Hi. It’s such a difficult choice. Balancing not overspending v making use of in future. I’m trading my mini 6. Was going to get Air and now debating whether extra investment in pro for screen, refresh etc… am I just falling for marketing or will I regret it 😂 Life’s dilemmas and all that
I purchased the 11 iPad Pro (traded in my M1 model). Absolutely love it and no regrets. The screen is stunning and the M4chip will keep me happy for years. I’m not a heavy or pro user but it’s my ‘only computer’ so I simply wanted the best I can get…so I did 👍🏻
Hello! What are the main reasons that made you consider moving from the Mini to the Air or Pro? I’m actually considering the opposite because my Air 4 doesn’t get as much use as I would have liked. When I’m on the go I rather use my phone, then when I’m home or in the office I’m using my MacBook. I’m thinking the Mini will be more wieldy on the go or on the bed/couch which will encourage me to use it more.
Yes, it's good but I think it will really depend on personal preference and what you are used to. It may be worth getting a larger display if you prefer bigger screen real estate over performance.
I have the 13 inch Pro and I’m really struggling about whether to go down to the 11 Pro or not. I run a business and do creative work. I typically hand write notes on the iPad Mini but want to use the Pro for that. 13 inch just feels too big for handwriting and admin purposes. What do you think?
Hey Alex, sorry about the delay in responding! I reckon the M2 iPad Pro would be perfect for that use case (that's what I still use sometimes) or the 11" M4 iPad Pro of course, but only if you have the budget and don't want to upgrade for a while.
My budget is tight so should I buy 11 inch ipad pro m4 or 13 inch ipad air for digital art and animation and vfx stuff . Which iPad should I buy ?? Does 11 inch ipad pro feels small for digital art and animation pls reply on the ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hear you! I would say the best for this would be the M1 iPad Pro then. Amazing display and performance. The only downside will be battery as it’s now 3+ years old, but if not that, the M2 iPad Pro is a good choice too. 11” is not too bad for digital art, but of course the bigger display will be better. Hope this helps
@@AlexGTech but here in India it is impossible to get it because apple refurbished stores are not here officially and I don't trust local stores. I would say try one in store before purchasing it if you can, because it's small. I have the M2 iPad Pro in 11" and really enjoy it but I only use it for basic things like notes, content and 'some' photo editing
Hi. Is there any differences in watching movie experience (for example on netflix) between the ipad air M2 and the ipad pro M4, in terms of their displays?
yes, but only really that noticeable if you put them side by side. I personally noticed the 60Hz display straight away, but in context, I am looking at OLED displays all day long...
Thank you! I used one from Adobe Stock, but I will try and create my own soon. If you ping me a DM on Instagram (alexgtech) I can let you 'borrow' it ;-)
As someone who loves iPad over an iPhone. My pick this time around has changed a tad bit. iPad Pro 11 inch: If I can get a great deal. iPad Air (new one) mainly for software, longevity, and bigger, and that Apple Pencil Pro ( benefits with its total price)
It’s gotten worse… 😢 I managed to fix mine for a few days by clearing the cache but looks like the update made no difference… Getting about 4.5 hours SOT and not even that busy…
Hey Alex! Do you think it’s worth switching from the 10.5inch iPad Pro to the M2 Air? I use the iPad as a supplementary device so I don’t think it’s worth upgrading to the new pro, but I’m wondering if getting the new Air will have any benefits (aside from being able to spend more money on the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil pro lol)
If the current Pro you have is a M chip, I’d say you’d be going backwards but if it’s the older model, then the Air would be a nice upgrade, thinner, etc. but the downside as you said, the accessories are not cheap! Another consideration is the M2 iPad Pro, which should have come down in price by now in some stores
As far as I can see, the price between the 2022 iPad Pro 13" and the 2024 one is only £100, with the same amount of storage. It's not worth going for the older model.
You're right, in that scenario it wouldn't make much sense, not between the Pros. But between the new Air and the older Pro, I think some people might benefit from the better display on the older Pro.
Thanks Chris! Yeah I agree, I think I mentioned the M1 iPad Pro, if you can get a decent condition one, that thing is still a beast for most workflows!
I’ve got the M2 12.9in iPad. And it’s more than enough for me. There have been times when, for my use case (nomad contractor/architect), I wish I had bought the 11in iPad as the big one is heavy and cumbersome. For the other times I’m on my desk, I’m extremely happy having the extra realstate screen. Moreover I have the Luna adaptor which functions as a second touchscreen whenever I need to communicate with clients over the web (I’ve also tried duet) which is really helpful. Honestly, this new generation, either you are upgrading big time (2 3 generations) or you don’t really need to. I was actually OK with my 2'nd generation iPad Pro 11. But it will age out of software at iOS 18. I use it more than any other device except maybe my watch (I wear one 24/7), so I needed a new one. After using both the ipad air m1 and ipad pro m2 I simply see myself buying the ipad air m2 as an architect I would only use it for reading blueprints on site or meetings with clients, field reports using numbers, pages or keynote and media consumption 😁😁
Yup! I totally get that. In 2021 I bought myself the iPad Pro with 16GB of RAM as my personal device, and it ended up collecting dust most of the time. Such a shame really as it’s a superb piece of hardware!
@@AlexGTech Yes, it was too much for myself too and I mean, in the end i'm going to get the air m2 and teach myself some stuff like dedicated drawings in procreate, indesign and AR
Don’t be sorry, it’s ok to have your own opinion. I wanted to reserve judgement until I saw and tried one myself and I can now say that my suspicions were right. But that is from my own perspective. Yes the nano texture is smooth like I said in the video, but I still prefer the feel of a matte protector, whether Paperlike or any other, that is just my preference for writing/drawing. Maybe e I will do a (non-sponsored) video about the different displays and protectors out there 🤔
Having the Paperlike sponsorship should have stopped you from discussing the nano-texture. I’ve watched multiple artist videos and 6 out of the 7 highly recommended the nano-texture glass despite several also being sponsored by paperlike. So many UA-camrs sell their integrity to the highest bidder.
Hi there, you’re welcome to your opinion, no worries. I shared mine here and I decide what I should or shouldn’t do, respectfully. People who know me know that I have no interest in advertising stuff for the sake of it. If you see it on this channel it’s because I used it and would recommend it. Like you, I’ve also seen and know artists who are reviewing the nano texture and the one artists I trust the most (he has two, 1M+ sized channels) confirmed what I also thought, that the nano texture did nothing for him. I reserved judgement until I saw it in person, and what I saw is a very smooth surface that gives you a bit of feedback, but still a very slippery screen for drawing. That artist recommended several matte protectors, not just Paperlike, but I also saw a couple of other artists saying they like the nano texture. But when I looked deeper… One never showed the difference between them and the other said it was not so much the pencil but how the hand glided better on the nano-texture. Something you can achieve on a standard iPad with an artist glove. It’s my opinion, you don’t have to agree with it 😉
@@AlexGTech I do disagree and gave you my reason why. It’s not a new concept that financial incentives can influence opinions. Maintaining profitable relationships with sponsors is clearly the holy grail in tech UA-cam today. It’s so pervasive in social media “reviewer” has been replaced with “influencer”. If you’re talking about Brad G, he was the one out of 7.
But which one is best for watching porn 😮😮😮..I actually watched your video on my Samsung ULTRA 9 ... best screen/ aspect available without going to a 16 " ( thinking of porn again) device ..😅😅 ..

It’s my opinion, you don’t have to agree with it 😉
@@AlexGTech who was the artist?
@@AlexGTech I do disagree and gave you my reason why. It’s not a new concept that financial incentives can influence opinions. Maintaining profitable relationships with sponsors is clearly the holy grail in tech UA-cam today. It’s so pervasive in social media “reviewer” has been replaced with “influencer”. If you’re talking about Brad G, he was the one out of 7.
Check out Brad Colbow, awesome channel (he has two)
But which one is best for watching porn 😮😮😮..I actually watched your video on my Samsung ULTRA 9 ... best screen/ aspect available without
going to a 16 " ( thinking of porn again) device ..😅😅
..
Haven't tried the Vision p**n yet, I mean Vision Pro yet. I hear that will be good for entertainment, and will free your hands for better multitasking 👀 But if you are after a handheld device, then the iPad Mini will be a good one (so I hear)
