    I too cast with my right and reel with my left. All my buddies say I do it wrong! But why switch hands if ya don’t have too?!

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing 6 місяців тому +3

      Exactly! While there isn't a wrong way, it's best to do how you want it. For those who cast heavy stuff.. I can see a benefit for swapping hands after every cast. You distribute the load. But if you can cast lighter power using less brakes... There's no need to swap arms. Bfs is so light that you also don't need to swap! One reason why I love bfs fishing!

      Wow! How was it like back then? Was centrifugal braking good? I believe that type of reel came out like 1900s. Be interested in hearing what you have to say and thanks for the kind words! This reel here is a monster! Easy to learn!

      U bet! I love centrifugal casting for distance, but it's heavy on thumb skills, which makes it tough to have when I guide locals or family members out fishing. The fish don't wait!. Make it easy and ppl will enjoy fishing! ;)

    I can’t wait to try some of these tips with my aldebaran I’ve been running my tension knob just enough for it to fall at a consistent speed. But I’ve got my break at 4-5 mostly at 5 just to combat my backlashes. I try and slowly crank the breaking down but I overspool and maybe just not fast enough with my thumb

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing 3 місяці тому

      The new Aldebaran got weak brakes. Put it around 60 percent, that's my sweet spot for my casting power and style :)

      @@rawrfishingso I just got home to adjust my tension knob and even at full loose I don’t feel any side to side play? Any advice?

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing 3 місяці тому

      That's the stupid thing about that silent tune... U won't be able to tell. So it's All about experimenting. I sold my alde for the Conquest. Same thing!
      I simply configure it the way I normally do. Then if it's inconsistent.. I add a bit more tension. But little cranks at a time. Very annoying. Daiwa ftw lol

    Hey, loved your video. I’m a new subscriber. I have a question for you. I just ordered a tatula 100 it’s coming from Japan. Do I need to oil it before use? I saw another video where a guy said that they ship dry.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing 2 місяці тому +1

      Thx for the love and welcome! I believe they all come oiled. But when it comes to individual reels, some could simply be a miss. I have ordered many reels over seas from Japan and so far, they all have been oiled out of the box. You should be able to tell once u get your reel. If it needs it, add it! We never know how the reels were stored in warehouse or how it's transported.

    Great video! I have a Tatula SV TW that I accidentally messed up the tension spool. No matter how I tune it now it just blows up on casts. Can I just send it to you to check out? 😂

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing 2 місяці тому

      Thx. Oh what a bummer. Did u try to change the tension knob back to the factory setting?

    • @angelocruz6822
      @angelocruz6822 2 місяці тому

      @@rawrfishingyeah and nothing. Loosened it all the way up and tightened it back to where the spool had no side to side. Even with the brakes on 20, backlash unless I thumb it very well.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing 2 місяці тому

      Mmm, perhaps it's not the tension... Is it the spool cup? Maybe the spring system is jammed

    all my daiwas good at setting 8. why is that 😂😂

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing 6 місяців тому +1

      I would love to know why as well! It seems like they are all consistent for my casting if I were to use their method of setting up the tension. If you look closely to every reel, their cup are not the same, the springs are not even the same! but as I am reporting, all my daiwa reels with the mag force braking cup, regardless if it's bfs, SV, or lowest end model like this, I can set the brakes to 8 as the sweet spot. I can set it lower if I wanna throw further with less power and feather the spool. I often cast with all my daiwa reels at brake setting 6 and only need to turn it up for windy conditions. I love daiwa!
