, take care Paul

    I have never shot a .22 rifle out to 400 yards but at 250 yards with my 1710 HB Anschutz sporter I could keep the group less than 5 " . I was well pleased to that good with a sporter rifle. I oftened wondered what it would actually do with a target stock, match ammo and a proper rest. Your shooting amazes me. I think people under estimate the CZs . I had one that was as close to my Anschutz as it could get and not be equal. I believe with a little work on it it would be as accurate as my Anschutz? I enjoyed your video.

    Well done. Loved the competition guys and great shooting. New rules though......just an idea. Take turns to start. Shot for shot, doesn’t matter who starts. If you get the can on your 3rd shot and your friend gets his on the 3rd shot…even. No points. If you get yours on the 4th shot and your friend misses, you get a point. Plus… you now get to shoot at his can. First hole in the can gets the point.

      I bought a Coldshot 150 moa adjustable scope base, its basically a bolt with an adjustable wheel attached that as you spin the wheel it cants the scope base / scope 1/4 moa per click up to 150 moa, so your scope can stay optically centered without using the scopes adjustments or looking thru the edges of the scope glass, it should be more clear vs looking thru the edges of the glass, I haven't taken it out yet, its too hot but I am wanting to go at least 440 yards with my 22lr

    Great fun guys nice shooting 400 yards is sure out there the CZ did a very good job against the Voodoo considering the huge difference in the price , I have a CZ455 fitted with a CZ 20” varmit barrel I normally shoot from a bench to 50 yards and I have found that the rifle doesn’t seem to like any subsonic ammunition but I have found that it shoots SK high velocity match well , do you have any idea why this would be so or can you give me any tips to get it to shoot subsonic ammo , thanks in advance Steve from Australia .

    • @PursuitofAccuracy
      @PursuitofAccuracy  3 роки тому +1

      Steve it really just comes down to finding the right lot of ammo that works well in your barrel.
      Hv and subsonic at 50 wont really impact group size but hv at distance will not be as accurate as sub sonic as the bullet will destabilize when it goes transonic.
      Just keep trying different ammo and lots and you will find something that works well

    Josh, Did y'all notice that your buddy's first hit in the 2nd round ( 5:42 of the video) was actually a ricochet hit off the head box, not a direct hit? Granted, he did have a direct hit on his can on his next attempt BUT he was trying to shoot yours so, I'd say that you won the 2nd round since the 1st _"intended"_ direct hit was yours at 7:10 of the video.

      and ok, wasn't sure if you had noticed that since the other ricochet that nicked the top of your can had the little circled edit (7:05) showing the impact on the head box but nothing on that first one.
      Regardless though, that's some good shooting for the range and being .22's...

    My son, 12, plinks at cans at 500. He uses a Lithgow and has prepped ballistic tables for hold. He hits it with his first shot about 80% of the time.

      You may be the first person I block on this channel........🤣🤣
      Youve made 3 rediculous comments about your la101 on 3 different videos.
      1st you could shoot 1/4" groups sr 150
      2nd you could hit eggs first try out to 500 yards
      Now your son has 80% first round impact success at 500 yards on a half moa target.
      If any of these were true, as I said before, you and your rifle, and now your son, would have every current rimfire world record.

    What is the barrel length. I’m looking at the CZ pro varmint I’m wondering if that started off as the same rifle and is the 16 inch barrel too short for long range competition

    Hey I live in NC too and you inspired me to buy a MTR as well, got one from 419. My question is slightly subjective, at what range do you zero your gun at? I have the 30moa base and a great scope (NF) so I have a lot of adjustment, my goal is to have a zero that is good from lets say 20-40 yard and then use the scope to dial in the hits from there out. What distance did you zero your set up at?

    • @PursuitofAccuracy
      @PursuitofAccuracy  3 роки тому

      My zero is set at 50 yards.
      For closer shots i may need to dial .1 to .2 mils down but its never been an issue. At a 50 yard zero 20 mil will get you to 400 or so

    • @wowguy3562
      @wowguy3562 3 роки тому

      @@PursuitofAccuracy I have wondered, I use a 30 moa base too, I figure using a ballistics calculator my zero should be 250 yards to 260 yards without correction using my scope turrets shooting 22lr 40 grain bullets at 1090fps with a bc of G1 145, any thoughts if I am close, alot of my shooting will be 300 yards plus, I just get stumped what the 30 moa base natural zero is, using a cz with an approx 20 inch barrel

    • @PursuitofAccuracy
      @PursuitofAccuracy  3 роки тому

      @@wowguy3562 30 moa is around 9 mils. So i would say much less than 260 yards for the mechanical zero on the scope

    I have a 457 manners as well Non MTR. It appears your action is butter smooth! My action is smooth but throw down as I’m chambering still requires quite a bit of force “often times” moving my rifle off target. Are you running some type of lighting cocking springs or something?! Sorry for the lack of terminology. Newer to the sport.
