The People's Joker is a 2022 American parody superhero film directed by Vera Drew and written by Drew and Bri LeRose.
The film stars Vera Drew, Lynn Downey, Christian Calloway, Griffin Kramer, Kane Distler, Nathan Faustyn, Phil Braun, David Liebe Hart, Scott Aukerman, Tim Heidecker, Maria Bamford, and Bob Odenkirk
In the absurdist autobiographically-inspired dark comedy, a painfully unfunny aspiring clown (Vera Drew as Joker the Harlequin) grapples with her gender identity while unsuccessfully attempting to join the ranks of Gotham City’s sole comedy program in a world where comedy has been outlawed. Uniting with a ragtag team of rejects and misfits, Joker the Harlequin forms
an illegal anti-comedy troupe that puts her on a collision course with the devious caped crusader controlling the city.

That's the cool thing about independent movies, man - sometimes it's easier to hear 'the voice' in them. Where can we check it out? I just re-watched Franklyn from years ago - it's a strange movie with multiple themes splashed on the canvas. I love it, but a lot of my friends just didn't 'get it'. I keep it in my top 20 (probably closer to 10, because I'm weird like that 😂).
This just ruined the joker for me lol. I do not want to be catered to as a gay person. Why would I want that?

I didn't like Joker 2019. I know for a fact that I won't like this. This feels like a lecture instead of entertainment.
