Hey do you think you can help me, my Nintendo right joycon just suddenly stopped working while I was playing a game. The sync button isnt working and the LEDs arent even showing up. It isn't working both handheld nor attached to the Nintendo😪. I have a bit of experience with fixing devices myself, but I have never seen something like. Please give me some advice on what to do if you can. I would suspect it's the either something to do with the rail or the battery in the joycon is spoilt. Thank You so much if you can help. I cant buy a new one as it's still a lockdown by me.

Well you literally read my mind as I was watching. I'm more curious to know if they locked the hardware like apple does with phones these days. Or if you really can just add the parts needed, and Frankenstein a Disc version from a digital version. Because lets face it in a few years, you know you're gonna buy a box of parts here, a box of parts there, and hey presto you made a working console from an amalgamation of spares.
If they do lock it (which it likely is) I wouldn't be suprised whatsoever. The ps3 and 360s drives were locked, same with the launch ps4s and all xbox ones/series x consoles.
I've taken apart a couple of Dualsense controllers and I've noticed that there are two different types. One type has orange analoge sticks the other has blue ones. One hast Blue ribbon cables for the triggers and the other hase green ones. One has a touchpad with a very fine pattern, the other one has a square pattern. But the rest is identical
So basically they save on the components while telling you that this is a better setup. Always cool when you take us on a ride along witnessing "the if it isn't broken when I get it, I will keep fixin' it till it is"! Congratulations on a successful teardown and reassembly!!
Can you please make another video about how to clean the ps5 disc version and like the stages to clean them and what to remember when cleaning them like how to take it appart and be aware of the screws and cable. As I’m too sacred to take my apart also can you discuss how often to clean to take it apart, and show what’s the best tool and vacuum to use to get in the spots,
Nice one again, was no surprise that they are all the same but the ribbon connection but still nice to see 👍🏻 hope you will be able to get some broken consoles soon
I bet it is just about connection and firmware. You will maybe have to switch the bios if you would try to add dvd drive. But who knows maybe the firmware is the same to make updates easier
Hello, I have a question, I live in a tropical country where currently temperatures reach up to 36 ° + in the day, I have noticed that my PS5 Standard heats up to the point of burning when touched ... but the fan always rotates at the same speed (It may be cold or burning, the fan always rotates at the same speed), that's normal ?, is there a way to raise the fan RPM ? Sony really forgets that there are also countries with extremely hot climates :(
How long is the average life of liquid metal before it is better to replace it? ...And yes, I definitely WANT to see you try to install the bluray drive in the all digital mobo, and I'd also like to know if to turn the disc model mobo into an all digital one, you can just remove the optical drive.
@@windowsxpprofessional Do you mean in terms of heat dissipation or long-term durability? Because I know it dissipates better, but I have no idea how long it lasts.
@@LucaBlightOfHighland I am also not too sure though I am sure that it lasts longer than a normal thermal paste or a pad. Heat absorption and spreading should be better as metals are a great conductors of heat
Questions, PLEASE help! if I separate the motherboard from the heatsink, do I need to clean off the liquid metal and apply a new batch? Or can I just use that liquid metal and still have it be good? Never worked with LM before :( and for the 43 screws, are they all the same screws?? Thanks!! 😄
1:13 could you cut a bit of the shield off to expose the ribbon cable to make it accessible? Or some kind of extension to make the connector accessible so you could clean out the heatsink?
Firstly, yes I want to see you add a disc drive, wonder if the drivers are already in in the software...hmmm.... Secondly, can you cut the area thats covering the ribbon for easy access and as you said clean it without removing all those screws?
Actually apart from color differences, there are components missing on the front side in the area of the missing connectors. So it's unlikely going to work unless you move those components as well.
Hunt around on known modding forums for a flashing tool for the drive and then see if there is a way to modify the drive to work or even a universal patch to allow the new drive to work.. chances are it's a little too soon to say but you never know in the right circles.
i think before you try add a disc to the non disc version try swapping the ps5 disc drive with another one and see if it boots. if that works then we could be into something interesting. Especially for example someone figured out how to buy a cheap drive and it worked in a PS5 and you just add the headers to the digital version and add it in.
If both boards had the same version number why was the colour green different? I wonder in the other disc versions had different shades of green as well?
Could you please clarify the model numbers of both digital and non-digitals? I have PS5 CFI-1016B, and it indicates that the supported voltage is 220-240. So I'm trying to understand if it has the same Power Supply unit. Thank you
I was thinking I bet you'll try a disk drive on a digital before you said it in the video. Can't wait to see the result. If it doesn't work I bet it's simply a firmware setting set to "Off" from factory.
Its a shame they didn't make a separate removable shield just for that connector. Is it possible to remove the whole motherboard assembly and the front panel of the PS5 with the connector still attached to get access to the PSU, or are there other screws under the shield?
im facing a problem with unplugging the rebon cable after the metal piece is removed ? and it looks like it dosent have a saftey? do you kkow how i can get it removed?
I'm now wondering what drives the PS5 will accept and whether or not a custom port could be created to connect an external disc drive for the occasions you might need one but you get to keep the aesthetics of the digital version.
Great one :) But is there anyone that can answer me ? Is there any chance that liquid metal just come out of that spong thing and destroy the console and motherboard ?
I was just thinking that I’d want you to put a disk drive in it. You make everything look simple and from what I got it’s the connectors and obviously a disk drive but that would be so awesome
Even if sony said otherwise. I believe sitting the PS5 horizontal is better because the liquid metal is evenly distributed. Vertically, it flows to the bottom part of the chip only, if there is not enough liquid metal to fill the space between the chip and the sink exactly.
I had sent mine in for repair, my digital ps5 would hard crash when playing ps5 apps anywhere from 5 minutes to 45 minutes. Afterwards the controller nor power button would turn it on, I’d have to unplug it just to force it back on which would force a system repair. It only happened with ps5 apps and I could play ps4 games with no issue. Do you know what that problem could have been?

$100 for a disc drive with two connectors. They should’ve just made the disc drive a modular accessory you could buy and add on as an option
Agreed. I'd love to know if putting in the ribbon cables and connectors in the Digital Ps5 worked. Would be awesome if it does work.
