How was it sO uNdErRatEd? Everyone that follows baseball knew about that home run lol. Everything that has ever happened in existence is sO uNdErRateD.
Back in the 80s the Pirates were playing in Philly. Neither team was very good, but the Bucs sent _16_ batters to the plate in the first inning and put up a 10-spot. Their radio announcer said that if the Pirates lost this game, he was walking back to Pittsburg-which is 300 miles away. They ended up losing 15-10 and at the end of the season, he and a friend of his actually did the walk. Took them 12 days, but they raised something like $100,000 for charities in the Pittsburg area.
This is why I hate the unwritten rules of baseball. It doesn't matter how far ahead you are in a game, comebacks can always happen. When managers get mad at their own teams for violating these unwritten rules, I wish they would shut up. The only unwritten rule should be to try to score as many runs as possible.
In Loving memory of Jerry Coleman..."YOU CAN HANG A STAR ON THAT BABY"!!! Way to go Friars !!! Congratulations to Our Slam Diego Padres and all their faithful fans....and stay tuned!!

I love that they make the proposition in the bottom of the fourth down 8/0 and the inning ends 8/7. They didn't have to wait and wonder if they were in danger of a long walk. The team heard them loud and clear.

I think what made it unbelievable and a shock was a pitcher like Camerana a pitcher out of all people hitting a Grand Slam over Max Scherzer. Camerana was the man of the hour that night! And I'm sure San Diego and their fans will never forget that moment.
Coming back down 8 runs is quite unusual. It does not happen often. I hope the guy enjoys his walk. It is hot this time of year in Alpine and El Cajon. I wonder if he will find a way to get out of it. Earlier this year the Padres were down 7-1 to the Dodgers and won the game.
Mark Grant never walked from Alpine to Petco that I know of. He walked from Alpine to some other location. It would've taken him all day to walk from Alpine to Petco.
