I highly recommend them all. Together they give you enough to do that you'll never run out. Mods that are moderate additions or reworks: Bengan's Swedish Islands Map, Itarevamp, Horn of Africa, Northern Ireland Rebuilding, Project E6, Macedonia Rework. I recommend them all, but I'm not sure how the Macedonia Rework devs are going to handle West Balkans when the DLC releases. As I said above, Project E6 is discontinued other than version updates, and will be added into ProMods in the future. But it's staying updated each patch to prevent it from breaking while we wait. Mods that only touch one city or a small region: Paris Rebuild, Peyrat-le-Château, Bourges Updated, Santiago de Compostela añadido. Of these I use them all, but have differing opinions. Santiago is really good in some areas but has a few areas that are strangely low-poly. Peyrat-le-Château and Bourges are very good but they're still small cities. Paris Rebuild is phenomeal and I highly recommend it, though having a mod for only one city is a bit of an ask, I know. London Enhanced seems to be excellent as well but I haven't personally tried it yet.

@@ZillaBlitzPC Glad to hear it! It'll be exciting for sure. I forgot in that list to include the SRmap English City Names mod. Hopefully the Universal Fix & Localization mod will soon be updated to include it but right now it doesn't. Place that one above the main SRmap mod in the order. Also the fullscreen world map mod will not be able to be found on Trucky moving forward, so that one will be another (check the GMC Global Combo for the link) situation once 1.48.5 and 1.49 are out. I would FULLY support adding Maghreb Map as well once the road connection to Road to Africa is done. It's not as large as some of the other mods but it does add a good amount of cities and the design is really well done. Naturally I'll test it out first and report back haha.

I'm from Reykjavík. The town you first went to is Seyðisfjörður [ SAY-this-fyuh-rthur] That town is very beautiful, I have fond memories camping there as a kid. The second one was Reyðarfjörður [Ray-thar-fyuh-rthur].

0:35, there is a hidden road if you continue driving straight ahead right past that recruitment agency, you can actually go through the centre of the town. That one is the only one i was able to find myself. I like you Mike, you're the coolest american i know, always smiling and so relaxed and with big heart. I believe you're a good man. We're sharing the same passion for games, ets 2 specifically here. I also admire your kindness replying to each comment. Btw I think that it's the ice and snow on the road causing that loss of control over the truck, it gets back to normal once you hit asphalt again. Keep up all the great work.

I'm just sorry you can't see more of Europe from the game since you've never been there. I really believe that the people developing this should be a lot further along in the game, after all it's been over a decade since the game has been out. I stopped playing sometime in 2018, then in 6 whole years you come back only to see that the city centres look authentic but still not 100%, I think they really take too long. As far as I know they are from the Czech Republic just like me. Anyway, you look at games with a healthy attitude, for fun, and you're not one of those addicts who won't move away from them, I like that too
Finally the promised land of Iceland! Looks great and not too surprised in regards to the overall lack of contracts as Most would likely be import ones irl. Yeah those freight market jobs have a very strict time limit and not much leeway for driving around so easy to be late and ideally you sleep just before taking a job as you found sleeping during can cost you. Fun drive as always mate, happy truckin'.

I have a feeling it's going to take me a while to get in the habit of checking the delivery time. I need a pre-drive checklist: - Lights? - Sleep? - Delivery time? - Microphone on? - Recording button pressed?
The trailers for the headers are slim and long you in the discount bit of the store you see might see a pickup and seeder in the same area the discounted things are mixed up together I will be looking forward to it
You were carrying empty pallets vs a truck with full on logs! It was no comparison! ;-) You took 7 hours 21 minutes, which was over the time, and they added a punitive penalty of over 10 hours? So I'm GLAD you got the speeding ticket as that clearly made it a bad run vs losing it this way. I was thinking the math wasn't adding up when you said you were going to sleep...so yeah, get out your calculator before sleeping. ;-p
Yeah, I'm really not used to the freight contracts that are tied to game time. I'll want to pay more attention to them going forward. Upgrading the truck will help too. Hard to be on time when you go 3 kph uphill. :)
The reason that there is snow is that it easier to paint snow on the ground than model 3,000,000 sheep wondering around the countryside. You don't want to run over a sheep! Bad idea, very bad idea!
Maybe all the back.& forth looking for the load at the start wasted a lot of game time. A bit of a bizarre one. I've noticed with pro-mods that you don't always get the green pick up/delivery icons and instead you just go straight to the trailer location/parking location. It can be confusing. Love pro-mods but it does have occasional glitches that I've not seen on base game
I think the route red line ran out at the starting edge of the company pick up spot, but the pick up spot was around the corner farther down, and at night I just didn't see it. But yeah, that extra 3 hours of driving around made it so I had to sleep on the delivery which mess up the whole thing. Oh, well, my radar is on now for the time constraints, hopefully I can do better in the future. :)
@@ZillaBlitzPC yeah I think the premature ending of the red line and lack of the green icon made it hard to spot the trailer, especially in the dark. The slow speeds on the uphill sections won't have helped either. Beefed up engine & gearbox definitely a priority, just ask Jana K and Ahmed...
@@ZillaBlitzPC here is the thing with secret roads. they do not appear on the map until you start driving on them. in fact here is on for american truck simulator in Wyoming: Go to Idaho Falls, Idaho and head east along 26 an cross into Wyoming. when it gives the option to turn right and cross a bridge do so. This is actually a small town known as Alpine, Wyoming. go through the town and the road will become dirt. SECRET ROAD FOUND! it is actually Gray's River Road which goes through Triple divide pass. from here water goes in three different directions. 1 to the Colorado River and out into the gulf of california. 2 The snake River and the Columbia river. 3 THE GREAT BASIN!

I know, right, I think they were tailing me and I just didn't spot them. And I was just a smidge over the limit, too. I'm not 100% how the timing works on the freight deliveries, like is it a certain amount of time to make the delivery from when the job is posted or from when you accept it? If it's from when it's posted, then it certainly messed us up. And even if it's from the time you accept the job, burning 3 hours of energy meant we needed to sleep, so that really sent the effort sideways. I will be work to be better in the future. :)

@@ZillaBlitzPC and very late delivery. I think you should pay close attention to the ETA of the delivery, 'cause some clients are particular about delivery times. From what SCS have been showing now, its only Kansas for now. Quite a few (me included) are exited for the DLC, due to the fact that Kansas is home for some well-known automotive UA-camrs, like #TheCarWizard.
Yeah, I'm not used to doing the Freight Market contracts. Probably a good idea to sleep ahead of time too. In this case, we only had the one contract option, but I really should pay attention to how much time they are giving us, especially with a truck that doesn't have a lot of power on challenging roads. :)

Most jobs that are around 7 hours or less in expected time don't really give you time to sleep I've found. So you've got to make sure you rest first if you're going to be doing a shorter drive.
Yes, I am learning the hard way with these. I think 95% of my previous jobs have been External Contracts, where this isn't an issue. Might have to try for some of those urgent delivery achievements now. :)
I think, in the competition, California is kinda at a disadvantage since it was the first state and is currently undergoing a big rework behind the scenes. It might be a long time before it's done but you'll have to do another competition once it finally is sometime in the future. Oklahoma... I was afraid it would be incredibly boring, and the highways are, but there are some fun hidden roads and off the beaten path things in it.
I totally agree on both points. Shiny and new has an advantage as well, and I was pleasantly surprised with what they did with Oklahoma. That is a fun state. :)

Iceland is a volcanic country since you saw those thermals, and rough mountainous terrain formed by volcanoes.
Yes, I've long wanted to visit there, and it's fun that the mod includes some areas like that. :)

From what SCS have been showing now, its only Kansas for now. Quite a few (me included) are exited for the DLC, due to the fact that Kansas is home for some well-known automotive UA-camrs, like #TheCarWizard.
Yeah, I'm not used to doing the Freight Market contracts. Probably a good idea to sleep ahead of time too. In this case, we only had the one contract option, but I really should pay attention to how much time they are giving us, especially with a truck that doesn't have a lot of power on challenging roads. :)

Most jobs that are around 7 hours or less in expected time don't really give you time to sleep I've found. So you've got to make sure you rest first if you're going to be doing a shorter drive.
Yes, I am learning the hard way with these. I think 95% of my previous jobs have been External Contracts, where this isn't an issue. Might have to try for some of those urgent delivery achievements now. :)
I think, in the competition, California is kinda at a disadvantage since it was the first state and is currently undergoing a big rework behind the scenes. It might be a long time before it's done but you'll have to do another competition once it finally is sometime in the future. Oklahoma... I was afraid it would be incredibly boring, and the highways are, but there are some fun hidden roads and off the beaten path things in it.
I totally agree on both points. Shiny and new has an advantage as well, and I was pleasantly surprised with what they did with Oklahoma. That is a fun state. :)
