I have a Chihuahua rescue and I love her!!! She's a senior rescue and was trained and cared for very well! However she's very very shy and doesn't make friends with other dogs or people. That's not a problem since I'm also a senior who is retired and lives alone! We're a perfect fit!!!
My rescue & I are both Senior’s too! I absolutely love this little dog, I’ve always had Great Danes until her! ❤ She’s something else & never even barked until she was 9years old….
I love my Chi. She is the sweetest and most affectionate pet I’ve ever had. I am 65. I love this little dog. I had no idea that these little pups were so sweet and adorable. She’s always at my side and if I leave for even 10 minutes, she is so glad to see me, she has to lick my face for 5 minutes. A very unique and intelligent pup she is.
My Gizmo is 3 now and he’s been the best pet I’ve ever had, so loving and affectionate and being my partner in crime/sidekick is his favorite thing to do!!
I had a chihuahua named gizmo. I got rid of him bc he bit me and my daughter. It was either get rid of him or never trust him again. He should b about 3 now. Thats crazy 😂
I’ve had them for over 35 years, they’re fantastic little dogs, I’m so sick of people being nasty (on social media ) about them, calling them evil, demos, devil dogs, they haven’t got the sense to know that they are , or can be very fearful and that’s why they act aggressive, these people are encouraging people (who own them) to abuse them because they believe what they read and chastise, hit them for growling which just makes them even more scared and aggressive 😢

Rescued a runt chi pup , she was borderline starving to death an freezing, Took her in an fed her good , an had her sleep curled up with me. Best decision I've ever made🙂 she's my lil angel. Named her peaches 👑.

We had chihuahuas from 1999 to two weeks ago when we lost out 18 year 3 month old one. The best dogs we’ve ever had. They have to be socialized from the time you bring them home, and they will love everyone.
My Montana Sky I had for 16 years. She saved my life several times. She’s buried beside her cat brother. I miss my girl in 2018. I sleep with her teddy bear for comfort.

I agree with you 💯 percent. I HAVE 2 RESCUE ONCE . Ive had them for 14 years, there only 6 months apart n there the love of me and my husband life. Were 76 years old and we love our babies!!! Thank got we RESCUE them !!!

My neighbors dumped their chichuhua on my husband and I. She's very protective of me now. She sleeps on my lap and in my bed laying right by my side. We would not trade her for anything.

I've had 8 Chihuahuas. Two of them are still with me. One is a rescue and is very jealous of anyone but him sitting in my lap. I find this breed very lovable and easily compatible with other dogs. A WORD TO THE WISE: DO NOT LEAVE A CHIHUAHUA OR OTHER SMALL BREED UNATTENDED OUTSIDE. A bird of prey, such as an owl or hawk, etc., can easily pick them up and fly off with them for their next dinner. I've known of 2 families that had this horrendous thing happen to them, never to see their tiny pet again.

My chico is a 4 year old rescue chi. He is so grateful to have a home that he is constantly licking and kissing me. I love him so much, he is our little angel.
I have a chi . She gets along with my dutch shepherd , pitbull mix and a cat . In fact she runs the household so the other dogs and the cat listen to her . One thing I have never done is taken the chance and left her alone with them . She goes everywhere I go just to be safe . I don't think her sisters would hurt her because they're so close but you never know .
I got one who is going on four months old and he is a holy terror right now. I've been working with him and have taught him to sit....with a treat but when he gets the zoomies, all bets are off. But he has been showing signs of becoming a little watch dog. He alerted me to someone creeping around at 2am and woke me up. I am hoping that he does begin to mellow out after a few months. I love the little fella. But those zoomies are something else. Wow! He's like trying to catch a chicken!

I had a brindle chihuahua named Bruno; he was the love of my life he also became my service dog ~ and warned me of several health issues that I have; 😪 unfortunately the love of my life has crossed over rainbow bridge😭 and I'll miss him forever 💔
My service dog passed 4 months ago. I got a chiwawa rescue yesterday. It's not at all a replacement for my service dog, but it is helping me immensely with the severe grief-stricken state I was in. I said that I was fostering him, but I think I knew on the first night that he's going to be mine.
My aunt ended up with 6 dogs - she called them her 6 pack. One of the dogs was a German Sheppard that would touch the chi's with his nose. It looked like he was counting them as they went outside.
Our little girl loves everyone in the family. She will often visit everyone's bed at some point during the night. She loves visitors. She loves her cat and dog siblings. She was easy to train, our other dog showed her the basics. She does get cold, and loves sleeping under the blankets even in pretty warm temperatures.
I have a chawuwa mix and i really love her she is so good and she is rescue.and i had another chuwawa and i had her sense she was 6 months old, and she. Was A rescued also.she ended up having cognitive heart failures and she passed at12 she was a wonderfull dog she with people and childrenyou couldnt ask for better either. I cried like baby when she passed. I shure blessed to have her.

I have two chis and they love everyone in the family however you can always tell who their favorite people are. They love other animals and children and enjoy my nieces and nephew. Best little dogs with huge personalities, they'll definitely tell you when they don't like something! Special dogs deserve special owners 😊
I love my pepper she was with me for 14 1/2 years I miss her so she passed away in 2021 July 6 I still cry cause I miss her so I do have a blanket on my bed with a recent pic on it the night before she passed away and a pillow

Sounds like bad training. Chihuahuas are the most loving. The worst ive had is a little growl when she sleeps and i move her. My other one, god rest her soul.. she wouldn't ever even growl when i bugged her. She and i had the strongest bond. Now strangers ya they gonna be mean.
Yes, training!! I've had two Chihuahuas and they only barked when someone knocked on the door and stopped barking on command. Mine never snipped or bit anyone!! Easily house trained. Don't get a Chihuahua if you can't train it. They are very smart and learn quickly. They are loving and faithful. Best dog ever!!
i have my 3rd Chi as a service dog ❤. first was female and others male. males seem to do better for me. both have been life savers. need their brains and they do well. if you are HP then look to your needs and match dog. broke shoulder 2 weeks after getting this puppy….he learned to help take socks and cloths off,,,i’m a leg amp and need help. he can ❤❤
My mother was a breeder of championship chihuahuas. I've lived with them all my life and now have a 15 year old rescue. She had been rescued from a puppy mill. I took her in when my elderly neighbours who had originally rescued her could no longer care for her. She was not toilet trained, she peed all over the house and their house reeked. I think/know that most of the issues people have with chihuahuas come not from the dogs but the owners. My mother's mantra was always "Start as you intend to continue." I've followed this with my dogs and my kids. Chihuahuas are smart. They can read you like the first copy of Tip and Mitten, hell, they've already moved onto the Little Golden Books when when you're still figuring out "see Tip, Tip runs". They can give you the look like the "You're something that I need to scrape off the bottom of my shoe." with no problem. Treat them like you would treat a corgi or collie and you'll be golden. They are not brain dead "purse dogs" they are Saint Bernards in small bodies. They will give everything you expect of them and more. If you need them to be socialized to be pleasant around other dogs and people then expect that and take nothing less. Remember "Start as you intend to continue" and stop blaming the dog.
Rescued a Chihuahua when I had three Boxers and I took it straight to obedience class and it took NO time at all for all three, young playful, rowdy Boxers to know that the Chihuahua was one of them. Never had any problems BUT I did keep a watchful eye if they were in small areas as Boxers, who are very energetic and stompy, COULD stamp on fragile legs. Learned in obedience to let that Chihuahua walk on the ground like a dog instead of carry it around, which could make them overly protective/aggressive. Great breed but can be barky if you are in a close neighborhood.

I just lost my 14 year old Rat Terrier. I started with his grandfather and have had nothing but Rat Terriers since 1995. I asked my Pastor for help to find another small dog. Today at church I found a lady who’s chihuahua has just had puppies. I’ve never owned a chihuahua before and she offered me one of the puppies. I may even get two of them. A male and a female. I’m asking for advice from current and former chihuahua owners whether or not to get two of these puppies. I watched my Rat Terrier get lonely when he lost his sister and no longer had a playmate. I don’t want to have another lonely dog that has no other dog to play with. But what is best for a chihuahua? Will he or she get along well with a littermate as a companion?

One long hair one short hair they are now seniors almost 15 and going strong I'm also a senior both rescued one near death the other had 7 homes before ours because he's vocial I think he was a town crier in a former life lol...

As a lifelong mini Dachshund owner (5) I ended up rescuing a Chiweenie (mix Chi and Doxie) OMG this little girl is amazing!! The barking issues with these 2 breeds are on the owner. If you can train them and show they are secure with you the barking should be minimal. I had my Chiweenie for nearly 3 weeks now and my neighbors didn't know I had a new dog. Door rings she will bark but I say 'stop' and she does!. I had 2 mini Doxie who passed not long apart and was so heart broken. My new Chiweenie's amazing, best of both world, really. But, I always loved Chihuahua too so I am enjoying my 50/50 little beauty.
We love our chihuahua. He is lovey with us. Once he gets to know someone he is nice to them too. Strangers better stay away. He 's our buddy and we are so glad to have him.

I took on a Chihuahua when he was 9 he is now 11, he has put me in hospital with blood poisoning, I am still trying to work with him, he has a little cave with lots of toys and his duvet but he is so angry, I dont know his past but when I can I have a little head tickle and we make a big fuss when he is nice, it breaks my heart that he wont let you put his harness on and take him out, I love to walk
I have a chihuahua mix and shes the best little buddy ever - I have no regrets, she is great with my granddaughter and our other pets. Yes she barks but not more than our other dog.
I will never own another dog breed, my chi is my life and I have never seen such an intelligent breed and I would recommend for everyone to get a chi!! You won't be sorry ❤❤❤

I’ve had my Spike for 14 years and he is great. He rarely barks and loves to be near me all the time and hates when I go to work. He is a long hair and loves the winter and snow, but he’s from Louisianan 😆😆 Plus you would think he had professional training for walking and staying, but no, it’s just the way he is 😘😘

I feel like most of this applies to every dog. Both my chi’s love their dog and cat siblings, 6 in all. But they do absolutely need to stay warm. We live in Hawai’i and they still spend much of their time under blankets. 😂

Qualités : bravoure, courage, endurance à la marche et l'activité, enjoué, sociable, aboyait rarement sauf pour alerter, comique, marrante, adorable, empathique, gentille, patiente... La liste est longue et elle me manque. Je l'aimerais toujours.
I have sister Chihuahua they are 3 months I love them so much but I have noticed that the bigger one Sheba is really a fit name for her she is very aggressive and gets very jealous when I show her little sister any attention, I need help with what to do she is starting to bit me and even attacking me at times she is very aggressive to other dogs as well is there something I'm doing to make her behave this way?? Shopie is the sweet loving one that just loves everyone and wants to be friends with everyone but she is showing some signs of bad behaviors that her big sister is showing .what do I do to change this situation and show Sheba that she don't have tone so mean that Mommy loves her too. She is just starting to bite at me if I go to pick up her food bowl or if I try to take something from her mouth that she should have in there. What to do help please help I can't even get think of getting rid of either one but it is becoming a safety issue with her hurting me or even herself. Please someone help me before it gets to be something that can't be fixed or changed !!!!!
My chihuahua is a year old now and she's the best dog I've ever had. She hardly ever barks, she's so sweet and loving, she plays gentle with my cats, she gets along well with my daughter's golden retriever... She just dumps her water bowl if I'm gone for more than 2 hours lol. She is the most loving and sweetest pup ❤

Ive had six chihuahuas throughout my life. I have two right now. I could probably come up with 500 reasons why chihuahuas are the best dogs ever.

My chico is a 4 year old rescue chi. He is so grateful to have a home that he is constantly licking and kissing me. I love him so much, he is our little angel.
I have a chi . She gets along with my dutch shepherd , pitbull mix and a cat . In fact she runs the household so the other dogs and the cat listen to her . One thing I have never done is taken the chance and left her alone with them . She goes everywhere I go just to be safe . I don't think her sisters would hurt her because they're so close but you never know .
I got one who is going on four months old and he is a holy terror right now. I've been working with him and have taught him to sit....with a treat but when he gets the zoomies, all bets are off. But he has been showing signs of becoming a little watch dog. He alerted me to someone creeping around at 2am and woke me up. I am hoping that he does begin to mellow out after a few months. I love the little fella. But those zoomies are something else. Wow! He's like trying to catch a chicken!

My service dog passed 4 months ago. I got a chiwawa rescue yesterday. It's not at all a replacement for my service dog, but it is helping me immensely with the severe grief-stricken state I was in. I said that I was fostering him, but I think I knew on the first night that he's going to be mine.
My aunt ended up with 6 dogs - she called them her 6 pack. One of the dogs was a German Sheppard that would touch the chi's with his nose. It looked like he was counting them as they went outside.

Our little girl loves everyone in the family. She will often visit everyone's bed at some point during the night. She loves visitors. She loves her cat and dog siblings. She was easy to train, our other dog showed her the basics. She does get cold, and loves sleeping under the blankets even in pretty warm temperatures.

I have a chawuwa mix and i really love her she is so good and she is rescue.and i had another chuwawa and i had her sense she was 6 months old, and she. Was A rescued also.she ended up having cognitive heart failures and she passed at12 she was a wonderfull dog she with people and childrenyou couldnt ask for better either. I cried like baby when she passed. I shure blessed to have her.

I have two chis and they love everyone in the family however you can always tell who their favorite people are. They love other animals and children and enjoy my nieces and nephew. Best little dogs with huge personalities, they'll definitely tell you when they don't like something! Special dogs deserve special owners 😊

Sounds like bad training. Chihuahuas are the most loving. The worst ive had is a little growl when she sleeps and i move her. My other one, god rest her soul.. she wouldn't ever even growl when i bugged her. She and i had the strongest bond. Now strangers ya they gonna be mean.
Yes, training!! I've had two Chihuahuas and they only barked when someone knocked on the door and stopped barking on command. Mine never snipped or bit anyone!! Easily house trained. Don't get a Chihuahua if you can't train it. They are very smart and learn quickly. They are loving and faithful. Best dog ever!!
i have my 3rd Chi as a service dog ❤. first was female and others male. males seem to do better for me. both have been life savers. need their brains and they do well. if you are HP then look to your needs and match dog. broke shoulder 2 weeks after getting this puppy….he learned to help take socks and cloths off,,,i’m a leg amp and need help. he can ❤❤
My mother was a breeder of championship chihuahuas. I've lived with them all my life and now have a 15 year old rescue. She had been rescued from a puppy mill. I took her in when my elderly neighbours who had originally rescued her could no longer care for her. She was not toilet trained, she peed all over the house and their house reeked. I think/know that most of the issues people have with chihuahuas come not from the dogs but the owners. My mother's mantra was always "Start as you intend to continue." I've followed this with my dogs and my kids. Chihuahuas are smart. They can read you like the first copy of Tip and Mitten, hell, they've already moved onto the Little Golden Books when when you're still figuring out "see Tip, Tip runs". They can give you the look like the "You're something that I need to scrape off the bottom of my shoe." with no problem. Treat them like you would treat a corgi or collie and you'll be golden. They are not brain dead "purse dogs" they are Saint Bernards in small bodies. They will give everything you expect of them and more. If you need them to be socialized to be pleasant around other dogs and people then expect that and take nothing less. Remember "Start as you intend to continue" and stop blaming the dog.

Rescued a Chihuahua when I had three Boxers and I took it straight to obedience class and it took NO time at all for all three, young playful, rowdy Boxers to know that the Chihuahua was one of them. Never had any problems BUT I did keep a watchful eye if they were in small areas as Boxers, who are very energetic and stompy, COULD stamp on fragile legs. Learned in obedience to let that Chihuahua walk on the ground like a dog instead of carry it around, which could make them overly protective/aggressive. Great breed but can be barky if you are in a close neighborhood.

As a lifelong mini Dachshund owner (5) I ended up rescuing a Chiweenie (mix Chi and Doxie) OMG this little girl is amazing!! The barking issues with these 2 breeds are on the owner. If you can train them and show they are secure with you the barking should be minimal. I had my Chiweenie for nearly 3 weeks now and my neighbors didn't know I had a new dog. Door rings she will bark but I say 'stop' and she does!. I had 2 mini Doxie who passed not long apart and was so heart broken. My new Chiweenie's amazing, best of both world, really. But, I always loved Chihuahua too so I am enjoying my 50/50 little beauty.
We love our chihuahua. He is lovey with us. Once he gets to know someone he is nice to them too. Strangers better stay away. He 's our buddy and we are so glad to have him.

I took on a Chihuahua when he was 9 he is now 11, he has put me in hospital with blood poisoning, I am still trying to work with him, he has a little cave with lots of toys and his duvet but he is so angry, I dont know his past but when I can I have a little head tickle and we make a big fuss when he is nice, it breaks my heart that he wont let you put his harness on and take him out, I love to walk

I’ve had my Spike for 14 years and he is great. He rarely barks and loves to be near me all the time and hates when I go to work. He is a long hair and loves the winter and snow, but he’s from Louisianan 😆😆 Plus you would think he had professional training for walking and staying, but no, it’s just the way he is 😘😘

La liste est longue et elle me manque. Je l'aimerais toujours.
I have sister Chihuahua they are 3 months I love them so much but I have noticed that the bigger one Sheba is really a fit name for her she is very aggressive and gets very jealous when I show her little sister any attention, I need help with what to do she is starting to bit me and even attacking me at times she is very aggressive to other dogs as well is there something I'm doing to make her behave this way?? Shopie is the sweet loving one that just loves everyone and wants to be friends with everyone but she is showing some signs of bad behaviors that her big sister is showing .what do I do to change this situation and show Sheba that she don't have tone so mean that Mommy loves her too. She is just starting to bite at me if I go to pick up her food bowl or if I try to take something from her mouth that she should have in there. What to do help please help I can't even get think of getting rid of either one but it is becoming a safety issue with her hurting me or even herself. Please someone help me before it gets to be something that can't be fixed or changed !!!!!

She hardly ever barks, she's so sweet and loving, she plays gentle with my cats, she gets along well with my daughter's golden retriever...
