First No-Hitter in the 2021 season and the first ever No-Hitter in San Diego Padres history in 53 seasons in the MLB goes to Joe Musgrove, who’s from San Diego,California and History is made on April 9th,2021 and it took 8,205 games in Padres History
I am proud to say that I watched this game live and see this amazing moment. Can't name anybody better that deserves this more than Joe Musgrove. Congrats I am so happy for him.
@N F Imagine as a little kid watching them come close to throwing no hitters and then when you get to the bigs you throw their first no hitter in franchise history
watched this from start to finish, called my grandpa, a fan since they were created, he watched it all the way and hearing the pure happiness in his voice made this No-No that much better
I really wish my grandpa got to witness this moment. He had been a padres fan his whole life and watched this team from when they first started in the mlb and he would’ve loved to see how much this team has changed.
Padres looks solid this year so far. As a foreigner I stayed a full year in SD in year 2013 and SD was such a lovely city: weather, culture, view, activity, people, safety. One thing that was only missing was a strong athletic team, but this year you seem to be achieving that too to make a perfect city. I root so much for SD, and Padres. Congrats!
Wow being a San Diego Padres fan and living in San Diego my whole life and seeing the home grown kid from El Cajon and me living in La mesa getting the no hitter is probably the greatest thing I've seen with these eyes. I will always cherish this moment. Thanks Joe Musgrove 👍
@@juniorlopez2767 No hitters don’t tend to happen to “good” teams tho lmaoo. Good teams are bound to have 1 hit. For example, No one will be able to shut out the dodgers

Congrats to Joe, the Padres and Padres fans. Toronto Blue jay fan here who drafted Joe first back in 2011. I wish they kept him, but so happy for him as a fan.
Everybody loved Joe when he was with my Pirates. He did much work voluntarily in the community. Couldn't happen to a better guy. Only thing better would be to do it in San Diego.
Looks like MLB is back and hasn't skipped a beat. This is a HUGE moment. San Diego homegrown talent pitching a 'no-no'. I'm a life-long Dodgers fan but came over to say that whenever I see anyone representing local talent playing for the local team. I'll always tip my hat in deepest respect and appreciation. If you don't have goosebumps after watching this, you're either not a baseball fan or a hater that isn't 'all things about your own team' (thus the term fan = fanatic). If you haven't been, there's something very special about the County of San Diego (from North all the way to the South) it's wonderfully magical and reflects on the residents who live there. Wishing the best for Joe in 2021
As a Pirates fan, I couldn't be any happier for this man. He deserved this after all the down years he suffered in Pittsburgh. Congrats to the Padres fans as well. You got a good one
How could anyone not like this.? What a special moment for Joe Musgrove , Victor Caratini and the Padres! Victor Caratini caught the no-hitter by Alec Mills last year as a Cub in Milwaukee and now he’s behind the plate in Arlington catching Padres history !
I am almost 40 and shed a tear during this. I have lived through so many heartbreaking sports moments and this was the pinnacle of happiness. I went to Grossmont and this could not be any more fitting.
I'm a Cubbies fan since '72, but I can get behind ANY pitcher throwing a no-no. Congratulations to Joe and the Padres! Also: what was the focal length on the camera that took close-ups of Musgrove and also the right field foul line bleachers? That was amazing!
@@RYMAN1321 Carlos Beltran made contact with a ball that hit the foul line the umpires called it a foul ball and replay wasn't available to challenge it so the no hitter stood
Ever since the Red Sox were revealed to be cheaters, I've been looking for a new team to follow. Last year the Padres made a damn good case when they hit a grand slam in four straight games, so I decided to go with them. Looks like I made the right choice.
Fun fact: the closest the Padres were to a no-hitter before this was in 2014 when Odrisamer Despaigne went 8 innings against the Mets. I remember that game vividly and to witness this 7 years later is even better. I’m so happy to be a Padres fan right now.
Finally.. it’s so nice to be part of a good team that can, and will compete again! Congratulations and Respect to Musgrove for coming back home and giving us a taste of greatness. #readytocompete
Admittedly, I didn't even know that this was happening, until I browsed Facebook and some in the "Growing Up In San Diego" page posted it. Curiosity set in, so I would look it up on ESPN. Sure enough, it was true. Being more curious, I decided to watch the abridged version of the game, and when the final out came, which was followed by his Padres teammates jumping for joy and congratulating him, all I could think about is the late Jerry Coleman shouting: OOOOOOh DOCTOR!!! YOU CAN HANG A STAR ON THAT, BABY!!!
The Expos de Montréal, who started the same year as the Padres, had one very early with Bill Stoneman in Philadelphia. Then many years later, Dennis Martinez pitched a perfect game in Los Angeles. It's always a beautiful thing to see the crowd get behind an opposing pitcher under great occasions
So happy fans were in attendance. These are the memories fathers and sons have forever. One kid will remember this night for the rest of his life!
