@@lokimiguel2452I'mma guess you haven't been around many chihuahuas, or trained them for that matter. Even those with excellent breeding and care tend to be extremely prone to fear, and this in turn begets a number of problematic behaviors. Some of'em are also just plain aggressive without having the fear motivator. Sometimes they become possessive of their owners to the point of aggression. There are lots of potential causes, many of which are part of the breed rather than a result of environment.
Yeah, you can usually train them out of it, but it requires far more effort than most other breeds. ....And sometimes, depending on the dog, it just doesn't work. Despite what people like to say, not every dog can be trained out of every behavior.

My chihuahua was a sassy little girl, I made a concerted effort to socialize her, but she still gave this leery side eye to strangers that just reeked of judgement.
They only love their master, they're kind of like a cat in that regard.

I lost my 3 pound attack dog a year ago this week. The Chihuahua only loves one person, and, if you're that chosen person, you have a best friend for their entire life. I miss my girl terribly.

Derpy reminds me of my old chihuahua I had growing up- people always talk shit about chihuahuas but they’re such loyal little guys!
They are! They will loyally bite you.
My grandmother had a three legged Chihuahua. That dog wasn't afraid of anything and would regularly chase my grandmother's male cat, who was three times that dog's size.
there is something about small dogs and how fearless they are towards those larger then them. those *smaller* then them on the other hand... the fear is real

Omg, this is my 15 yr old Chi, but he has NO teeth. Grumpy and dramatic but loves he’s my baby boy who loves me more than food, and that’s saying a lot. Thank you for taking care of all the dogs you do,love your videos and without you and others in your profession, all grumpy Chi’s would have long nasty nails. Worth every single penny you charge!!
Boy does that little one ever bring back memories of my grooming days. More attitude from these littles than from ANY large breeds.
People love to say mean things about chihuahuas, but I just lost my spicy girl and I'll always be grateful for the joy she brought to my life. Some people like the easy to love dogs, and some of us enjoy a challenge.

@@Person1865 Poor little guys have a hard time living down the misconceptions people have about them! I’ve only heard great things about them and how wonderful they are. To me, they do seem to shake a lot like they are constantly cold, or nervous and stressed out. :)
Some Chihuahuas I have seen fear the air, others are very confident 😎

FEISTY little guy. Great dogs; my dog is Chihuahua & Yorkie mix - Chorkie. She's stubborn, needy and has endless energy. 😆😍
Honestly, I feel like chihuahuas can be really sweet dogs. They're just often not taken seriously because they're tiny and their outbursts are seen as funny when the same behavior on even a slightly bigger dog would immediately be seen as dangerous, and owners would take their training more seriously. Chihuahuas are very smart dogs and just as sensitive as any other breed. They're not toys :( they'd also like some boundaries and need socialization!
Well said. Hate the angry psycho stereotype. With training, and without egging them on for laughs, chi's are the best dogs both in temperament and loyalty. No one has your back like a chi in his or her own home.
They really are. I owned two chihuahuas and both times, they were surprisingly chill, if snobby (unless youre their favorite person). They only bark at other dogs but they tolerate humans, mostly cuz they get uppies (which makes them feel tall), cuddles and snackies

People love to rag on Chihuahuas for barking at big dogs, but in the eyes of a small breed like a Chihuahua of course they will feel a bit threatened. They literally have to look up at a bigger dog. @@ifeeldead463
Amen to that! Never had a Chihuahua, but I've met a few responsible owners and a breeder. All of their dogs were angels! Reserved and protective, but good boys and girls tho. The one from the breeder were super chill at the vet, too!
They are dogs and want to be handled and trained like dogs.
My chihuahua named Secret, she screams and yanks I have trouble doing her nails, but we go to the groomer, and nails are done in 5 minutes , and as long as she can't see us when getting her nails done, she behaves perfectly, if she sees us, she puts on a show and screams.
Our Chihuahua does the same unless he's at the groomer. Then he practically offers his paws for trimming. They're such show ponies.

Chihuahuas are the most ferocious dogs hands down! I have had 2. My old chihuahua kept my 6 Belgians in line. She passed in January at 17. Miss her!

I have a neighbor that has a Shih tzu and a Cain Corso. The shih tzu is the boss out of the two. She keeps him in line.
Same. My 8lb chi kept my 40lb dog in line. Even as an 18 yr old and blind, the chi was in charge.
despite what it may seem, Chihuahuas naturally have very long life spans and are generally very healthy because they have been the same size and have had the same features since they were first introduced centuries ago. Those sharp snouts and compact bodies are a tank. @@_lexi

My partners grandmother had a chihuahua named Peewee who hated everyone except she and I. The whole family was stunned. When I came over he’d hop off her lap run over to me and stand on my knee like he was king of the mountain. He hated any part of his body touched besides his head so massaging his lil head was the funniest thing he’s make happy little growling noises and he won my heart, before him I met a different chihuahua named Johnny who came over to me and bit me for just being in his house. Peewee convinced me all Chis aren’t evil.

I used to think Chihuahua were these shaky nervous creatures I now know that that's shaking was just torrent of anger and fury that was barely being kept at Bay
Dangerous Derpy, of the Diminished Dental persuasion, had me laughing from start to finish. He is the perfect depiction of an old country song (slightly adjusted) where he thinks he is ten feet tall and Rottweiler! 🤪

We have never had a chihuahua before. We adopted a senior dog (I found her on the rescue site). We met her at Pets Mart. She had been viciously attacked by another dog and nearly died. We were told that she was gentle and was originally returned because she bit the guys girlfriend, which they didn't believe. She bit me twice when we first bought her home, nipped my husband's chin and protected our backyard like she was Godzilla by kicking up the dirt with her back leg. Two years later, her person is my husband, she growls at us every now and again, doesn't bite and we have learned her language. We have adopted many dogs , my favorite are cocker spaniels, but this old girl has added heaps of spice to our family and we absolutely love her.
Is her name, "La Chanclita"?

Derpy is in great shape, which feels weird to say. But I very rarely see any muscle on chihuahuas or other similar tiny dogs! Love the tiny dog videos, they bring a certain set of struggles all on their own that make them hard to work on and it's fun to see someone else struggle with a thrashing, rolling, biting bundle of rage
