Every series up the heads get bigger but the combines don’t slow down. If anything they speed up. Shows how much the engineering and thought process has improved combines over the years.

I owned in this order a JD 7720, CIH 2144, CIH 2344, CIH 2588, CIH 7088, CIH 9120, JD 9870, JD S680. The best Deere in my opinion was the 9870. Simple and easy to operate. My favorite all time combine was the 7088. That was an awesome machine. After running both red and green combines I gotta say the red machines are ahead of the green ones in technology and engineering. I run all green tractors but if I was to buy a new combine tomorrow I would drive straight to a CASE-IH dealer

We ran Massey Harris and Massey Ferguson for 60 years then went Green and ran 7720s and 8820s on the harvest run in the USA 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 during the 80s and 9600s during the 90s at the time they were big combines now they look like kids toys compared to the new models can’t believe how much bigger and price of new equipment has gotten now Thanks for the old memories

We run 2 9770s and 1 9870. 2 of them have 635d heads and one has a 936d. We harvest wheat and canola with them. Those machines run really good (even in -20 (Celsius) combining in the snow.

We run a pair of S790s. Both have power fold grain tanks with 100 bushel extensions. One runs a 712FC and a macdon fd140 and the other runs a 735fd. They have a lot of capacity

Very nice. The S790 is impressive combine. I just filmed 7 S790s harvesting wheat in a 2,800 acre field. I like the 712FC. It’s a nice corn head.

I had several JD Combines 45,55,4420 and a 6620. All of them good with exception to the 6620, absolute junk. I've had several Gleaners M2, F2 and currently have an old K which is the best I've ever had. Nothing fancy, but reliable, does a very good job on wheat and corn. I really enjoyed the video, THANKS!

I have spent some 4,000+ hours on the seat of a 6600 combine. Owned 4 different machines with the last 3 being sidehills. Currently own and operate a 7721 Titan 2, pulled with a John Deere 4630 powershift, and a Cockshutt 422 pulled by a Cockshutt 30 gas, cutting wheat and milo in southside Virginia.

Of all of the JD combines I've been around I've got to say that the 9650 is the one I miss the most. Can't beat an old walker machine, plus the blowers the on I was on made seeing what was going on easier. Currently the farm runs a 2014 S680 and a 2019 S780. We harvest rice and soybeans with these two wonderful machines.

My first owned was a 95. Of the ones you showed I have owned a 6600, a 6620, a 9500 and have spent time in a 9660 and a 9670. I presently own an S670 and it’s my favorite! Gotta love auto steer and the refrigerator! Along way from the 95 with a fan in the upper right corner blowing dirty air on you and the door (2 halves as I recall) open.

I learned to drive on a 1960 John Deere 55 thrashing windrowed pinto beans. My grandpa bought it new. I own it now and still use it today. I believe that series(45, 55, 95 and 105) is my favorite and one of the best combines ever made. Of the newer ones in the video id have to go with the 9500 as my favorite.

I first learned how to run a combine when I was 8 years old on a JD 9600 cylinder walker combine with 6 row corn headers and 20 foot wheat tables. We used smaller wheat tables so we could easily transport them up and down the road without taking off the headers in small fields that were usually less than 40 acres. We upgraded to 9610s with 8 row corn headers and 22 foot wheat tables after that. Then, as the years went on, we had a 9650 and 9660. My Granddaddy has not upgraded combines in several years because acreage will vary each year and his current combine is in great shape. He will be 79-years-old this August and he still operates a 9770 STS (himself) with an 8 row corn header and a 30 foot wheat table. When we harvest corn, he uses an 8295R JD tractor with a 1,000 bushel Unverferth grain cart on large tires. He always WANTS to upgrade to an s790 and now the X9 series, but we constantly have to wait on semi trucks in August with corn harvesting, so it really doesn’t matter what we operate, because we rarely ever get to pull corn from sun up to sun down without waiting or having to quit early. My favorite of all the combines was probably the 9650 because that’s when I was in high school and Granddaddy expected me to run one in the summers. That was a good time in my life on the farm. My Granddaddy would say his favorite was the 8820. He’d harvest 2,000 acres of corn, 2000 acres of wheat and 2000 acres of grain sorghum with just ONE back in the late 1980’s. 🚜🌽🥜 Love your channel and videos. I want to take my Granddaddy to your friend, Matt’s farm sometime so he can see all of those combines in action. He loves your channel as well.

I seen a local farmer here in michigan with a john deere S550. When was that model put into service? What were its specifications? I'd like to see some footage of that machine.
