    I think that nut wrench you have is more of a hindrance than a help. I bought a nut driver and it works great and I don't have to worry about it banging up my handle.

    You're going to love that T.S. Poker rod! My buddy has one and he throws frogs, bigger swimbaits, and flips big jigs with it. One of megabass' best cosmetically looking rods also

    Good stuff! I ordered a CT 100 and a CT 150 from Tackle Trap, just waiting for them to arrive. My other Daiwa reel is the SV TW. I am worried the SV may have spoiled me. If I am spoiled, at least I have learned how to upgrade the CTs!

    Good video, Tackle Trap is Awesome! Ordered a Daiwa Kage spinning rod on Monday the week of Christmas and it was n my porch Wednesday Christmas Eve. During The Coof know less.

      I have the kage jerkbait rod paired w a kage 2500 reel and let me tell you what it makes a 110 dance!

      My Kage is 7' mf spinning rod w/Daiwa 2500 Tatula. I was nervous w/the close to micro size eyelets, but used Alberto not and its Silky Smooth. Uni to Uni knot was to big to pass smooth.

    Hello. I am watching this tutorial 2 years after its posting. I use Daiwa Tatula reels. I definitely know you can feel the difference in the change out of the reel handles.
    But, could you tell any significant difference in performance by changing out those two bearings? Thanks.

  • @Armchair_Angler

    Cool vid, you've convinced me to get a Tat100 for froggin'! I don't think I'll end up doing to handle upgrade for added torque so I went with the HS (7.1:1) and 30IPT should be just fine.
    How heavy is the braid you're using? My only concern with this reel is how much 65lb line I'd be able to get on the spool. Unfortunately Daiwa doesn't post capacity for 65lb so I ended up buying 50lb powerpro S8Sv2.
    Cheers

    • @PunchFishing
      @PunchFishing  3 роки тому +1

      I'm using 50lb braid, which I think is even overkill for frogging. I just had it laying around so that's what I'm using.

    you know...i did a lot of upgrades on my jdm 2017 daiwa tatula sv tw and just couldn't get around the shape of the 2017. now these new tatulas are shaped like the steez sv reels, which i like. likewise, i went through tackle trap for the bearings; went ZPI based on their recommendation and had looked at the hedgehog bearings etc... Anyway, all the updgrades and I was like...meh...casts great...smooth reeling, but was spoiled by the weight and shape of the steez sv tw. these new(er) tatula reels are under 7oz though and curious how close i could get a new tatula sv tw to a steez. great vid.

    • @PunchFishing
      @PunchFishing  3 роки тому +1

      I've never owned a Steez which is probably a good thing 😬

    • @HBeretta
      @HBeretta 3 роки тому +1

      @@PunchFishing what you really don't want to own are those new jdm zillions...they've replaced the steez for me....low $300s too on ebay months ago when they launched in Japan. Keep in mind JDM 6.1oz...USA 6.7oz. Clicking drag too...reel exceeds the hype. Seriously, stay away from it...it'll replace all your reels.

  • @christophersmith9162

    So now I would like to see a video on the performance of the reel, did it increase casting distance or consistency with the bearings and after useing it how do you like the power of the handle, did it truly transform the reel?

    • @PunchFishing
      @PunchFishing  3 роки тому +2

      I wouldn't say these upgrades are THAT dramatic. Bigger handles really does help with techniques like flipping and frogging where you gain some extra torque.
      I will post some follow ups on my frogging setup on instagram though, so follow me there.

      @@PunchFishing sometimes with Daiwa reels it's just fun to customize them to your own personal taste. I just recently purchased a tutula elite after I sold my to Tatula 100 I'm thinking of upgrading the handle to a longer than 90 mm. also changed the handles on my Daiwa Steez reels and had spanky at tackle trap redo my SV spools made a great difference.

    Its too bad that they don't have shorter knobs on the aftermarket handle. Does TackleTrap have the key to take the knobs off the aftermarket handle?

    Great vid bud. I’m a Lews guy myself. I tear all mine completely down every year clean oil and lube in the off season. I use an ultra sonic cleaner on all my parts. Makes clean up a breeze. My question does tackle trap carry Lews parts?

    • @PunchFishing
      @PunchFishing  3 роки тому +1

      They do carry Lews parts! They can also let you know which aftermarket bearings will fit inside your Lews reels. tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=898_892

    I have the exact same reel, but for some reason it’s making a noise like sand is rubbing the spool when I crank, I disassembled, cleaned and saw knicks on the spool frame, I gently filed them down in hopes of the noise going away but it still makes the noise when I cast, I even cleaned inside the ridges where the spool sits and spins. It’s still smooth but I’m not comfortable with the noise, do you think it can be one of my bearing making the noise? Any feedback will be helpful, thank you in advance
