Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs) are a group of conditions that can occur in a person whose mother drank alcohol during pregnancy.Symptoms can include an abnormal appearance, short height, low body weight, small head size, poor coordination, low intelligence, behavior problems, learning difficulties and problems with hearing or sight. Those affected are more likely to have trouble in school, legal problems, participate in high-risk activities and have problems with alcohol or other drugs.[8] The most severe form of the condition is known as fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS).Other types include partial fetal alcohol syndrome (pFAS), alcohol-related neurodevelopmental disorder (ARND) and alcohol-related birth defects (ARBD). Some accept only FAS as a diagnosis, seeing the evidence as inconclusive with respect to other types.[10]Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders are caused by a mother drinking alcohol during pregnancy.Surveys from the United States found that about 10% of pregnant women drank alcohol in the past month, and 20% to 30% drank at some point during the pregnancy.About 3.6% of pregnant American women are alcoholics. The risk of FASD depends on the amount consumed and the frequency of consumption as well as at what point in pregnancy the alcohol was consumed. Other risk factors include older age of the mother, smoking, and poor diet. There is no known safe amount or time to drink alcohol during pregnancy. While drinking small amounts does not cause abnormalities in the face, it may cause behavioral issues.[12] Alcohol crosses the blood-brain barrier and both directly and indirectly affects a developing fetus. Diagnosis is based on the signs and symptoms in the person.

Here after seeing multiple people say Chrisean Rock’s baby looks like he may have FAS. When this video described what a child may look like (Who People from Whoville in my opinion) I said to myself, “But that’s how her and all of her siblings look.. Like cute little Who People”. 🤔 But THEN it hit me that her mother was / is an addict and now I wonder if alcohol also played a role in her mother’s addiction…

I was misdiagnosed my entire life with autism, adhd/add, Asperger's, etc and just recently I discovered from my birth hospital paper work that I may just have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or a derivative, as it was listed as a/the cause of my premature birth. To finally have the symptoms I have suffered with for over 30 years FINALLY identified, I can NOW seek proper assistance.

@@MedicalCentric it was moreso challenging when everybody was trying to make me "normal", the fact is that you have to just accept that's the way it is, that's the hand you're dealt and you just have to play your cards accordingly the best you can. Also, if you practice and stay the course eventually you'll succeed. The hardest part was not knowing what the hell I had to the point of breakdown/self hatred and then eventually, true actual self-discovery. Basically, I had to find the truth within myself first before I could even think about finding the truth from other people, mainly the experts who misdiagnosed me in the first place, when the answer was clear, or at least it was on paper, which everyone misread or disregarded, even family. Yet they never said life wouldn't be hard!

On top of misdiagnosed ADHD/Asperger's-like symptoms, I have a terrible time with math, to the point where college seems impossible. I would like to know how to help myself at this point, but Google searches aren't giving me much information on whether pursuing this would be helpful or worth it.

Well applause for you! Yippee skippee the words "you're pregnant" is NOT the magical cure for an addicted woman, therefore, it is up to her to get help yes but just because you can 'not even have a cigarrette" doesn't mean that a heroin addict can simply stop using, in fact Dr's do not recommend a woman stop using if she finds out she is pregnant as she will go through withdrawl as will the baby which could lead to a miscarriage instead they prefer using subtext or methadone throughout the rest of the pregnancy, but I'm so very glad you are able to not even have a cigarette did you also put down coffee, tea, and soda? Did you excesise 3times a week and get 8 hiurs of sleep a night? Did you breastfeed? Be Use i dont understand why any woman would want to gi e their child somilac and thats a woman choosing to give her child synthetic breast milk , you are not better than the woman that is addicted because you can simply stop smoking obviously you were not severely addicted Bottom line, if you don't see how a woman can do that then go to a rehab for pregnant mothers and meet some of the women then make you holier than thou comments

@@eskaban_edits Yep He very much is. Religion became a thing when people wanted to instead worship demons posing as gods or make up whatever story suits their agenda. It's gotten to the point where it can be hard to tell which religion is serving the real God and has the corresponding morals and beliefs that are both unbiased and work in society.
So far orthodox christianity, though the bible has mistranslations and church leaders took out much of the original book in the past, is still probably the most consistent and moral you can get in my opinion. Despite attempting to make the translated Torah fit their agenda, people can still read for themselves and see much of the hypocrisy in nearly every church.
Islam is pretty similar but 1 of the key beliefs is that Jesus was only a prophet and nobody actually special and that He didn't resurrect Himself. This is false given historical records.
Edit: Technically you can say Christ was a prophet though because He prophesied and preached to people about the future. That's the 1 thing Islam got right about Jesus.

I worked many years with kids, an or parents. And sometimes the mom doesn't know she is pregnant right away. Or is in a abusive relationship, an thats her way of coping till she gets help. Or was raped, an she is dealing with depression, or one of many other situations. Any way alls I'm saying is sometimes someone needs help, not judged.
      Take care❤

Sadly enough ... Roman empire's success as developping quality food and alcool probly brought its share of fetal alcoholism syndrom then ... with the primitive understanding of antique Rome, the idea is somehow troubling ... 🫤

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is a modern medical term that wasn't recognized in the ancient Roman era, and it's crucial to acknowledge that our understanding of the syndrome has evolved over time. While the Romans did have access to alcoholic beverages, the concept of FAS and its associated risks due to maternal alcohol consumption during pregnancy only became clear in recent years. Today, the focus is on educating individuals about the dangers of alcohol during pregnancy to protect the health and development of both the mother and the child, emphasizing modern knowledge and awareness.
