Petition idea: Get the Talyllyn to buy Diana and give her a future that’s bright, a home and plenty of work. All you’d have to do is regauge her and put her to work! I also have a idea regarding the original Slate industry. Couldn’t it be used for filler stone for filling in excavations and such? The Talyllyn could make money from that if people are willing to volunteer, to maybe experience the process of slate cutting and mining. Just my standpoint, I see untold potential for the Talyllyn and Corris railways with both having a bright future.
Slate waste is already a valuable mineral resource - it makes among other things excellent drainage stone for filling french drains- but the economics of extraction from the old slag tips at present work with motor lorries. A 24T 3 axle lorry carries a 16T payload - 12 times the 1 1/2 ton max payload of a Corris/Talyllyn "Queen Mary" coal wagon. In the case of Corris Uchaf the old waste tips - built with vertical sided walls either side of the main road to Machynlleth- were removed in the 1970's and landscaped out of existence when the road was improved. Time and a place for everything - but this isn't it.
They should name Corris’s #7 “Kerr Stuart”

Stanhope is also a Tattoo class locomotive, the Wikipedia is seemingly wrong.
There are five up in berma Asia. And if I’m not wrong, I think that Kerr Stuart 4388 is some sort of slight variation of it (although keep in mind that it’s probably not a tattoo and that it’s probably just a similar basic design)
Apparently Diana got the name 'Diana' at Oakeley Quarry, but do we know why they gave her that name in particular?

The Talyllyn is the real life Skarloey. Where I would argue (against younger me thinking it was the Ffestiniog) that the Mid Sodor is based on the Corris, seeing as 3 and 4 went from the Corris to Talyllyn as 3 and 4 went from the Mid Sodor to Skarloey. Doesn’t explain why Duke amd Bertram are the same gauge as the others, as they should really be 2’ but I think it’s just nice to imagine.
