If it’s anything lie the tile plows that we use in South Dakota the cable from the case goes right under the belly of the big bud and attaches directly to plow. Just has a loop or two off the bottom of the big bud to keep the cable centered and out from under the tires.

Impressive display of brute force and horsepower in both old and new. The more I see the John deere stuff breaking down on other channels the more I like case. For the multiple thousands more you pay for deere stuff I would be expecting better performance than what I'm seeing.

The power of friction. When I used to drive piles for highways we would occasionally get them off center. The H beam would be hammered 8ft into the ground and the 275 ton crane couldn't remove it. The holding power of the ground is astonishing.

So I am guessing that ripper was designed to be pulled by a monster dozer if those two tractors are working that hard to yank it. It is impressive how well those Buds still hold their own compared to 40 year newer machines. You can just about keep bolting new equipment to them, wonder if you could find some axles that have diff locks in them.

A lot of black poly has been laid all over Australian farm land for a lot of years now. On our farm we aim for 300mm maybe 400mm deep to the top. We have to have it buried not because of freezing the water but because the water gets so hot that the stock won’t drink their daily requirements in the summer and autumn.🇦🇺👍

You guys sure are having fun. I have countless miles of underground lines around my farm. I have several miles of fiber optic that would cost millions as it carries millions of connections between Denver to Houston. Several miles of helium 8" that is 8 feet deep. Miles of 8 to 16" natural gas. I have many miles of 480 volt power. 2" gas lines to pump irrigation wells. Then water lines 8" to 15" While installing a electric supply this Spring we hit a 8" gas line that is abandoned and not on a map. I call 811 often. I just got off my combine and it feel more relaxing to be getting 3700 bu of corn each hour so I can pay for more lines!

Great video lads, great to see equipment working, it would be nice to see how your yields would differ from field to field over the years from being ripped, if you did all your fields, from being decompressed at around 5ft deep and at normal worked fields 3ft deep,
To see the difference between moisture content, root development and growth depth, to pH levels and soil life like worms , bacteria etc etc 😀

That is some hard ground. I know it was really dry this season, so that doesn't help. Still, it's so cool to see those beasts pulling together. Thanks for sharing.

I am excited for you! Great starting a big project that has such a huge change to your life. It is very cool seeing the tractors put to their limits. I would be curious how many pounds of force is actually on the hitch pin for the trencher. Must be immense! Oh I just saw it says 115000 pounds on the thumbnail.

Please remember to put a heavy piece of conveyor of cloth of wrap the cable with a chain if it snaps that it doesn't kill the person in the front tractor.
It happened to a neighbor of ours...

This is a love/hate series. Love the series, hate the wait, for the next. Two beasts, snorting away.
