I am homeless living in my car with my dog since Dec 15th and it's been horrible. We had a home we owned for over 12 years and we had a fire. I then found out our insurance was dropped and I was never notified. I can't find a 2 bedroom apt for under $ 1,500 a month. I been looking at tiny home. I would love to live in one or own one some day
I'm so sorry for what happened to you. Have you thought about living in another country where renting is way cheaper? If you could find a way of working remotly to the US while living in another country you would be so much better financially. Is that a possibility for you?
A lot of shed companies you can pay under $1000 & have them delivered- payments per month are less than rent in many places- if you can get items off Facebook marketplace, garage sales, thrift stores cost can be cut to finish off- land & permitting are the most challenging part- some areas like Arizona & Arkansas have land that is less expensive- you might find an owner that is willing to take payments- just make sure they are a legitimate owner and the land is free and clear of any liens, etc- you will want to find out if home is permitted for your land too- good luck 👍
We have one of the plug-in Envi heaters from EHeat in our bathroom. Because they work on convection and have no fan, they use less energy than a space heater. It comes in hard wired units or the plug in ones.💕
Very nice. Love your downstairs lay out. The kitchen and staircase on the end side is great. Yes, those heaters are 500 W, Or just under. I have 3 tiny homes on my property and I have one of them in each. 5 years now and they are great convection heaters, no moving parts, no noise, And you can just plug it into a 110 outlet. Or they have a hardwired option. Love the tiny house craze too! I'm looking to put another 1 or 2 on my property. Great to find your channel. I'm just South of you all in the NC mountains! Cheers!😃👍☮️🌎
I’ve been dreaming of building a tiny farmhouse, this has given me lots of inspiration. This was a nice blend of Anne life, plus her community & interests. Well done. 👍
@@AnneofAllTrades you’re welcome. Maybe one day I’ll get to show off my homestead to your audience, but it’s not much to look at yet. 🥴 You do inspire me to keep trying though. 🙏
@@AnneofAllTrades I’ll email you a picture of my ghetto chicken coop and you might change that POV. 😂 but thanks for the encouragement. I love you girl. 🤗
Absolutely adorable. The only additional thing I would do if it became my permanent dwelling would be to add a tiny powder room on the main level for guest. However, as a fun guest house this is fantastic.
we've all been following your channel for a while, but we still don't really believe you're "not a tech savvy person", Anne. You're incredibly savvy, you're not fooling anyone :-) Great video as always
Anne, do you really struggle with those things? 😂 I have a problem to use computer and especially printer(!). I push all those buttons as I should, and it doesn't work. I'm losing(I should say after I have lost my temper 🤣) my temper and ask help from my husband, he comes and push the exactly same button and it work perfectly! 🤯 I think I'm just too electric for those machines. I go to woods or shed or just 🔨⛏️🛠️⚒️🖥️🖨️💻.😂😂😂
Awesome transformation! One of my favorite DIY projects (before starting my channel) was transforming a garden shed into a studio office. At the time we had a very small house... with a 2nd kid on the way I knew I was about to lose my office. So my dad and I built a lean-to shed and then I converted my 14x10 garden shed into an office.
That's such a brilliant way to go. I love my office in the barn- all it takes is a need and a little creativity and we can find all kinds of great ways to use space!
Minimalism at it’s finest. I’m so thankful for your help filming this! And I woke up this morning wishing I could hear you play Gravity on the piano downstairs ❤️❤️❤️
Your finished project is around the corner and will be amazing, like everything you touch! Your inspiration visit was so well done! Love how the outdoor space was considered as much as the indoor space.Beautiful!
I have been mulling my own website for my work (vs Etsy). Squarespace is one of the platforms I have been looking at so, thanks! Also, dude who said "one good bowl, a knife, fork, and spoon"...nailed it. I turned myself a birch bowl based on the finds from the Mary Rose. It does everything from soup/stew-y things to stir-fry to pasta to steak to burger and fries. Pizza is kind of awkward. Embrace the one-bowl life!
That is true! Though I couldn’t finish that particular project due to our unexpected move, I am happy to report the new owners did, and that I’m currently working on a new project here.
Would love to know more about her heater, electric or propane, and what brand! It hides so well in this cute house! I have carsiding on my walls and my decor is like hers. I also love the color of her downstairs sofa. I have cats so slipcovers are a must! Thank you for sharing this tour! I love this!
A 500 watt electric heater is pretty small. Here in Canada, we use a minimum of a 750 watt electric heater. On very cold days we use a 1500 watt heater. Great video Anne.
The kitchen is gorgeous! The lowered sink with easy access via absence of a counter lip might just be the answer to my problems👌🏻 Also... can we pause for a sec... is that Eric... from the band Delta Rae??
Yeah, that was my reaction! I was like, "my friend Eric" is a pretty quick drive-by of "my camera guy is a very successful songwriter / musician / producer."
This came up on my recommended and I enjoyed it, perfect length! Watching videos with my partner and she doesn't exactly have the attention span for a 45 minute long video. Question on sizing. Is that 400sqft including the loft? And what are the outside dimensions of the shed?
Haha I would love it if it was, but it’s actually just a section at most stores, you can ask to see the scratch and dent items and negotiate a discount based on the amount of damage.
This looks like a fantastic shed to home conversion. It's gorgeous :) A few questions though (if you don't mind my asking)... Did you first have to get into contact with a land surveyor to see if that land was suitable for setting up a house? And also, how do you get a permit to put something like this up? Who do you contact? Thanks.
If the space, after you put furniture in, is still acoustically reflective (echo-ee) there are companies that make acoustic panels with art on them. You can choose art from a gallery or send your own. Just a few may make a huge difference.
an outdoor table with an umbrella would work for 6-8 months of the year; but a different type of coffee table (one that can be raised) would be beneficial for winter/inclement weather days.
I think the stools that go under the counter are meant to serve that purpose, but I might be tempted to figure out a way to have a fold out table in there too... but @AB above has a great point, here, we can eat outside 9+ months a year.
Why don't people just switch to the automatic wall water heaters? What would be the case for going with the old standard? It seems like they are just overall better and it doesn't seem like they cost all that much more...
I’m not sure if this is a universal experience, but my electric wall heater isn’t powerful /quick enough to create enough hot water for much more than a 3 minute shower. The gas on demand heaters are amazing, but require a gas line, which isn’t even available out here.
I'm looking into investing in a shed conversion similar to this, my question is how much would it be for the plumbing and electric layout that she has in her home? The sheds I'm looking into have layouts very similar and I'd like to know what goes into installing this tiny house on permanent land.
@Anne of All Trades can't believe I'm the first to spot him. Just nonchalantly saying hey here's my famous friend. Let him know I love the band, just had to rewatch the Morning Comes video.

Nice progress. Consider mechanical fasteners for the furniture? Might save time and make furniture more doable?
I prefer to build things that last! Done well, once. The fact that they take longer is less a concern :)
500 W is not a lot in terms of heaters. Most electric freestanding floor heaters run to 1200 W (or 1.2 kW - kilo W) which is a moderate power rating.
