"every no hitter has at least 2-3 outstanding defensive plays that kept it going" -cant remember... had a baseball highlight VHS tape as a kid and that line stuck with me as a middle infielder... gotta dig that tape up
I miss Tony Gwynn. One of my favorite players when I was a kid. I'm a Red Sox fan but I think a lot of baseball fans across the country appreciated Tony Gwynn.
Always impressive to see a no-hitter but it really is a total team effort. There were some beauty defensive plays out there to make it happen. Congrats Padres, from a Jays fan.
First No-Hitter in The History of the San Diego Padres and it took 8,205 games in 53 seasons since 1969,their first season as a MLB franchise and the Drought is over.Congratulations to Joe Musgrove for Complete the no-hitter and He’s from San Diego,California who came to the Padres during the offseason after playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates
Pitching was phenomenal but what's also impressive is they did it with 6 players.. only involved Myers, Kim, Cronenworth, Profar, Caratini, and Joe himself. Congrats from a Dodgers fan. This Padres team is really fun to watch, with or without Tatis.
I always remember what great gestures & donations he made to people after Hurricane Harvey, like the cleats he got evacuated kids to sign - just a great person all round * congrats Joe
No matter who gets a no hitter I'm always so happy for them, even if its against my team. But this was soooo sweet when a home town guy did it! This is way cool. Thanks. 🙌⚾⚾🙌⚾⚾🙌
Same. Now if Padres fans can give the Dodgers the same respect when it comes to the LEGIT 2020 Championship team. No other team in the history of baseball had to won more games to win a title.
Congrats from a Giants fan.. all around effort, great pitching, great defense, great coaching putting the defense in shifts at the right times for the right batter, and good fortune because the Rangers hit the ball on the screws several times but right at people..

I was there and I was definitely cheering. You don’t see a no-hitter in person everyday. It made it even better that the Rangers won the World Series two years later
I am so happy for this monumental accomplishment. Congrats Joey Musgrove!! I appreciate your hard work and love that you’ve given this game! You have a bright future ahead of you!!
Holy cow Joe was dealing. But may I say that finally San Diego has a team to match the great play by play team in Don Orcello and "Mud: Mark Grant. Joe you killed it man,... Now lets get that ring!!!
Congratulations Joe Musgrove! Local San Diegan gets first no no?! Couldnt ask for a better script! Can we play the Rangers every game?! Special things happen against this team. First slam Diego, now this!!!!
The Padres have had 23 near no-hit games in their history. I almost saw one in 2004 with Adam Eaton against the Royals. The hype started building around the 5th inning and they finally got a hit in the 7th. So happy for Joe and my SD Padres!
chills every time... i don't know if this is better or Daniel Camarena Grand slam? we will see another no hitter in our time hopefully, but we will never see a relief pitcher hit a grand slam off a future hall of famer ever again,
I was a Dogers fan due to Hyun Jin Ryu but I am a Padres fan from today due to Kim. Congrats Joe and so proud that Kim contributed to create a portion of the Padres history. From S. Korea.
When a no hitter is in reach every player on the field feels that tension. The need to remain hyper focused, not wanting to be the one to make a mistake. A total team effort in order to get it done.
I listened to that game in 1969, in which Clay Kirby got pulled, my mom and dad passed on before they could experience glorious moment, thank God I lived long enough to finally see a Padres no-hitter. Hallelujah.
Very reminiscent of Johan Santana’s no-hitter for the Mets. Just a night that you’ll never forget where you were. The first. Congratulations, in all seriousness. - a Mets fan
No-hitters are exciting no matter if it's your team or another team. And Joe deserves the praise for his command as starting pitcher, and it's extra fun that he's a SD county boy. It's good to hear him give Vic his credit too... couldn't have been a no-hitter without the help of the rest of the defense along the way. No-hitters are just as much of team feats as they are pitcher feats. Well done, Padres. It's scary that he's not even their best pitcher, too... Yu, Snell, Clev (next year)... yikes.
I mean it took 53 dam years but if you're gonna do it. Not much can beat this.... So stoked for my fellow Padre fans. So many close calls but then you think of those who are no longer with us that couldn't witness this.
Padres make history again against the texans.. awesome pitching performance. I couldn't watch the game and I had a buddy say "I hate kim, he got caught stealing and bobbled the ball". And the next day I watched the highlights for the game that day when kim hit his home run and saw some comments commending his fielding.. so I watched this videos. He had what, like 5 of the 17 outs for the team, not to mention the last one, where everyone knows what's up and the pressure is on. I'd choose tatis over kim for the long run, but his stats before he got hurt says he would have committed an error this game. So I told my friend I actually think we were fortunate to have kim playing this day.
I love the Rangers and I was at this game. Once the 9th inning rolled around I was really hoping for the No-Hitter. Can’t say you’ve seen a MLB no hitter everyday
I've never really been a padres fan because my grandfather was a cubbies fan and I'm from florida moved to michigan so sometimes I'd watch the tigers if verlander was pitching.. but after hearing "the first no hitter in franchise history and it belongs to one of San diegos own" I lost it emotionally. San Diego on his chest Congrats Joe
Can we just acknowledge the stellar fielding?

Yea. His offense needs more adjustment, but his defense has been legit.
