Excellent job! In regards to the loft bedroom, I would cut a couple of inches off the legs of the bed so that when you sit on the bed your head doesn't hit the ceiling. Thanks for the video.
Cool! Great job! 👍 If it were me, I’d trim a few inches off the legs of that Ikea bed for head clearance. Could even just slip a piece of cardboard under the leg (to catch sawdust) and do each leg right in place with a fine-toothed hand saw. Wouldn’t even have to hassle with getting it on and off the loft that way. Thanks for video - hope you all are enjoying the place after your hard work.
lol...going to the bathroom in winter time or late at night!!!! Yep you need a porta potty for inside!!! Otherwise, not bad! Ive been thinking of maybe buy two sheds and connect them. Small gets smaller the longer you live there.
I couldn't do a bunkhouse. I spent 21 years in the Army jumping out of Planes and Helicopters and my knees won't let me climb those stairs. We already owned our 8 acres of land here in Northern New Mexico and we live in ours full time, when we built ours we used a known footprint for ours, We took the front half of our 1200 sq feet house, which was 18x26 (468 sq feet) and used the same footprint, what was our 18x18 master bedroom became our "Great Room", our bathroom was and still is 6x8 and what was our 12x8 spare bedroom is now our bedroom. When we first started talking about doing this were looking and looking and looking at sheds, prefabs and all that then one day it hit me so I said down and rough sketch it out on grid paper using 1 square as 1 square feet. once I took out all the closets we had more than enough room. so that's what we built.
Yap, the question should be why 12 V and not 24 or 48. Solar is the only thing I could do up there. I have both 120V (inverter) and 12V in the cabin. Have a great day.
Yap a shorter bed, and the bathroom has to be on a trailer and movable, so we cant connect. Next time I get some off grid property, I will check more about the bathroom rules in the county. Have a great day.
It would be nice to know the know more about the small size appliances brands and where were purchased. So couldn’t you build a vented breezeway or overhead covering to the bathroom.
Wouldnt that "wardrobe" be better suited as a food pantry? Build in some clothing closets up in the loft at each side of the head of the bed floor to ceiling for his & hers.. Like what you see in campers.
@@FearlessRambler TY. We have a concrete slab but want the shed to be higher from the ground by 6" or so. Do you think it's better to use their metal base or add concrete?
Here some ruff estimates, the property was 21K, the shed was around 13K, but prices have gone up. The septic and road was 5K. The frig was $300. The cabinets were around 1.2K. The flooring around $200. The solar was around 2K. The furniture was around $1K. The dry wall and trim about $1K. The time was endless. Hope this helps out.
Is separate do to the County Regulations. Have a land use permit to build, they don't allow any Bathroom in a dwelling under 600 sq ft. My shed home is about 300 sq ft. They do allow two trailers on the property and a bathroom can be in a trailer. That's why it out back. Stupid law, they did have me put in a septic for a three bathroom cabin before I got the land use permit. It works and a full 3/4 bath. Just a little chilly sometime heading to it.
Lol, how to tell they don't want you to actually build. Way overrequire the infrastructure, and try to make it less comfy for the necessities. @@FearlessRambler
Uma escada teria sido boa e ocuparia menos espaço com certeza, mas minha esposa queria escadas para subir para a cama, então ela conseguiu o que queria. Obrigado pelo bom comentário e sugestão. Tenha um ótimo dia.
Thnx for the comment. Look at 08:17 The Tiny House Bathroom and try this vid ua-cam.com/video/VvbEXPeXCFU/v-deo.html Off-Grid Bathroom Build: Starting DIY on an Utility Trailer | Part 1. We have hot water, shower and a flush toilet, everything you might want for glamping. Have a great day.
I agree, this was not a full build, but I hope you found it interesting. But of course the taxes also reflects it not a true cabin. So some good things, Thnx for the comment Have a great day.
Howdy everyone, welcome to this tour of our Bunkhouse.

Thanks for the video.
Great idea!
Super nice. Could always cut your bed shorter for more headroom. Sounds like ya need a RV portable potty for middle of the night 🎉😅
yes, but we use the under the bed for storage.
Grandpa would be proud of that cabin. Well done. It got us talking about using a shed to make a guest room out of.
Yap, build to his heart for sure
I love the little kitchen enough room for a single person or two
Yap, it's a week end glamping bunk house mostly for me and Terri. Have a great day.
7:05 Michael showing off his TV when he has a dinner party at his condo lol
LOL
Awesome little couch

Thnx for your comments and Idea, we are enjoying it and next spring time to build a tool/solar shed. Have a great day.
I like the window, large enough to be called an egress. so many lofts lack this.
We made sure it was big enough for an egress. Something I designed into the shed. A must. Thanks for the comment and have a great day.
Add storage space under the stairs with built ins..maybe even build in drawers in the stairs.
Your cabin is very nice.
Thnx for such a nice comment, joining in and watching. Have a wonderful day.

Appreciate the clever bathroom....

Ready to see the Bunkhouse
Put some totes under the bed for off season storage & accessories. Or build drawers in.
You're insane running DC...

Fantastic work Fearless! Well done!
Thank you kindly!
Going out to that outhouse in the muddle of the night or winter is going to be a bummer! Add a camp or compost toilet inside for those needs!
I enjoyed watching both of your videos😊
Thanks so much 😊
Nice little table
You done a great job on building the bunkhouse
Thnx BAMA. HHave a wonderful day.
Love the loft
Beautiful

Absolutely beautiful. Great job.
Thank you for such a nice comment. Have a great day!!!!
Where did get the couch? I like that
American Furniture Warehouse in Colorado Springs. We had it shipped to Utah. Have a great dsy.
Nice video. I agree that you should cut the legs off that bed. Will the county allow you to connect the house and bathroom with an enclosed walkway?
Yap a shorter bed, and the bathroom has to be on a trailer and movable, so we cant connect. Next time I get some off grid property, I will check more about the bathroom rules in the county. Have a great day.
Thinking they could not protest a temporary hallway out of clear roof panneling...
It looks great
Thnks
Great video Fearless 👍
I would want a bigger tv than that.
Add an electric fireplace heater for ambiance.
Love the red door.... can I paint it black?
The door was only primed white when it was installed, we painted red after the fact. Don't know what Tuff shed color schemes are, Have a great day
Once again great build video. Loved how it turned out i hope you enjoy it for many many years
Anthony just remember it just one little project at a time. Have fun with your property
The looks so awesome!! I loved how it turned out!!

It’s great but no restroom??
Yap the bathroom out back, not in the shed.
I'd like to get links and to know the cost to finish everything
Stove install video?
I would love to do a stove install vid, thanx for a great idea. Wont be able to start till snow melt in April, but I will do one, Have a great day.
Wow, that is pretty awesome. I would probably sit up in the middle of the night and bump my head, but that is minor. That was amazing work!
Yap. Don't stand up or sit up in bed to quickly. Thanx for watching
Where's the bathroom😮
its at the 08:17 The Tiny House Bathroom. It explains why its not in the shed. Thnx for watching, have a great day.
Place a runway. From the bathroom to the house. With a door.
@@Alemaniaturquia Yes great Idea, just hook it up on the side of the cabin. Have a great day.
What do you about a foundation? They have that metal foundation - did you use that or pour concrete? We want to use a Tuffshed as a room addition.
They suggest to use a concrete slab but due to our location in the mountains we did 12" of crushed rock which seems to work great
@@FearlessRambler TY. We have a concrete slab but want the shed to be higher from the ground by 6" or so. Do you think it's better to use their metal base or add concrete?
Nicely done!!!
What size is the downstairs area?
around 200 sq ft and the loft is around 100 sq ft
Ok thanks…sounds like it’s about a 12x16 or 14x14?
12 x 16
Hello great house
Where did you buy the couch?
American Furniture Warehouse in Colorado Springs, CO. It is a national chain. www.afw.com/ Hope this helps out. Have a great day.
This is exactly what Id like to do on my property in Utah. Do you have a rough cost estimate for everything?
Here some ruff estimates, the property was 21K, the shed was around 13K, but prices have gone up. The septic and road was 5K. The frig was $300. The cabinets were around 1.2K. The flooring around $200. The solar was around 2K. The furniture was around $1K. The dry wall and trim about $1K. The time was endless. Hope this helps out.
Hey Fearless Rambler
What was the total finished cost btw? 🤔
The shed with everything in it around 18K, the water, road and septic was another 8K.
@FearlessRambler ahhh ok I see, thanks
May I ask why the cabin is painted black and red? I noticed a lot of people are doing this. Is there a reason for it other than style?
It is really a dark green. The red I think my wife has watched too many HGTV shows on how to decorate. Thnx for the comment and have a great day.
Did I miss the bathroom?
That’s odd having it separate 😮

Nice job! Just do not care for bathroom building. Why on earth would you make the bathroom so far from the front door? Why not add it to the house?
County didnt allow me to put in the bunkhouse, and where I put had the septic ans water.
He talked about why in the video.
Watch the video!
He explained why the bathroom isn’t in the house. It’s because of county regulations
It's not a full house without an inside bathroom/toilet, bummer.
